Logitech G Challenge Kicks Off for 2019 Season

If you fancy following in Igor Fraga’s footsteps and becoming the Logitech G — and McLaren Shadow — champion, your opportunity starts here.

The Logitech G Challenge qualifiers are starting to get underway around the world now. They’ll give eight drivers the opportunity to fight it out to become Logitech G champion and represent the brand at the 2019 McLaren Shadow final.

For 2019 there’ll be four regions in the Logitech G Challenge, with two drivers from each region heading to the Grand Final in late 2019. Gamers can qualify through the online qualifying events in their region, or also by regional wildcard events. Aside from the Latin America region, which uses Gran Turismo Sport, all the qualifiers, wildcards and finals events will use Project CARS 2. All regions but Latin America are open to PC and PS4 users, with European players also able to qualify on XBox One.

The dates for the qualifiers are as follows:

  • USA — June 23-September 22
  • Europe — June 24-July 22
  • Asia-Pacific — July 1-August 4
  • Latin America — July 22-August 30

There’s two additional wildcard events, both for Europe, currently scheduled for October. Players from Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg can qualify via the Firstlook Festival in Utrecht on October 5-6, with UK players able to take part from October 17-20 at EGX in London. There are further wildcard events yet to be announced.

The finals events then take place through September to November across the various regions:

  • Latin America Final, Mexico City — September 1
  • USA Final, Online — October 6
  • Asia-Pacific Final, Melbourne — October 12
  • Europe Final, Cologne — November 9

As well as the potential spot at the McLaren Shadow final, and on the McLaren Shadow esports team, there’s a number of other prizes available. These differ region-to-region, but include cash prizes and Logitech Ready to Race bundles — consisting of a G29/G920 Steering Wheel, Playseat Evolution LGC-Edition, and G935 Headset.

You’ll need to register via the official Logitech G Challenge site in order to take part.
