Can You Make Out the 7 Cars Coming in Assetto Corsa’s Porsche Pack Vol 1?

Teasing. The slow reveal. Whatever you want to call it, we’d like to submit the latest image from Kunos Simulazioni’s Marco Massarutto as a textbook example. Originally shared on his personal Facebook page, the image up above shows the first seven Porsches set to land in Assetto Corsa, blurred enough to not make the exact contents obvious.

We’ve got a bead on at least five of the Stuttgart sports cars, though. From left to right:

The Cayman is identifiable thanks to the yellow/blue blob on the nose and yellow on the back half of the bodywork, the same livery the car originally wore on the autoshow circuit. Big brother 918 Spyder takes centre stage, and its ultra-low stance and trademark LED visage make it an easy car to pick out. The other recognizable cars have been teased by Kunos before.

That leaves the two cars flanking the hypercar. It’s highly likely one is the facelifted, turbocharged 2016 911 Carrera S (which has taken centre stage in previous teasers like the one above, and has already been caught on video). As one of the biggest changes to the standard 911’s makeup since the adoption of water-cooling in the late 90’s, it’s not surprising Porsche would want the new model highlighted in the acclaimed driving simulator.

No matter which of the mystery cars is the new Carrera, that still leaves a question mark over the final car of the pack. Given the similarities between the two in the teaser image, it could be any of the mid- or rear-engined cars in Porsche’s lineup: the Boxster/Cayman and 911 are almost identical in all measurements other than length.

Our money is on the road-going Cayman GT4. Not only is it one of the most critically-praised models in recent history, but it would have provided a solid base for its track-ready Clubsport cousin. Considering resale values are already placing the car above list price, this is likely to be the closest most of us will come to driving the GT4.

Hopefully Marco and the rest of the crew at Kunos spill the beans soon. We’ll make sure to report on any further developments regarding Porsche and Assetto Corsa, so stay tuned!

I have a personal debate between Porsche and the Prancing Horse. I love both which is a little like a Yankee fan who also roots for the Mets.

I would love to see Kunos produce the Porsche 959 which in my opinion was and still is a fantastic automobile. It’s (once fastest in the world) top speed of 195 keeps is relevant in today’s hyper car world. It’s use of 4WD makes it the target that others are still shooting at.

And it rare status (337+8 ever made) make it a must have/must drive automobile.
    And the sound it makes………………OMG.
I seriously wonder if Porsche will allow Kunos to reproduce it?

Why they shouldn’t? We saw the 959 in the Forza games, too. The only problem here is that the 959 wasn’t shown in the teaser trailer, the Carrera GT was missing, too. Kunos promised us 24 Porsches. Some cars will be missing, obviously. In the end, it’s the question what Porsche wants and what Kunos wants. Personally i think 959 is a must-have. I could lead to the ultimate 80s duel with F40, Countach and Yellow Bird.

On the bigger tracks it might be a close race with other 80’s super cars. On the more tight and twisty tracks the 4wd + 80’s rubber would be a significant advantage to the 959.

The 718 Cayman/Boxster was highlighted in the teaser trailer, and is one of Porsches most important models right now. So i’m confident that one of these cars is indeed the 718 Boxster or Cayman. I think that the Cayman GT4 road version is unlikely, at least in this pack. The car was always presented in yellow color, which isn’t present here.

I think this pack is pretty cool. Compared to Forza 6’s Porsche Expansion, its obvious that Kunos has choosen more cars from Porsches current line up, which is a great thing. I would love to drive every one of the models Porsche is selling right now. And while Forza is obsessed by only delivering the high-end model of every line, Kunos isn’t affraid to bring the “normal” cars like the Carrera S, too. Of course, the reason is obvious. Kunos might have choosen some of these models, but Porsche did too (for their simulators powered by AC).

What’s missing here is a modern-day GT3 or GTE 911 like the 991 RSR or the new GT3 Cup. Until they arrive, i will have fun with the Cayman GT4.

Definitely. I was hoping that we’d get both 918’s, counted as only one car, of course. I don’t believe there is anything different between the two cars interior or body, save for the rear wing added to the Weissach Package. So, it would just be different wheels, the crazy green calipers, the rear wing and a livery — oh, 99 pounds lighter overall too.

I liken this to the two Lamborghini Countach’s we have. I’m sure most people would ask “Why would you want the “lesser” 918?”, but it’s not about one being better than the other, necessarily with me.

    1. 935/78 Coupe “Moby Dick” ’78
    2. Cayman GT4 Clubsport ’15
    3. 718 Cayman S ’16
    4. 918 Spyder ’14
    5. 911 Carrera S (991) ’16
    6. 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 (930) ’74
    7. 917/30 ’73

  4. paskowitz

    Porsche 935/78, Cayman GT4 Cup, 718 Cayman S, 918 Weissach, 991.2 Turbo, 911 964 GT2 (maybe the Turbo), 917/30 Can-Am Spyder

  5. Yui-san

The red one is the 911 Carrera S (991.2), while the grey one is the 718 Cayman S (note that it doesn’t have a large spoiler like the GT4).

  6. SagarisGTB

Looks like a 2016 911 Carrera S in Guards Red and a 718 Cayman S in Agate Grey. The Cayman GT4 has a different nose, so I don’t think it’s that.

  7. JASON_ROCKS1998

To me it looks like the red car could be a 991 Carrera S while the gray car could be a 991 Turbo S.
