GT5 Demo Collection is Real, Includes Garage Video

Gran Turismo 5 March 24th, 2010 by Jordan

First things first: two independent sources have privately confirmed to me that the GT5 Demo Collection is real, and the original whistle-blower lherre has backed up his announcement with more screenshots. This collection is also providing a closer look at things we only got to peek at during the shows where these demos were originally featured.

For example, the above video is from the CES 2010 demo, which included a somewhat mesmerizing look at the available cars in a warehouse/garage. In lherre’s new screenshots below, you can get a closer look at damage on the SLS AMG’s bodywork.

it will not be offered for ps2 because the ps2 is not advanced enough to handle it

Another “look-what-PD-is-not-gonna-give-us” video :D. The game is really looking awsome…now if it could only be released (I can wait till the Holiday season, I’m already filled with playing MAG, UC2, MC:LA, FFXIII, Warhawk, Bad Co. 2. seriously no more games for me for a while)

Noone noticed, that the doors are a bit cracked open? Both, left and right. But the scratches were missing here, put both together and it would be adequate in my eyes. Much more important is the physical damage, to stop those dumbasses in online mode, kicking you from the road…

i’m just going to drive nurburgring over, and over, and over again….
and for those who don’t like the music, the music is awesome, you have no taste. gt5 is a much classier production, i would be appalled by anything else.

Totally agree with you about the TT demo. I can only assume plan A was to use that event to move copies of GT5 but since it wasn’t ready they had to go with plan B.

What is interesting was the lack of polish on the TT demo. The new physics were awesome but they didn’t have time to clean it up. I don’t buy for a minute they dumb’d it down in the graphics department on purpose. It was as good as they could deliver it at that time.

That sort of tells us they have a ways to go to get everything looking as nice as the R246 track. I think we might see a release late Q4 but I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out in 2011.

That garage is nice and all but Project Gotham FTW, Whats missing is that depending the number of cars u get, the more “garage areas” you unlock to shamelessly rip PGR off. Anyways thats more like a game space, cuz, the FT86 wasnt even around when it was selected… so no ” walk up to the car, give it a look around, open the door, get in and drive” at least from what it looks like. That said, it looks absolutely gorgeous( the cars, the actual hangar, meh). I dont know if he selected the car to race @ tokyo or to showcase the car driving @ tokyo.

And sadly, I dont know what to make out of this…will us getting that demo would really mean another delay…to “polish” an already polished looking game? Only MORE time will tell

Jesus… I love how the cars look. Tokyo looks pretty bad ass in the video too. I hope they release a demo similar to this on the PSN.

By the way… Is there something wrong with images on the site? Every image now claims that you need to be on this site to see it even when you are on this site…

I really hope that is going to be our excat carage, and you can actually drive your cars in it the way you want them to be.

Unless PD have a sudden change of heart we aren’t going to see this game in Autumn anyway.

Obviously something is either wrong with the game or Yamauchi doesn’t like the colour of the grass, or the reflections on buildings on R246 and it’s all gone back to the drawing board again. Since the botched March release for Japan, we’ve heard absolutely nothing from PD or Sony other than guff about GT academy.

There’s no release plan in effect, and if they are still messing around “honing”, I can’t see them getting the game into a state where it would be ready to go to print three months prior to Sept/Oct. That leaves them until June to get it 100% finished. With the rate at which PD work, in that time they’ll achieve almost nothing.

    Edited to make sense.

We are not getting this demo! At least I hope not, because that would mean the release of the real game would delay until 2011. PD and Sony have a track record of this. We got the TT because the release date got slipped to late 2010, not March. If we get another ‘demo’……..we won’t see GT5 in autumn.

Wow the Tokyo track has never looked so good.
however whether we will see this as a general release demo, I would like to say Hell yeah but seriously doubt it. They can prove me wrong of course. But to think of it the guy thats managed to get his hands on one possibly shouldnt have it in the first place, but there you go.
