1/64 Model Collectors Thread

Just saw that my Target has their Boulevards on clearance for around $2.50. There was nothing good, but it might be worth looking at other stores.

I saw those clearance tags today too, but all they had was the Hot Tub and Civic I see at every Target.

I've never even seen the Civic in person, haha. All my local Targets have are endless Chrysler Prontos and Twin Mills, plus one trashed Delorean that's been there forever.

Mine has both hot tub things, Civics, still had one F40, and handful of other forgettable cars. They also had two Vectors, and I was gonna nab it the next time I was there, but they are gone. Oh, well. I just wanted a second one to open up.

Oh joy, I finally bought it!

Only 3 of the 9 trays completed. The rest will be done tomorrow, took 2 days to get here surprisingly. Each tray takes 33 cars, 3 slots are larger fitting taller vehicles. Will have room for 297 cars which is unexpectedly low, but I'm okay with it since moving the tote with 500 cars inside was not a pleasant lift.

I haven't received any offers, I still got that F40. It's in the bottom left pic. I want to say that I paid $3.47, but I can't say for certain. After this Garage 30 set, I'm gonna have to update the list again!

It's actually part of the Wangan Midnight boxset. I was really happy when the store had that black Porsche and I immediately bought it, no second thoughts.


The Wangan Blackbird is the sole reason why I collect Porsches.

Yes, it's made by Tomica and it is one of the cars found in the Wangan Midnight boxset.

What's amazing is that, you rarely see Hot Wheels go for these faithful, realistic look. It's as though somebody like Tomica Limited came up with the cast. I just love it. 👍

As for Garage versus Boulevard, I'm not really sure what the differences are? I just liked the vehicle choices & paint schemes of the Garage series better.

The higher quality of the garage cars compared to the Blvds. And that the Garage series uses RL cars (mostly classic cars) while the Blvd series uses RL cars and made up cars as well, think like the Blvd series is a premium upgrade to the mainline HWs and without them being $THs.

But the Blvd series has two plus that I like. It brings out new cars that will not or soon to be included in the mainline series (i.e. Renault Turbo 5, Datsun BB 510 Wagon.) And they have RR tires.

Out of the three Muscle Machines or whatever JGTC cars, one of them I sold on eBay, one's on hold for Cano, but Amemiya RX-7 is the one I decided to hang on to. I saw pics on Bing with doors that open and everything, it's badass. 👍

They're all really nice. I have the whole set of six, but I left the rest of them at my parents' house when I moved out and they ended up boxed up somewhere when my parents turned my old room into an office years back. Hopefully I can find them eventually. I actually bought my set at the JGTC exhibition round they did back in 2004 at CA Speedway.

The WedsSport Celica and the NSX are among the nicer ones from the set. There's a second series that as far as I know was only released in Japan (boxed as Tamiya instead of Muscle Machines), maybe I can track it down someday as it has a bunch of other favorites like the Calsonic and Xanavi GT-Rs and the Au Cerumo Supra.
