Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Out With the Old…

It’s the final week of 2025, and with it there’s a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races to see us out of the old year and into the new.

We’re expecting another relatively busy week, given the free time much of the GT7-playing world will have over the coming seven days and the incentives to log into the game (for that sweet, sweet parts ticket). The races have a touch of the familiar to them too, being close to identical to a set earlier this year.

There’s only one big difference between these races and the May set, and that comes in Race C. As it did back then, this event features a 12-lap race for the Gr.4 cars at Red Bull Ring — with free choice from the GT4-like Gr.4 car category, but something of a bias towards the all-wheel drive models.

Where that race was an all-out sprint where you basically had to choose the Genesis G70, this one has a strategy angle and some much stickier tires. In essence, you’ll need to use both the Racing Medium and Racing Soft at some point during the race, requiring you to duck in to switch from one grade to the other.

There’s a 6x tire wear multiplier in effect, so wringing the most you can out of those Softs before they drop off a cliff is of vital importance to a fast race time. As is making sure you nail your pit entry and exit, as you’ll collect a three-second penalty if you cross the solid line in either location — which you must serve on-track at the designated penalty zone.

Failing to make the switch between tire grades will land you with a one-minute penalty, added to your time at the end of the race, although we don’t see that as being an issue unless you make a mistake and pick the wrong tires in the pits…

The other two races look identical to those that ran back in May, up and down the list of regulations and requirements.

That means that Race A is a sprint over eight laps of the short Kyoto Driving Park Miyabi circuit — which resembles a badly packed Easter egg — in the Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 Shifter on Sports Soft tires.

You’ll need to watch out for the False Start Check at the beginning of the race. This means keeping the handbrake on at the start of the race, as you’ll take an instant torque-cut penalty if you move before the lights go out.

Also note that there’s no Driver Rating (DR) updates in this race again, while Sportsmanship Rating (SR) updates remain turned on. Karts have unique handling, so this could be a risky one as it’s easy to lose SR and — eventually — a loss of SR can also impact your DR despite not being directly affected in the race.

Finally we have Race B, which comprises a four-lap sprint race of the Autodrome Lago Maggiore Full Course’s reverse layout in the Gr.3 cars.

Other than the softer-than-standard Racing Medium tires, there’s not an awful lot of note about this race. Just pick your preferred Gr.3 car — and the BMW M6 GT3 is the one coming to the fore again this week — and go all-out from lights to flag.

Daily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in Gran Turismo 7. Your Driver Rating (DR) and Sportsmanship Rating (SR) are determined by your performances, updating at the end of each race, and these are used to set your ranking and league for the game’s flagship esports series each season.

In order to access the Daily Races, you’ll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe single player hub. A PlayStation Plus subscription is required to take part.

With GT7’s Daily Races updating every Monday across the game’s life to date, the next new set should arrive on Monday, January 5, 2026.
