SEMA 2018

This year marks the 50th anniversary for the Hot Wheels brand. To celebrate, Mattel kicked off a 15-city tour back in April to find a custom vehicle that embraced the Hot Wheels style. The winner would then get the honor of their car joining Hot Wheels die-cast fleet. Now, after several months of competition, we finally have our winner.

Every year thousands of vendors and about 70,000 people attend the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year, I had the opportunity to check out the show myself and was completely blown away by everything.

Since 2003 one of the most coveted prizes at the SEMA show is the Gran Turismo Award. Hopefuls from around the world wait and see if their vehicle will find its way into a future Gran Turismo video game. The competition is always amazing and this year was no exception.

Next year sees Chevrolet celebrating the 50-year anniversary of the original COPO Camaro. Naturally, Chevy intends to celebrate the occasion and has not one, but two models to mark the date.

Nissan’s latest Z-car is getting on a bit now. It’s knocking on the door of ten years old, and you might be expecting a new one any day. Well, at this year’s SEMA show, the Japanese automaker debuted an updated model — but it may not be what you’d expect.

Apparently, someone at Dodge thinks the Hellcat is a bit underpowered. To rectify this, Mopar is coming to the rescue with a brand new crate engine it took the wraps off of at SEMA 2018.

SEMA 2018 is in full swing and there are plenty of reveals to go around. A legend in the Chevrolet camp turns 50 next year and, as you can imagine, the Bowtie brand intends to celebrate it. Unveiled on Tuesday, Chevy will be offering an anniversary edition of the COPO Camaro.
