Fanatec Adds Porsche Vision GT Wheel to Ready to Race Bundles

Hot on the heels of announcing a full cockpit bundle, Fanatec has revealed two “Ready2Race” offerings based around the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo replica wheel with PC or PC/PlayStation compatibility.

Comprising the Porsche VGT rim and CSL Pedals paired to either a CSL DD wheelbase or a Gran Turismo DD Pro wheelbase, the bundles are both available in the Fanatec webstore now:

Whichever option you end up getting, the Porsche wheel — officially called the CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision GT — is an impressive piece of kit. After reviewing it, we didn’t want to take it back off the rig.

The only steering wheel to date to have been designed to simulate one found in a fictional Vision Gran Turismo car, it’s a unique piece of racing sim equipment. It’s based around a meaty aluminum frame and is wrapped in a new synthetic, suede-like microfiber material called Tactaris.

For those who don’t need PlayStation compatibility, the CSL DD variant is of course the cheaper option but doesn’t come bundled with the Boost Kit 180 that unlocks the full 8Nm torque peak like the GT DD. Otherwise the two are identical, even including the preinstalled QR2 Lite Wheel-Side and Base-Side — and in all cases there’s around $/€100 saving compared to buying the pieces separately.

Naturally they both also form a good starting point, with the basic two-pedal CSL Pedals ripe for upgrades by way of a clutch pedal, load-cell brake, or both. Those who need Xbox compatibility could also add an inexpensive Xbox rim — the Porsche wheel makes as good a display item — and pairing that with the GT DD version of the bundle would give you cross-platform versatility.
