The secondary market value of those three is not even anywhere near half the Datsun.

It almost is over here. I didn't rip off the guy, but of course I found all of them hangin' so I didn't put lots of money in it either.

Picked these up at Walgreens.

No new shipper in yet.

Great catch, @Cano 👍 Have to ask though, what's going on with the roof (paint work)? not that it matters. I have zero hope of finding one over here. :grumpy:

@photonrider There's no disguising that Jada Firebird, i can see those big wheels with my x-ray vision. :D

In all fairness, i do actually like the Jada stuff, but the *size of the wheels* always stops me from ever purchasing them, on the very rare occasions i come across them in the UK. *The scale is also slightly too big for my tastes*, (passed on a Siku Alfa 4c for the same reason). I did actually talk myself out of getting a rather nice looking Jada Karmann Ghia a few weeks back, which i kind of regret now, as i haven't seen it since and due to rarity (over here), it's unlikely i'll come across it again.

*Just me being overly fussy* 👍

Dawg you totally ripped him off , but he was content with it.

New Cars.

Didn't think too much of it when I first saw the re-colour of the Viper GTS-R in black but it looks great. Nice haul Ken. 👍

Maybe it's just the photos, but the chinjob doesn't seem to be as bad as the C7R. Thanks for taking the pics!

829Japan's review on the first wave of Tomica Premiums

Late stuff, but there's enough pics to supply you with evidence.

Other old news:

I can see myself filing an exception on the 350Z. I'd say the same for the Grand Nat, but I can resist a Grand Nat easily.

I tried getting a pic of that. It's there, but it's easily overlooked on this example for some reason. I'm not complaining.

I am yet to even see any Fast and the Furious vehicle at my local Wal Mart. Apparently they are not shipping them.

I'm quite looking forward to them when they do ship here. Not exactly sure why.

What makes you say that? The opening doors bit, that is.

Tomica creates door gaps that are hella big for a 1/64 scale. Remember these are scale models, so if you were to scale up the size of that gap to 1:1, you'd probably get a separation line of 2 inches. Have you ever seen a door line with a gap that size?

edit: Whoa! Has the Tomica Tommykaira ZZ made news here before?

New for 2015 it seems

All it needs is headlamp detailing and a wheelswap.

Oh, I see. So the scaled door gap size is too big for what it's supposed to be... And yes, a door with a 2-inch separation line would be pretty ridiculous. I guess that devalues the Z-Tune a bit, in your eyes (or more precisely in R1600's eyes).

I lose memory of the activity here pretty quick nowadays. Might be my lack of sleep. Thanks for pointing that out.

Lamborghini Reventon

One of the slickest greys I've seen by Hot Wheels. If I took a pic of the back, you'd see what I mean.

Edit: It feels like I've already shared the pic before, so in case that is the truth, here's this:

Don't. Show. The Citroen. :irked:

Maybe R1600Turbo show answer the 'door gap' question himself? He might have had reservations completely different to what AOS assumed he had.

In the early days of Hot Wheels the door gaps were left out - in fact the first 16 models - (usually referred to as the Sweet 16, based on customised models of real cars of that era and cars designed to run on tracks and featured bearings, working suspension, Spectraflame paint and redline wheels) were made without door cuts to simulate the real look - after all, at that scale one wouldn't really see the gaps. Plus it was hell on the moulds.

Public opinion and toy-testing on kids elicited that the door cuts were needed. They were then introduced into production.

Not really easy to get a MIB set of the Sweet 16 today without parting with at least 5 Gs.

While i like the paint job on the Reventon, it sure is one ugly Lambo. :yuck:

The yellow Huracan i picked up yesterday however.

(no pics)

2CV. 👍

Panel gaps for opening doors (on 1/64 in general). 👎

Someone has dreams of getting one... Either that or you hate 2CVs, one of the two.

What means 'hate'? :D

Life is too short to hate - I love the 2CV. Iconic car. And what a sleeper. I loved it from the moment I first saw it in a Tintin comic - or what would be termed today a 'Graphic Novel'. Those books were huge. I could hide behind them.
Thomson and Thompson used to drive one. The car. Not the book.

Also the 2CV - "For Your Eyes Only." :D Guess that's a 'secret' joke with me..
