    Has anyone else noticed the vast improvement in AI control? They’re actually TRYING to overtake other AI opponents, they go all over the track (to a degree) instead of on a fixed line, and they’ll back off if they’re trying to overtake you and they judge that they’ll hit you. Thanks ever so much, PD!

    This track is a stock track, not a result of the track editor, as was on the other *censored* video that showed all the tracks. Nice to see a new original track, though I hope some other classic tracks will appear as unlockables, Nurburgring aside, I would miss El Capitain and the two mediterranean tracks (Costa Di Amalfi and umm the other one)

    Regarding chase cam, not sure i’ve seen the “floating” chase cam people keep mentioning (it was in GT3? Really?) but if you think about it, whilst it might look nice it doesn’t make for a very accurate driving experience if it pans a little around the side of the car whilst you are driving. Surely the car can be admired in the replay?

    Like it or not, plenty people (including me) like chase cam and it’s awesome to see we will get nice engine sfx now (I haven’t played prologue admittedly)…as for realism, when there is true head tracking and i can see around me or exactly where the proximities of the car are, in relation to the road, then I will switch permanently to cockpit view.

    Not convinced so far that the head tracking in GT5 is much more than a gimmick, but maybe GT6….

    How awesome would it be if they actually made this circuit? It would be awesome in the Formula 1 Championship! Hopefully some country will adapt this circuit and make it real. I know it won’t happen, but no harm in having hope. :)

    The fact that this video has not been censored yet makes me think that Sony is letting it leak on purpose to restore excitement among us patient, but skeptical fans.

    This is fantastic footage of the capabilities of the Track Editor. I wonder are the buildings are placed or added? I like the Tire Loop it reminded me of Brands Hatch, hoping it can be added to any track we make maybe not. I do like the possibilities of the Track Editor. I know a number of us will try to re-create the tracks we would have liked in GT 5. I would do the same thing but I looking forward of making tracks some of you never even heard of. This is going to be fun…

    Odd how this guy clearly owns a copy of GT5, yet my local Gamestop clerk told me something that’s similar to what I keep reading alot of other people are being told — that the “tentative release date” (“tentative” as in “expect more delays”) is January 11 2011.

    I tell you what… I want to race that track! This course is crazy. About as crazy to GT5 as the Montserrat tracks in Forza 3. Looks awesome.

      The best chase view was in GT3. Why would they limit how you view the car? It looks stiff and artificial. I want to be able to look at the side of my car as the wheels sit flush in the fenders.

      You guys are the only ones I’ve ever known to complain about the chase cam. The car still drives the same…

      try to be a little bit less of an ass please.
      They had one little complaint, no where in any of the comments on this issue have I seen anyone say they don’t like the game because of it. Sometimes people want to be able to just drive and look at the car as it moves to get an appreciation for the months that it took Polyphony to create all the little details.

      Small things like this that can change are reasonable things to discuss. I just hate when people complain about something that can’t be changed, but the only thing that annoys me more than that, is people like you.

      @shift_drift It’s been a while since I’ve played GT3, so I had to go to go back and look at the Chase cam, and you’re spot on. It looks great, and GT5’s chase cam is a step backwards from that in my opinion, but other than that, GT5 looks like it is going to impress in every way possible. Can’t wait.

    Original track, infact amazing track this is what all the fuss is about and what is making the wait worth while. But why oh why do we have to have music playing whilst your racing. turn it off its pointless.

    – The AI looks much improved
    – I see no problem on this guy posting videos like this, where nothing really bombastic is revealed. It would be a problem if he posted videos of rollovers, stunt arenas, hard crashes, Spa etc.

    This is a cool looking track. Especially the banked circle and that turn right after the uphill jump. Come in too fast, man, that could get ugly.

    Where’s Red Rock Valley? Seriously, this track looks awesome. Just wish this guy would drive with an in cockpit view (which we see this car has at the start of the video)or hood, or bumper. Really, anything other than the behind the car view. To me, that gives the game an arcade feel, like you’re controlling a remote control car, not playing a driving simulator.

    wait…if the gt4 intro vid was different for the region like the u.s and eu intro vids were a little different with like music and stuff. this is an eu game right. it might not be the same as the u.s game when it comes out……makes you think….

      that aint not never better. rather it be music that usa is known for. like more van halen or some metallica lol. i did like the scenes in gt5 trailers where it showed fireworks at le mans and during rally. sort of a dirt 2 type deal where you go over a jump and fireworks shoot off everywhere

    Red_9 – that was my thought/hope that they’d reward our disappointment with a US release date on Nov 23rd which would land the Madrid party on a day that could be a release date..that would be super and don’t think that it would be unreasonable.

    Only one thing I did notice that seems a little oddd is the scale of some of the cars? The Focus looks a little huge next to the Beemer, also noticed that in one of the censored Miata videos, there was a Micra that looked more like an MPV, it dwarfed the Mazda

    I don´t want to be a hero or nothing but from Spain it is confirmed that the December 1st (Europe) the game will be at the stores. Sony maybe this Friday give us the confirmation.Or Jordan.
    That means that November 30 US; 1 December EU and 2 UK.
    Believe or not…but i trust more in myself and one big store who has the game at stock ready to go and waiting for Sony to make it real.Real for all. (remember what i said :P)

    I just compared the sound of this Z4 to the one in GT5P. Sound definitely improved a lot. I`m looking forward to tuned car sounds, but i think i won`t watch those vids. I want to experience that first hand :)

      I wish. They might as well for what he’s done for them! I would venture to say that he’s sold a dozen or so extra copies of the game just by having this site. Just a guess though.

    Called the Gamestop that I pre-ordered from and ask when I could pick up GT5 and she said CoD black ops? I said no GT5 and in a “your stupid” voice she said you cant pick it up till next year.

      My thoughts exactly – but if Sony arent trying to push all media outlets into an embargo, then why bother at all.

      My guess is Sony have subsequently told Jordan that it no longer matters, as a release date is imminent, and with video sharing services such as Youtube, trying to control a media leak is futile.

      Fingers crossed for a sooner than expected release.

      First of all, the IGN UK guy corrected himself that it would come out the 26th, not the 27th. I think he may be an IGN UK employee, although it’s def. not the IGN UK’s official twitter page.

      Drifter, you’re very right about this, but the fact that Nov 26th is “Black Friday” there is a possibility that the game could be released then for the occasion.

      nope the 26th is the UK date and the 27th is the US date. He corrected his statement that the 27th was the UK date.

    C. That Focus seems pretty damn persistent. Based off the cars, I’m going to say that race was either beginner or intermediate type AI. If so then it should be interesting.

    Also, Is there a likelihood that Sony will make you remove this one Jordan?

      looks like difficulty might be set low, since crashing didn’t seem to cause damage and apparently there is a correlation between the two.

      Nah.. you can see the grid line-up at the top of the screen during track loading (if you squint :D ) – it’s the Primera IMO.

      As for his driving, yeah it seems pretty good but who knows what level he’s on, what assists are on and so on. The track looks awesome, although no real tracks have jumps in them (any more). Slightly reminiscent of the original US GT where they put a bloody great jump on the back straight of Trial Mountain cos someone told Sony that Americans won’t buy racing games that don’t have jumps. Haha.

    “Source” as in he received the video from 5825, or is it as Sony has feared and “source” means the code is cracked, and 5825 pointed this user in the right direction to download it?

      5825 was a guy who posted one of the early gt5 leaked videos a few days ago. I bet they know eachother and this guy paid an enormous amount of money for it. I would pay $200 USD for it right now

      Either they’re lying (a distinct possibility), this video is also from 5825, or GT5 is already on Warez sites.

      They’ll probably go up a few days before the official release…..whenever that is.

      Yes it will but no point of taking it down until told. Keep them coming. Eventually Sony will get tired of saying “Take it down, Take it down” and give us the game. If they don’t have enough, fill the pre-orders and keep producing them until everyone has their copy.

      the veyron maybe? I think it’ll be a while before we see it. Think how long it took for you to save up for it in GT PSP or if it’s only unlockable by a high profile race. I just pray it’s premium. What do everyone think about this new track? it looks unbelievable. GT still makes the best original tracks by far

      Yeah i’m hoping to see it soon but i had it straight away in GT PSP because of the CE. The new track looks awesome, it looks like the Modnation Racers track editor when you are going round the right hander up to the jump, and there the scenery looks amazing! @Shokz – I think Amalfi Coast is in other GT Games.

      Veyron – Yes, but the one in Forza is quite different to the one in Gran Turismo, even though they’re both “based” on the real life location.

      agreed. fujimi kaido is the best original track outside of GT and it blows away many GT originals. High speed ring especially. plus those beginner courses in gt4 and gt psp, hong kong, etc. I could name more but I don’t want to annoy anyone because my opinion is different than theirs. Honestly I really do hate high speed ring though lol costa di amalfi is great in gt4 and gt psp as well

      I agree that the chase cam needs to be looser and actually angle when you turn. I would use that view (not with a wheel, though) if the fixed that problem! I mean, how hard would it be to do that? Though I’m mostly angry at PD for blinding you with an HUD that takes up the whole stinkin’ screen and not being able to adjust it. -1 on my part.
