the r32 is awesome, i love it, i have a r33, r34 and r32 all fully tuned, between 700 and 850 hp ! i love the gtr serioes !
I’ve just finished them and I get a SKYLINE GT-R V Spec II (R34) ’00 . The only mods where suspension and transmission
forced retirement again , exactly like the silvia tt , the game crashes when passing the pit lane at end of 1st lap , not good

@ psball , buy custom suspension & set parameters to calsonic gtr r32 race car standard , it won every race it entered in jgtc so that convinced me ! if you dont have it they are spring rate F 13.8 R 11.8 , damp ext F&R 8 , damp comp F&R 8 , roll bars F&R 6 , camber F 1.0 R 0.5 , hope this helps , ive been out due to it freezing as i pass the pit after 1st lap , good luck !

Yes it is possible to borrow the academy cars. I’ve been lending my cars to a friend of mine who didn’t take part in this year’s GT Academy, and he’s been using them with no problems whatsoever.

The only 2 cars worth having are the GT-R Tune Car and the 340Z Tune Car, your not missing out on the other ones

I guess I’ll put the disc back in for a day to catch up on all the ”chase the rabbit” ai races. Been playing Dirt3 and F1 2011. PD could learn something from Codemasters about Ai.
Believe me or not, creating AI in the game which is based on the arcade is much easier than on the simulation.
If it’s that easy, then why can’t PD make it so your opponents match you car’s performance? seriously, i was racing in my Samba Bus and I was put against SL500s, Mustangs and Jaguars XK8s. A freaking Samba Bus with a stock transmission, suspension and with 78HP. This means that the A.I is heavily underpowered in its abilities, reason why PD now depends in the pathetic method of “chasing the rabbit.” Even TRASH like NFS Shift has more lively A.I.
They need to work on the way that the A.I calculates your performance. I keep getting cars that are way above my league. Or a solution would be the Event Generator.
Change your tires to comfort hard tires before you enter the race. Then change them. You’ll get a different field of cars depending on tire grip.

The AI from the F1 series from Codemasters is horrendous… They honestly have no idea what a blue flag means and most of the time they ride on rails. Head over to their forum and you’ll see tons of complaints.
@Sasek – and where do you have that kind of Hard evidence information from, I am so curious to know your answer.. because that kind of answer must be based on some real technical Knowledge ?
The A.I In GT5 isn’t that Clever at all, they having got any kind clever thinking in blocking or in attacking, and they often just follow a path and calculates the closet way back to it, when pushed away from it, they are only based on getting from A to B, and maybe that’s ok for you, and therefore you defend it like that, but when we have these Seasonal Races in a Simulation Race game, i would suspect some real opponents instead of just this kind of rabbit hunt..
If you drive among them only to see how they race the Race, you will see, that they aren’t going for the Win or podium, they are just a bunch of followers.. And that isn’t called Artificial intelligence in a Racing Game, that is called Dummies on the track..
In Shift 2, they race among them self’s, and they are challenging to race against, maybe in your eyes Shift 2 is a Arcade, but in my Eyes Shift 2 is a Semi race Simulator, that gives you lots of Fun races against A.I Race Cars..
A.I in my eys in the year 2012, should be challenging and should behave like they see your moves, and collects the Data from your driving, and then defend them self’s against you, just like a Normal Race driver would do in real life.. That’s Artificial Intelligence in the Space age year of 2012, for god sake man, we have been sending people to the moon like almost 50 years ago, and we have send numerous numbers of Unmanned spacecrafts to the end of the Solar system, and then PD which gets all the Prizes and glories can’t only make something that isn’t even close to A.I.. Sorry that isn’t good enough PD and apparently Sasek :o)
I am very disappointed over the A.I in GT5 regardless what ever you say Sasek, But my future hope is that GT6 will have some Real A.I Drivers in the game, that we can give the proper name A.I – Simply as that.. And further more PD have updated the A.I several times, but we all know that it’s not there yet, far from actually!! But we have what we have, and they are much interested in going for the Bling instead of the UmF –
GT5 is a Showroom for the Car industry, that’s why it really isn’t a Race simulator, it’s a Driving Simulator, with old folks on the road <– Now that's funny right there :P ( Ps. A little to harsh i know, and I don't really mean it that Bad – BUT!! )

@BeerBro At least they TRY! I ram an F1 2011 race a couple days ago, as the first race in the season, Melbourn. I got a grid penalty so started last. I’m in a Force India, so it’s slower, and I’m on intermediate Ai- no driving aids. I had some good battles with Ai, and on the last few laps I was holding of Button, which was very difficult. It was a 30% race, something like 17 laps and I placed 15th. The point is that it WAS a RACE, not follow the leader to try to catch rabbit Ai.
Dirt 3 on difficulty level 5 on rally cross with cars, or with buggies or trucks can be very challenging and fun. There’s no reason GT can’t have at least that good ai. Some call GT5 physics ”arcade”. I won’t go there, but F1 2011 and D3 have good physics with all aids off- if a little on the arcade side, still good.
Thats true, the AI suk in this game. But the AI in these seasonal events are quite tough
I think people just think “AI” means how fun the computer is. Either that, or they’re that ignorant about how programming works.
And I don’t mean any offence with the ignorant comment. It’s not like I’m a programer, but I at least get that it’s one of the most frustratingly complex jobs to do.
And that is why PD only hire professionals to do the jobs in the Company – Come on Guys WHo is acting ignorant here – PD is a Sony based Company which is one of the biggest in Japan, with many years on there baG – you sound like PD is a bunch of Indu folk doing Mods for a Race game, that is created by grownups – They are the real deal :o) – And btw I don’t mean any offence either – But you need to wake up and understand that PD is Business like Codemasters – Ubisoft and all the other developers in the game industry, and apparently PD needs to up the A.I in many peoples opinion, even the reviewers on the magazines Game Sites and very clever game testers is failing GT5 on that issue – It’s that simple.. :o)
Any work in GT5 is a tough piece work, and it demand clever strong creative people to do it, The game wouldn’t be Released if there wasn’t prof coders on the Team..
I’ve been working lots with modding, and in modding communities, and One friend of mine is the Creator of the first NN-Bots for Counstrike way back i time, and He is today A Chef over 17 companies in Denmark, which is creating programs, IT-solution, Virus protection softwares , and more etc: A real Bad ass Mastermind – He says that even it’s complicated Coding, it’s just a matter of keep on working on the code, to create the best kind of attitudes and paths for the AI. and It’s not simple No!, but that’s why they Hire clever people to do the Job, and there isn’t any limits to what you can Code for the cars A.I, it’s just creative thinking and Lots of Coding that does the magic, so the only limitation is on K.Y shoulders :o)..
Again PD has to up the A.I to be more interesting to Race against and with in the game..
They just need to do it better next time, that is all there is to say and No Offence meant at all.. just one opinion on the matter :o)

you could download Academy via say British account like i did. Then played on Czech account with no problems.

Thank Kaz for that. I’m from France and I strongly sympathize with all those GT fans who are discriminated against just because they’re not from such and such country. What harm would it do to reward anyone not eligible for the GT Academy with the same cars I got so they can partake in those special events?

I would strongly suggest that the cars from this year’s GT Academy should be allowed to be sent to other people, because I want to own every GT Academy Car by doing the duplication process. I want this to happen at GT5’s next Version Update.

I was able to tell people about the GT Academy seasonal event, with round 3 beginning today at 1pm, AEST with a one-make race at Grand Valley Speedway, and the 456pp time trial at Eifel 207A. The car used for round 3 is the Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec II (GT Academy) ’94.
(I had to borrow a friends’ Nissan Skyline R32 to do the event)
Why did it have to be grand valley?
I really hate that track. Used to love it but now it’s an annoyance! :(

I’ll be looking forward on doing this tomorrow. Of all the GT academy cars, the R32 and the Leaf were probably my favorites.
I know what I’ll do to this car. Everything stock except for the torque split and some tampering with the ballast. I know that will make a huge difference.
The Leaf was surprisingly fun Husky, I Agree.
The time trial was quite possible after some lap trying when leaving the car completely stock, no suspension or gearbox modifications (I won gold by .04x seconds and my driving skills are… average) but when trying to enter the Grand Valley race I get stuck at the loading screen. The loading balk goes really slow and doesn’t speed up and switch to the menu after 1/4 like it usually does. I have to quit and restart GT5 to solve that, I repeated 3 times but always the same problem. I don’t have that problem when entering other Seasonal event races or Grand Valley. Anyone got an idea how to fix this or having the same issue?
My location is Europe, it might be a server error not unlocking the event yet? Since the event isn’t up very long yet I don’t expect this to stay much longer, I’ll just keep patient and try again after some time.

You could try wiping the GT5 cache. There is a function to do that in the options section.
