Kind of a crappy trailer. Hope this game's worth picking up.

Edit: Maybe this should have gone here.

Don't expect much in the way of graphics. Not that I'm too bothered by that.

Their SBK series of sims hadn't improved graphically for years.

The handling, for SBK at least, has improved and is the best.

So I think they do have there priorities right.
Please update the PS1 look of the cars in the menu please Blackbean.

Totally agree with this. Now the teaser does show It is snowing, something that lacks from the WRC2010 title. Probably rain will be added too, one might think. Staggered starts would be cool, and the occassional rally driver in front of you, parked at the side of the road with engine trouble or flat tyre, now that would help to give you the feel of taking part of a rally. I know Black Bean asked what people wanted on a facebook page, dynamic weather and staggered starts where heavily requested. Looking forward to a new teaser.

Still waiting on WRC 2010 (and Superstars V8 Next Challenge) over here in the States...

Ya that is a bummer. But you CAN get it on Amazon for PC, which is the way I would recommend anyways.

2 of my favourite games, really. I saw PS3 WRC2010 in a bundle in the shop, 2 games for 25 Euro ! If there is a way I can help you, PM me.

...Never played the first one, but so far I think the audio just doesn't sound right. Obviously as he said, can't really judge it in an early build over a camera though.
Pretty much covering the same tracks as in the last one. I think the sound will be improved as that was a bit of an issue with the 2010 version for many folks.

I also hope they have new pacenotes and co-driver banter - those were the exact same ones as in WRC 2010! I'm guessing they're just placeholders though :)

As this year's WRC was held at some different locations, I do hope they'll be included too: Greece, Sardinia and the like.

Surprised at Alan from VVV though - the special stages were Head-2-Head races and nothing like Gymkhana...

I hope this game is better than the first cause it was only good for it's graphics when racing and would want some classic cars and tracks to also come WITH the game NOT a DLC.

Found the link: http://www.wrc.com/calendar-and-rallies/

And a quote from the Electronic Theatre site: "WRC 2 - The Official Game will feature significantly more content than its predecessor, with ninety stages, fifteen different locations, twenty five different terrain/weather conditions and nine car categories. Cars will range from the 1960s to the WRC models of the current Championship and the game contains new Game Modes, a sixteen-player online mode, a completely revamped Career Mode and many other improvements from last year in terms of content, gameplay features and visual effects."

I know it's not new info but I couldn't find the links yesterday - sorry.

Oh my god it looks just as crap as the first one. It sounds and looks terrible.

Give the damn license to codemasters and let them make a decent wrc game.

I'll stick with dirt 3 thankyou!!

Whilst I agree that blackbean are crap.
Codemasters efforts at rally are worse IMHO.
90 seconds worth of ribbon that you can take with hardly using a brake let alone a hand brake is woeful.

Nice for the graphic junkies but that's about it. Utter crap too.

Unfortunatly graphics sells games more than gameplay...

I fully agree. Unfortunately it the nature of the beast. All developers have to put good pictures on the back of the box.

This is a must have for me. I enjoyed WRC 2010 very much, I can only hope the 78 stages of WRC 2010 are not 100% copied to WRC-2. Thankfully there is some new stuff to look forward to anyway. Despite what others might say, I like the handling of WRC 2010, If you put in enough effort (and I think that is a problem for a lot of console-racers) It becomes very enjoyable and controllable.

Definitely worth putting the effort in alright, though ther won't be much that is new stage-wise: four new countries with six stages each and the head-to-heads - they look like lots of fun.

I did not mind the graphics in wrc 2010 but I found alot of the stages very boring and the sound of the cars just disconnected me from the game.

Do you own dirt 3? And have you played all the colin mcrae games?

The physics are great, they aren't ultra realistic but they are far from arcadey to the point where you don't have to use the brakes.

Games are supposed to be fun and the Dirt series is just that.

Anyone know if theres gona be a demo this year?
Not really seen any gameplay footage all ive seen is one video on youtube and the guy wasn't very impressed with his early demo.

I really like the new menus so far. I think this one is going to be worth importing.

👍 I love Dirt2. Its fun, but its realistic at the same time.

I really like the new menus so far. I think this one is going to be worth importing.

I'm not a fan of the menu's. On the PC version, i'm finding the controls in the menu's to be unresponsive sometimes, and there is a lot of clicking through options to get to what you want.

I tested it out. I'm actually really enjoying it!
Graphics on some levels are great! France, Spain and Wales looked great. Rolling hills and rows of trees in the distance, good width and nicely cambered corners (They really aren't that far behind Dirt 2 mostly). The Australian stages are shockingly bad visually and in design, like something out of an old XBOX game (These are the only bad stages Iv come across).
Handling is hugely improved imo. Good level of grip and good braking distances. Cars react predicably and you can set up slides into corners nicely. I think it's a really good compromise between Arcade and Sim, not quite as detailed as Dirt 3 but still fun.

Stage length ranges between 3.5 and 9km! (maybe more but I havent' checked them all)
Some car models are decent others are pretty basic and low detail. Controls are decent, menu design is decent and really fast to load. You can start up the game and within 15 seconds be driving a stage.

Audio is a little disappointing. Nice and raw effects, crackling from the exhaust and turbo chatter but it seems really low quality like a 96kbps mp3 or something. Co-drivers a bit stiff but the call outs are at a good distance and have an good enough level of detail in the notes. A hugely fast run top speed through a narrow row of trees in Spain then a tight 90 left and she gives juuust enough warning.

So far so good. Looking forward to getting stuck into the career when it arrives.\

I swear the more I play this game the more I enjoy it. Genuinely surprised how much they've improved this game. Peugeot 205 on Greece Stage 3 is awesome! It's so tight and twisty.

Thanks for your input, great to read some positive feedback. Which system are you playing on ? I enjoyed the first title on the PS3 with G25 and looking forward to the WRC 2 career mode.
