    I wonder why they didn’t sort out that white aura around car when zoomed closer. It probably comes from colission of HDR and very rough DOF smoothing (that smoothing already collides with periodic structures in the background like tribunes and it really catches an eye). But in replays of past GT’s were very close shots and they looked always very well. Prologue is full of wide and panning views to show that aura as few as possible. It’s just shame…

    I, personally, don’t mind these videos. Without them, we would have any “news” in a month, besides the April 1st thing. I’m feeling an E3 release date, since it’s only a couple of months away. If there isn’t a release date by then, then GT5 isn’t coming out in 2010.

    Yeah, the total lack of anything is quite odd. It’s also a bit frustrating since they must know by now how eager we are for news. Is this a tactic, perhaps? We may never know. But what I do know is that there haven’t been any major developments in the news for, what must be, months now. That’s just not good enough. Of course, the only other times in development that such quietness exists is much, much earlier on; I hope that I’m wrong… Ah, if only my G25 worked with the 360… Still, at least F1 has a date, and Codies are pretty swift about their deliveries.

    Nice videos but I can’t believe how quiet news has gone for GT5. If the delays are to do with 3D my biggest fear is that the game is just sat there while the 3D part is added. I really think PD should have released GT5 and added 3D into GT6.

    The only thing I don’t understand about the delay is Sony’s strategy. There are many people on here saying ‘the game is ready for launch – i’ts Sony’s fault, not PD”.

    But, if I was Sony, I would want at least two (main) titles launched in the playstation 3’s lifespan, not just the one. GT6 will never be PS3! PS1 had two titles (1+2), PS2 had two (3+4). So surely it makes economic sense (in game sales speak) to have 5+6 on PS3?

    In theory they are one title down in sales volumes… why is that Sony’s choice?

    Beats me.

    I know what you mean. But for me GT is all about the GT-mode. Always has been and always will be. That’s how I got to know GT and that’s what I love it for since the first one came out. It actually was the first game I got for my PS1 when I was about seven years old.
    That’s why the AI is so important for me. Of course…I will play online with others, but only after I finished the GT-mode.

    Well, I’m just hoping for ANY european cars from the 80’s, let alone specifics. Who knows what will be included. It is all down to PD’s car selection ‘wheel of fortune’. GT4 had no Porsche 959 but had a Volvo 240 GLT estate… go figure?

    Why is there zero news from Sony or PD? Why? Please, before I have a nervous breakdown.

    Here’s another take on the sound – it’s done like that as it’s at PD’s offices and they don’t want to have any background chatter in. Though I think it’s more likely that the fidelity of sound coming from a speaker and then being recorded into a cam is such that it would never sound ideal.
    I also reckon that the camera shake is done to stop any half decent investigation into imagery going on.
    Nice one PD, I hope you’re getting kick out of the positive vibe you’re getting from folk here (except Granpa Mustangmiha who’s upset with anything and everything since the war).

    Who cares about the “AI” if the online game play looks anything close to this i won’t be playing alone………. 16 decent/ good divers on a sick track is all i need …. THATS AI !!!

    @ LeStique<<the physics is as good as it gets my friend, its the ai that sucks, it always has, they dont make much mistakes…in gt5p they make silly mistakes not MISTAKES…like when ur braking thy just ram into u….and they dont stop when there is an accident! or slow down they just keep moving like nothing ever happened and that pisses me off! nfs shift was great at AI forza…i can't really say anything coz i haven't played it yet, i hope they DO NOT DELAY GRAN TURISMO AGAIN! ITS COZ OF ALL THIS SUGGESTIONS THATS KEEPING THE GAME FROM COMING OUT! ARGHHH!!

    Yes and that is what I was talking about in my first comment…the choice of difficulties, either by changing the realism (standard, advanced, pro??) or changing the AI’s difficulties. The last comment was just made to clarify meschumi what I was talking about. So don’t get me wrong. I know it’s just a game and so on…I was only wishing to have more realistic physics and better AI or AI-difficulty-settings.

    I really don’t think that someone who thinks it’s possible to overtake an enzo (660bhp) with a lambo lp560-4 (and yes you got this one right, it’s 560 bhp) on a straight line (and the last bend at Indianapolis kinda is) should judge what others are saying about cars. You have to consider, that the enzo has exactly 100bhp more and both weight around 1350kg. So that a lot more power/weight for the enzo, isn’t it? And on a straight line all this clever four-wheel-drive stuff doesn’t effect the acceleration (apart from the start, where you have more traction). So just to calm you down…I only was talking about that bit, where the lambo is actually overtaking the enzo and therefor I was only talking about acceleration from lets say 100 to 200. Got it? But even though I doubt that the lambo could catch up that easily, even in the bends.

    Ah and about the scuderia thing…It is NOT faster then an enzo. Maybe similar quick, but not faster so it can catch up and overtake an enzo in less then a lap…think about it

    Sorry Forza 3 is completely horrible. I actually bought an xbox360 only for that game and Im selling that xbox right now. Online Racing in Forza 3 is absolute gargabe and single player is boring as f***. You always race agains the same cars. Only those people who never played Forza 2 say that Forza 3 is good….well Forza 2 is actually much metter than 3
    And one more thing all Turn10 cares about is your money by releasing an expensive carpack every month…uggh…turn10 makes me sick….and then they’re banning you from the online section because you glitched some money…but how can you buy some cars for 20 000 000 credits ? You have to race 6 onth to get that amount of money…sorry Im not a house nerd…I got a life…I cant race 6 months to buy one car from the game

    True that, shwtt. But as Forza is not an PS3-option it doesn’t really help that much. Does it?
    Anyway, there are a lot of fairly cheap, used 360:s on the market nowadays.
    If the hurtin’s getting too bad, there’s no better way to ease on the waitin’.

    the AI looks very bad they never oversteer or understeer they are just driving in the same line kinda like in prologue :(

    I love both GT and Forza franchises but all these video ‘leaks’ really makes me want GT5 more now than ever. Looks great, hoping PD follows suit cuz T10 left a lot to be desired with GT5. I’d really like to know what the actual 200ish cars we don’t know about will be.

    I would do the same, but there aren’t many other games that I’d like, so I’m just waiting for the GT5. And anyway, I already have it preordered, so when it does(n’t) come out, I can(‘t) just go pick it up @ GameStop.

    lp560-4 cant keep up with a enzo?? are u retarded???…dude a f430 scudaria with a 483hp engine laps fiorano faster than an enzo. the lambo lp560-4 was designed to compete with scudaria. so it puts up numbers similar to that of the scudaria. also note (Lp-560) the 560 stands for 560 f@ckin horses. the reason you saw understeer was because the person driving was braking really late, he was fortunate that the lambo is 4 wheel drive (i.e. plently of room for mistakes)

    Awesome vids! But we need sound! The car sounds in other GTs are terrible and weak! If you look at GT5P and go in a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi for example, the engine noise is immense in that car especially from interior view in real life, but in GT5P you just get a hummm not a growl like it should be, and i know how they sound because my dad currently has one in that spec! You hear a tiny burble low revs if you have it in 6th gear at about 2000 rpm but that’s it!

    We need to have sounds in these vids so we know if the sound has improved! On previous vids i have heard the LP560-4 and it doesn’t sound much like real life especially at high revs but i don’t no if that’s because of the camera used and not from in game like u can in forza or what. I would be able to tell straight away if it sounds like it should do because it is my 2nd favourite car and i can tell if i hear a V10 from a lambo a mile off!

    Bearing in mind the video isn’t from the finished product, it still looks better than Forza.

    Now i’m not a Forza basher or anything just stating the point. Really looking forward to this game and glad the Supra is staying it is aswell!

    I didn’t know the Enzo had that deployable back flap while under braking (like the Mercedes SLR McLaren). Then again, I’m not seriously an Enzo fanatic. It’s still amazing to think Gran Turismo would even feature Ferrari AND Lamborghini. So many people have complained about not seeing these cars for as long as this series has been around. Now we have these lovely cars and more. PD’s lineup is made better with these marques, but I’ve always thought GT had a decent lineup of cars even despite a few aforementioned big name makes not being featured in GTs past.

    I really don’t like the Bloom/blur halo around the car when the sun is really on the car, the effect not very well done… but the rest is just amazing. I was so turned down by the final gameplay visual of Forza3: so much flashy videogame compared to Polyphony’s search for the perfect global lighting and reflections.

    @mk1992… here’s hoping for a really concrete date because if E3 doesn’t give out a release date, I may just give up coming on this game simply because I want to get on with other games. I know that may be being a bit harsh but it’s how I feel at this moment in time.

    Why another website (The Magic Box) says that these videos are published by Sony?
    They say “Sony released new videos of Gran Turismo 5” in their headline for those same videos from mimaximax: http://www.the-magicbox.com/1004/game100405a.shtml

    I think that there is PD behind these videos somehow. But I doubt Sony.
    Like others have said before: there are a lot of consistency in these videos, non-copyrighted music dubbing the engine sounds, Sony tv (looks like a non-consumer model), no tripod to add false “amateur” feeling…

    But still great videos!

    @Peewee37, the issue of skidmarks in my opinion is thus… GT keeps on claiming to be the ‘real driving simulator’ right? Well as much as the cars and environments look so real, when a car’s tyres lose grip, for GT to not show tyremarks, this makes the game look ‘fake’. For me, when playing other racing games, and I lose grip or perform a burnout at the start, it becomes a visual pleasure seeing the rubber being laid on the tarmac. Plus skidmarks add dynamic character to the racetrack. How on earth KY & PD can overlook this aspect is beyond me.

    @2:13 in the second video you can clearly see the Enzo going too wide on the corner to avoid the player driven Lambo. Nice and realistic AI response, opposite to the crazy bumping we’re used to :)

    Mmmh…..I am done with those demo videos. I am exited to get a new trailer by PD, but thos demo videos sucks and are boring as hell.

    The music of the second video is over the top, but I like the music of the first one. Perfect for the GT menu, very relaxing.

    I am also beginning to think that this is PD feeding us vids…..the choice of music is peculiar and sounds like the slideshow music from photo mode. Also some of the most special cars we cannot hear the sound of it is very annoying but at the same time exciting because I think that PD would like to blow our socks off with the lambo’s v10 and the enzo’s v12 when the game ships.

    Who knows…this mystery guy feeding us the vids might post more in the coming days with teh sound from the enzo and the lp560-4, and then my theory goes out the window..lol

    I’ve been reading the comments associated with all these videos for the last few weeks and find most of them frustratingly surprising!
    I find it funny that everyone jumps to conclusions and follows-the-leader without bothering to use some simple information gathering capabilities. Case in point: how many here just wait to be fed new info by gtplanet instead of exploring more? In this case, if you go to Mimaximax’s youTube page, you’ll find it very explicitly noted that these videos are from CES 2010. Further, if you watch (and listen!) to some of the videos not linked from gtplanet, you’ll see the reflection of the camera person in the tv screen as well as people walking by on the trade floor, you’ll hear people talking as well as other GT5 demos playing in the background, and (surprise, surprise) you’ll actually hear the engine sounds from the demo being filmed!
    It’s possible music is used on the other videos to drown out the background noise and it’s possible that PD is sanctioning these videos, but must of the other uneducated speculation being purveyed here is absolute ignorant crap.

    im gonna agree with everyone else that these videos were “leaked” from GT headquarters and is merely to stimulate fan interest and hold us over… and the reason for no sound? I think PD realized that their cars sounded like crap, and needed a last-minute overhaul to be competitive with forza 3, whose cars actually sound like they should! whoever recorded this is under strict orders not to let the sound of the cars onto the video, and instead put s**t music in its place. Besides, what real GT fan would put such horrible music overtop of the cars engine?

What did you expect to see when you clicked on this site? Just favorite gran-turismo.com and check up on there website for new info on GT5, If you can find any.

I think it is utterly ridiculous that Poly Dig. is not giving an ounce of information on a game so anticipated by its fandom that their only way to cope with no information is watching videos of what could be in the game. For all we know, this game could be releasing in 2012, ya know?

    People need to understand that this is filmed from some kind of Toyota Exhibition, where you can play the demo. Lots of background noise due to people talking etc. Hence the music instead of the game sounds.

    Pasigiri, you will not get to see those Lamborghinis from this poster. He or she has a copy of the demo(s) that we have been seeing for a while now. No new cars or tracks if you have been following GT5’s progression.

    I love how much detail is put into this game. Like the spoilers moving up and down when you get past a certain speed, or when you break on the SLR. Gotta love accuracy!

    It looks good again. I still hope that the game engine that is used is not the final one. This because of the lines above the cars when they are zoomed in. And other small things. Strange that the Mc laren F1 can’t keep up with the rest of the field. I wonder if the Lamborghini Diablo will be in GT5? Keep em comming.

    No wonder they dont put car sounds… they get picked apart by us… fittingly though, as sounds still fail to satisfy. I would love to compare the sound of those 2 beasts against Forza’s own sounds to see if theyre comparable or better

    Seriosly i think theyre just masquerading the sounds with music

    HOW did you get this video is it a demo. I agree that these videos are sweet but it has been 2 long. Admin can you get some information on when the demo is comming out. The time trial is no longer working GTP has been completed 3 time and yet still nothing new losing faith in PD SAD TO SAY.

    @Mickle Pickle: I too, have the same suspicion.

    Anyone who has the privilege to have access to this sort of material HAS to be under some strict embargo. Other consistencies across these videos are good reasons to be suspicious too. The TV used is without a doubt a very decent one, it’s hard to believe the poster who went through all the trouble to record these never-before-seen footage doesn’t have access to a tripod, even a budget one considering you can find them dirt cheap and they are readily available. Also, with such material on hand, why the consistently lack of engine/car sound and why are all the videos dubbed with unfitting music? Especially when in-game sound has been (and still is) previous GTs’ biggest weakness and there has been almost no official information thus far on sound in GT5.

    Seems like all those mention above were intentionally done to keep someone happy (most likely for business/strategy reasons) while feeding fans like us with limited information.

    Doesn’t matter if these were purposely “leaked” by PD or not, they are VERY welcome and definitely make waiting for a release date a bit easier. The game’s looking good.

    Actually I love those ‘news’ because they are the only life sign we get from gt5 at the moment. Even though I wish that someday I’ll visit this site and I read: “Release Date Announced”. But until then…stop whining and be happy with what is offered to you.

    The Lambo looks great, love the real one. Even though I hope that he was driving with standard-physics, because it looked pretty unrealistic. Too much grip and oversteer in the lambo. But I’ll wait ’til I see some ‘advanced’ footage. Also the AI seems to be at easiest setting. The LP-560-4 shouldn’t be able to keep up with an enzo.

    Anyway: Whoever you are, keep posting videos (and tell me how to get the demo =) )

    I love the LP 560-4!!! But the enzo is also great haha. Why is there no sound… :( I want to hear those cars. We all know it looks great, but we also want to hear what it is like.

    Must be Kaz feeding us with the vids to keep us happy, despite Sony’s restriction to NOT allow PD to show any official revelations on the game until further notice… no matter where it’s coming from… This looks good and i still cannot wait for the game to be released !! C’mon a Date guys… that should not be too hard should it ???.
