I put racing softs on everything, I feel like I have to drive so slow with less grippy tires. I get more of a sense of speed using them too since I can go faster, that's one thing gt5 lacks is any sense of speed.
Then you're playing the wrong game.
Need for Speed forum is that way. ----->
Unless you're achieving to create a fully worked racing car, then you should keep the tires stock, just for novelty. Trying to drive a 700 HP ZR1 in the wet is very, very fun.I drive my cars with Racing Softs, but I drive them with all my assists off on my insane hp cars like the ZR1(905) and ACR Viper(1035).
Would you fellow GTP'ers still say I need to lower my tires down?

Comfort soft tires work much better than Sports hard tires on wet surfaces, did you know?Unless you're achieving to create a fully worked racing car, then you should keep the tires stock, just for novelty. Trying to drive a 700 HP ZR1 in the wet is very, very fun.![]()

Yes.
the people who are using racing soft tires are the same ones, who drives the x2010 all the time just to win as fast as possible...
.BottozRacing Softs add too much grip.
Take a stock, untuned no oil change Z06, 458 or GT-R around Laguna Seca. No Tuning, using Sport Soft tires (similar to an R-compound DOT Tire). You should be able to mimic Randy Pobst's times of 1:34.4, 1:36.4 and 1:36.2. Now add Racing Softs. Now look at your lap times. Racing Softs are not real.
My post back on page 3.
.
Tires make a difference, but the grip added in game by Racing Softs is unrealistic.

Tires make a difference, but the grip added in game by Racing Softs is unrealistic. If you've ever done a track day, or raced in real life on racing slicks you'd know. In game Sport Softs are similar to a R-compound racing tire. Racing Hards are borderline too grippy. Racing Softs are in fantasy land.
Spec MIATA and 944SPEC both use Toyo RA1s, similar to Sport Medium or Sport Soft.
WTCC and ALMS GT cars use an Yoko Advan A005, similar to a Sport Soft... maybe Racing Hard.
It's been demonstrated that Comfort Softs generate the same lap times as an F1 tire in the video on page 4.
Racing Softs are not real, and add too much grip.
Like I said, you owe it to yourself to drive a "beast" (700hp road car) with Sports Mediums/Softs, no aids, and stock suspension. You will truly find that there is no better way to perfect your technique because there is really no room for error. That's what I tell everyone who wants disable TCS and Stability. It forces you to really be easy on the throttle and keep from overdriving the car. Sooooooooo much fun, and the improved technique really helps too when you go back to RS's. So it's a win-win.

I'll try it.
FobiaOnly useful on LMP, Group C and Formula cars, pretty much overkill on everything else. Also, they're good on GT500 cars as qualifying tires.
Why does it matter to people who dislike them as you don't have to race with against people who use them or use them yourself
what about weight factor?
