Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: The Hondataker

More new Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges are becoming available to players around the world, ticking over to a new set as Friday morning arrives in your local time zone.

This bonus game mode is available to players who’ve finished the main GT Cafe career, and consists of five race events from the World Circuits section — as marked out by a special green element — with some extra rewards for completing them during the week.

At present, and until the changes coming along in Spec III, you’ll be faced with four events drawn from existing races, with a fifth “Special Event” that’s created just for the week.

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges – October Week 5 Races

European Sunday Cup 500 – Eiger Nordwand

This week’s entry-level race comes in the European Sunday Cup 500 at Eiger Nordwand. Don’t worry about the “500” part of the name, which is just a suggested Performance Point (PP) value for a competitive race against the lead AI. In reality you can use any Road car from any European brand for this three-lap race that lands you 35,000cr for victory.

Japanese 4WD Challenge 600 – Nurburgring Sprint

Unusually, the Nurburgring hosts two races this week, and the first comes at the short Sprint course in the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600. Again, this isn’t a PP-limited race, and you just need an AWD car — Road or Tuned — from a Japanese brand to take part, with 40,000cr the reward for winning the three-lap race.

Porsche Cup – Nurburgring Nordschleife

The second Nurburgring race is a one-lapper at the Nordschleife in the Porsche Cup. As the name here suggests, you’re going to need a Porsche and it can be any model of any type and in any state of tune so long as it’s within the 650PP limit. There’s a very fast-finishing AI car which spends much of the race behind others, so watch out down the Dottinger Hohe if you want the unusually not-round-thousands 52,500cr prize for victory here.

Special Event – Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps

We have the Special Event up next, and it’s a bit of a costly affair. You’ll need the classic Honda RA272 F1 car — which celebrated the anniversary of a first ever Honda, and Japanese, F1 win last weekend — and if you don’t already have one it’s a 2.5-million credit purchase as a Special Pick in the Legends Cars store right now. The whole field consists of a fleet of them in natty, throwback F1 liveries but also standard tune and it’s not a difficult four-lap race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Your reward is just 75,000cr for winning…

World Touring Car 800 – Daytona Road Course

Another outing for the Daytona Road Course, joining this week’s Daily Race C, finishes the events off. As usual it’s a WTC event, and we’re back in the WTC800. The AI field is exclusively Gr.3 cars, but you can use anything on any Racing tire up to 800PP for this one. Watch out for relatively steep tire wear, but you should be able to grab victory in this ten-lapper and land the 154,000cr reward.

We’re back to a single reward type this week, with all three bonuses presented in the form of credit tickets. These will need to be redeemed from your Garage’s Gifts to claim the values within.

Completing any one of the five events awards you a 100,000cr ticket, with that rising to a 200,000cr ticket for finishing any three. Sweep the set and you’ll earn the regular big-value 500,000cr ticket.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday November 7.
