Polyphony Digital has revealed more about the upcoming “Part 1” of the split Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update, including the date it will arrive: October 15.
Presenting a new trailer at the 2026 Gran Turismo World Series Round 3 event in Singapore, host Jules Hardy and commentator Jimmy Broadbent covered some of the details about the first half of this unusual update.
The headliner is the detail we already knew, of course, with Sugo Circuit making its series debut after appearing as part of this weekend’s racing activities.
Although we had already seen six cars in the initial trailer, it transpires that this wasn’t the complement for the “1.72” Part 1. Five of the six will still appear in the October update, but you’ll have to wait until December for the V10 BMW M5. Instead we’re getting the Ferrari F355, which is a pretty acceptable substitute:

That means that the car content line-up for 1.72 is as follows:
- Citroen 2CV Charleston 1986
- Ferrari F355 Berlinetta 1994
- Honda Civic Si Group A Version 1987
- Honda Stepwgn Spada 2023
- Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo
- Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo
In addition to the content revealed in the video, Jules and Jimmy spoke about a couple of the features coming in Spec IV Part 1.
That includes the Car Viewer feature, which allows you to walk around your vehicle and take snaps in a choice of settings, and a new “Experiences” mode with events within the Brand Central dealerships for certain brands similar to those in GT2.

A few more details were revealed about the Car Concierge feature too, although it’s not shown in the trailer above.
As we’d surmised, this feature allows you to order rare cars that you might not be able to pick up at that time due to the rotation of the Legends Dealer. Notably the clip shows that you can order a low-mileage car in “mint condition”, or a higher mileage vehicle which we assume will be a lower price.
All of the cars shown in the clip are single-livery racing machines, so it remains to be seen if you can order specific colors of those cars available with different finishes. There’s also an obvious premium for using the service, with the W196R example shown at 20,789,980cr — the first car requiring more than 20,000,000cr to buy in the history of the series…
We’d previously seen multiple order slots locked out, but in the clip there’s four slots available to the CL90 player so we’d assume more slots unlock as you increase your Collector Level.

Other features previously teased haven’t been covered any further, so we’re expecting the December “Part 2” to bring Shuffle, Online Drift Challenge, Family Mode, and others alongside Autumn Ring. It’s likely we’ll hear more about this at the Gran Turismo World Series World Final in Tokyo in December.
As for Part 1, that arrives on Thursday October 15, and it’s likely to be a decent-sized download and — as with Spec II and Spec III — feature a preload period too.
