They currently have this lovely VW 5 pack in Smyths as well that I periodically put at the back of a peg because I inevitably strike some gold on 4-5 individuals that I want.

Did you know there are 2 variations of the Blue Volksrod at the top? There's the one I have with roof rack and twin cannon exhausts but in the same 5 pack it's possible to have one with a sunroof, no roof rack and a single stinger style exhaust instead.

Yeah that's how I got the last one. Still cost me $6 with shipping but at least I don't get a bunch of cars I don't want/need.

Horrible with those wheels/tires. Unbearable, even. But then again very very Mattel too.

It's as though they went out of their way to make it look odd. Only one I'd been interested in that whole series was the Rover. I can't find it under $5(TRU), and it's not worth that to me. Come to think of it, I guess I did buy the foxbody Mustang police car($3).

This one? A few color variations of it (including a zamac) on eBay but all of them are stolen goods. Didn't see any of the Cougar's up yet.

Edit: @R1600Turbo - So that red R34, as far as you know, that is a rare multi-pack exclusive? I ask, because I don't think it was in the designated marked upper corner of the 9-pack like that Cougar. I should have bought it.

No It's not an exclusive, from what I can tell based on eBay listings it's just a normal release for this year. We should see it in red first, then yellow, and possibly a zamac along the way.

As far as the Cougar goes, I have already seen it in stores (I took the photo I posted) but was just saying I haven't seen one on eBay yet.

I think it's there to sucker in impulsive-purchasing collectors to rake extra dough before they realize they could have bought it as a basic.

I like to think of them as previews for upcoming cars. These wonderful boxes are how I learned of soon-to-be black SRT Viper GTS.

Forgot to mention in one of the 9-packs that had the Cougar exclusive was the white Escort RS1600 that's hitting pegs shortly. So yeah, seen it many times.
