I would tell you to stop buying these, but I think I'm the last person that should be sayin' that.

I'm making it my mission to cease collecting anything 2013 or later. You guys can rub it in my face if I forget and end up posting purchases on 2013 cars. Cool?

Maybe in like 3 months for me :(

Someone want to grab me one too? Either the good stuff here disappears due to other collectors or scalpers, or we just never get any.

You figured that with a shipment with over 16 Chevelle SS 396s, you'd think there would be at least one Chevelle TH in there.

Idea: Just buy 20 of the Yellow Corvette's in the M case, open them all, send in the required stuff, then cut them all up and create a realllllly long Corvette limousine. :dopey:

Screw waiting for Wyvern, if I do the pages will be so clogged with pictures that everyone's computers will die. I'll make several posts with the stuff that's accumulated in the last few months. I'll start with these few Lesney Matchbox from E-Bay; many aren't in the best shape, but for the price I just couldn't say no.

IMG_7252.jpg

One by one, the cars in just that one picture; a lot more came in, but if I post them all at the same time everyone will die, too:

First the Ford GT40 with all of it's 4 original tires, these are very hard to find with the tires intact:
IMG_7205.jpg

And, surprise, one of the few that actually came in with their box! In fact it's not it's original box, as the one that came with it depicts the Superfast version, but there was a time when the superfast and the yellow wheel version shared boxes, so screw it.
IMG_7204.jpg

This Opel Diplomat is actually almost mint, it was just pretty dirty, but nothing that couldn't be handled with some soap water.
IMG_7216.jpg

omnomnomnom
IMG_7218.jpg

Then this big Lincoln Continental, it's pretty tattered but it's here, an upgrade will someday come.
IMG_7219.jpg

'sides, it's complete with it's trunk.
IMG_7221.jpg

The Ford Corsair is also in very good shape; the car is missing a small boat that it carries in its top, that snaps in the window sills, but it's very difficutl to find with this accesory.
IMG_7248.jpg

We also have the Lomas Ambulance in good shape; the Red Cross tampos are almost gone, but no one's complaining, the thing is almost 50 years old.
IMG_7230.jpg

Both cop cars, the oldest of the two is the Mercury with front steerable Chrome wheels, and in pretty damn bad shape, but it's very rare.
IMG_7240.jpg

Much more common is the Ford Galaxie, which was also released in fire chief livery (even more common, that one), which I also have:
IMG_7233.jpg

And lastly, I sadly present you this incomplete VW Transporter, one of the earliest models. It's missing both doors, but this car is very rare and very expensive when it's complete. Someday it'll come.
IMG_7238.jpg

And I'll also throw in these Maisto Datsun 510s. I'm missing the BRE-style car, but it seems that one was never stocked, I never saw it, and the series has simply disappeared from the store that carried it, which is a shame. I'll have to cough for it on E-Bay.
IMG_7417.jpg

More, MUCH more, later on.

Very interesting purchases Cano. Quite like the Opel, GT40, VW, and Corsair! :) And those 510s are shiny! What series were those a part of? :dunce:

Bit of a personal collecting update. A cousin in Vietnam told me that she'd like to get me something as a souvenir. So I kindly asked if there was any kind of model car there... Don't know what it'll be, but hoping it's something we don't have here. :D Still no sign of the giveaway prize box from RaceGrooves, I'm guessing it'll be in the coming week or so. And finally the last part of the update, I think my collection might be coming to an end for the summer... With a 40 hours a week job and little time over the weekend, I might be unable to sneak hot wheels/matchbox in... The school my mom works at just started their vacation today so that means morning hours I have before work are gone with her home. And my father's coming back from Vietnam next Monday and since I've been using his car most of the time, I have no transport to go around town. Also, since my father and I are probably working similar hours (he got me my new job at one of the places he works at), I'll probably have to get a ride from him. No more stops at Walmart going to and from work. :( Going to stuff in some time at the flea market this weekend hopefully.

I bought from majorettica on eBay and he shipped my lot on June 16th. Not sure where in Canada its coming from, but shouldn't be more than a week longer. Patience Cano and you shall be rewarded.

Don't play with fire, Frosty. :scared:

Frog: I like that picture.👍

Cano: Your cars just totally outclass just about all the cars in this thread, but your photography! I say it's the very best in this thread.👍

Guess which day I consider better

$10 w/ free shipping for all these Mercedes!

IMG_0522.jpg

The best of the bunch!

---------------------------------------------------

Here's a little eBay story for you.
$50 of my hard earned ( I'm a great son ;) ) went into the cars between the -------dashes-------

1. I won the (4) cobras.
2. I won the Box of 20 carded.
3. I check the sellers unsold listing.
4. I notice a lot of loose cars and contact seller.
5. I offered him an additional $5 to my current order and he agreed!
6. Score :)

IMG_0529.jpg

IMG_0530.jpg

The oldest in the group. Two are from 1979!

IMG_0525.jpg

Here you can see the real riders and Tomica that were a separate lot. The four of them were less than $6.
The title of the listing was "old formula cars." If he would have used the term Real Rider...could have doubled his money easily.

---------------------------------------------------------

And finally

IMG_0532.jpg

IMG_0533.jpg

These packs came from Canada. I'm thrilled to FINALLY have a Holden Commodore...and I've got 2! I've never seen cars packaged like this. The cars are on individual cards but then there's a plastic casing around the entire lot of them. The back of them just has a UPC code. Could be a homemade group, but why would someone do that?? You would need a vacuum sealer and a lot of patience. $27 and change for the lot and that included the $9 parcel shipping.

Nice, nice, nice, but my favorite gotta be that orang-ish Lotus Esprit.

You did good. Great job, son. :p:tup:
