A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is available from Friday morning in your local time zone, with a fresh set of five races to take on over the next seven days.
Weekly Challenges are composed of five events for players to race through over a the course of a week — whenever they choose — with four from the existing races in the World Circuits menu and a fifth “Special Event” that appears for one week only. Completing the races, by finishing third or better in each event, earns bonus rewards that increase in value as you check off more events.
There’s no particularly low-ball race this week, with the pace and prize money spectrum beginning at the new Japanese FF Challenge 450 race added in March’s content update. It’s a short, three-lap run around the rarely used Tokyo Expressway Central Counterclockwise course for any front-wheel drive road car from Japan, offering 45,000cr for taking the win.
This week’s Special Event is up next, with the Peugeot 205 GTI the car required for a four-lap ride around the Eiger Nordwand rollercoaster. You can tune the Pug up however you like, but bear in mind that there’s just 60,000cr on the table if you win.
Another one-make follows, although this time it’s a one-marque event really. Any roadgoing Nissan GT-R car from any generation is eligible — including the Safety Car — for this five-lapper at the also rarely seen Blue Moon Bay Infield A Reverse track. Beware that you’ll need Sports tires for the race, and your choice of car can’t exceed the Performance Point (PP) cap of 700PP. Winning the race earns you 70,000cr.
If you fancy it, you can use the same car for the next event: the Race of Turbo Sportscars at Grand Valley Highway-1 Reverse. The same 700PP cap applies, with the additional limitation that your car must be equipped with a turbocharger to take part, and there’s 75,000cr available for victory.
A high-payout race awaits us in the final slot, with the World Touring Car 800 event at the Nurburgring Endurance circuit. The 800PP limit and the requirement to use Racing Tires are the only limitations in this three-lap race which awards 200,000cr should you win. Watch out for high tire wear and fuel consumption here though…
We’re back to credit tickets for this week’s bonuses, with 100,000cr, 200,000cr, and 500,000cr for completing any one, any three races, and all five races respectively. Don’t forget that these are tickets, rather than actual credit rewards, and will need to be redeemed from within the Gifts section of your Garage.
You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday April 25.
