The date is different everywhere you look, the only fact is that PD want it out before christmas but will not release it till it's finished.

Shouldn't that be: Sony wants it out before christmas, but PD will only give them the final code when Kazunori Yamauchi is satisfied with it?

Sony is after the money, PD wants to bring us a masterpiece. I don't think they would want to make the same mistake as they did with GT2.

Yea, good point, but GT2 was much better than GT1. What mistakes are you talking about? On the side of being a little to easy, it was much better than GT1.

It made more money for Sony, and a lot more units were sold, compared to GT1. Plus, the success of both games sold a lot of PS2's too. I think GT2 did the better job of that.

A "masterpiece," huh? Meh. If the game is good enough for Sony, it should be good enough for me. Sony shouldn't delay the release of GT4, just to satisfy Yamauchi-san's ego.

I hope Sony can get Kazunori Yamauchi to release GT4 in time for the Christmas Season. It wouldn't feel much like Christmas without it. OK, maybe that was a bit much.:D

OK I'm guessing you must have gotten the corrected version (GT2.3?) because the first two batches of disc rushed out for Christmas sell-off were riddled with bugs.

Heres a quick list from my slowly fading memory:

1) Machine Test bug that caused your entire garage to vanish (all cars/all credits gone!)

2) The Rally race where the AI car drove right into the wall and got stuck there.

3) AI cars constantly spinning off the track for no reason.

4) Trial Mountian Enduro where the Vector W8 would enter and lap the entire field. That car had too much HP be even allowed into the race to being with.

There were lots of other minor issues, but those above were very BIG and clear a result of a rushed game. Trust me you want PD to take thier time and make GT4 the best it can be.

Wow! I never heard of those before. Yea, I can see why that would be a pisser.

I heard about GT a little on the late side. When I finally got a copy of it, GT2 was about to come out. I played my full of GT, and waited for GT2 to go on sale.

I got GT3 on launch day, and it has some bugs, but they are so minor, I didn't really mind them.

If GT4 has just a few bugs like GT3, and it meant I could get it a little sooner, then that would be OK with me.

I'd rather they take their time and get it right. I'm still happy with GT3 and will be for a while so there's no rush as far as I'm concerned.

For once I played GT3 last night, god I hate the 10 lap pro-races, was doing the GT-R cup - Grand Valley Reverse, when I came up to lap the last car which it turned out span out on the slightest of corners every time, was very amusing but absolutely stupid AI. (Or extremely badly setup car) Was a black 32, maybe the cheaper model I'm not sure.

GT3 is far from perfect as was GT2. Tbh I don't remember much being wrong with the original GT :)

I bought GT2 the day it came out. The one flaw with my copy was that, although it had drag cars, there was no drag strip and I couldn't get 100% because they took it out.

I got GT1 after GT3 came out. Then I got GT2 just a couple months later. I got GT3 just this past Christmas, and a PS2. I've heard people say that GT2 is better than GT3. I think GT3 is by far the best of them all. Six hundred cars is nice but probably overkill. I probably drove all of 120 of them in GT2. But more tracks is going to be great. That's the one place GT3 is lacking, to me. I miss Autumn Ring and Red Rock Valley, both of which would be so great with an F1. And I'm looking forward to some brand new ones, too.

OOOOOhhhhh I forgot about that one... it was a HUGE bug at the time :O I overlooked it because a) it was a long time ago ;) and b) I could less about going in a straight line in a "driving" game :P

GT2 is most flawed copy of GT due to it being rush for Xmas the year it came out.

GT1 had the best pure racing and computer AI because it listed the HP & LBS of the cars racing along with you AND they did not have "rubber band" catch up effect of GT2 or the stupid oil change & general dumbness of GT3. I never saw an AI car spin out in GT1 on it's own, however they would still crash into you

On the list of things that must be fixed in GT4 the AI of the computer cars is #1 in my book, its the only thing that's been "wrong" with the game since day 1 and has been worst with each new version :(

I was wondering why there was a 1088 HP HKS Skyline in GT2, if that's what it is. I can't really remember, it was such a long time ago when I last played GT2. I never saw the drag racing optios at all in the game version I bought. Interesting.
