there are 3 different HPA upgrades...stage I, stage II, and the new stage III putting out 600 hp. stage I puts out some 430, stage II does 550, and stage III does 600...my friend is getting the stage II for his R32 installed by HPA...imagine the 4 wheel burnouts you can do...dropping the clutch at 6000 rpm....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yum!

Cool, well I stand corrected... Stg2 does have 550hp.

Hope the clutch would hold up to that! It would be sweet to see, though. You should, however, mention to your friend that with the price of the HPA R32 Stg 2 is, by your 2nd link, $68,500... thats just ~$6g's short of a new V10 M5... just something to consider.

good observation on the price....see the only problem is this kids got money out the arse so its no problem for him...father's a doc, mom died while racing, he races, his father races, and his bro crashes the family cars...they know what they're doing and it almost scares me to think of what this kid could do with an M5... :scared:

You know, Homer, I don't have a real problem with the Chrysler Crossfire. Think of it like this. It's a car with an identity crisis. At the front, it looks like a luxury car through and through. But at the rear, it looks like a race car. The rear spoiler is deployed at a certain speed. So is it a luxury car or a race car? I'm actually a fan of DaimlerChrysler, so I'm not really opposed to it. But I will say this. At least it looks better than the Cadillac CTS-V.

You know, I didn't realize there was another page of replies after I seen Homer_SS's post! When I came here to this page, I read this Crossfire drifter is to replace the Viper drifted by Mr. Hubinette. That drifting Viper was WILD! Why replace? Heck, I even slid out a DeTomaso Pantera GTS in "Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3!" Before I go drift crazy, next reply.

By the way, welcome to GTPlanet, Izanagi. Sorry I never told you any earlier.

well thank you very much John...you are the first to formally welcome me...since i became a member. props on supporting the Crossfire...personally i'm neutral on the car because 1) i haven't been looking around at specs or anything of that sort, 2) you have an open mind on cars (as can be seen in many of your previous posts), and 3) i'm happy that American/German manufacturers are looking into drifting...i like a little spice on the track

The clutch is replaced with a Sachs racing clutch, so it should be up to the job.

You're right, but the new M5 is a way bigger car. I really both like'em very much, but I'm into smaller cars, so I'd still take the HPA. Nice that you guys like the VW though, most of the boardies seem to find it plain boring.

Cheers,
the Interceptor

P.S.: @ Izanagi: Welcome to the board! ;)

to Uh_Oh, Devs avatar is of a tvr speed 12

thank you for the welcome, Interceptor. yeah i love the R32...the exhaust note makes it sound like a toned down Lambo... I like G-specs as well as J's and a few A-specs....there's nothing wrong with rolling around in a fine piece of German engineering...hey hast du einen account mit AIM oder MSN instant messenger?

that thing could scare the crap out of me if i saw it pull up behind me on the road :scared: i know for a fact that i'd get out of the way...and yes it does look way nice than the one in the game...is that a dinner table on the back?

You try keeping a 800hp car on the road without a wing or spoilers, then we'll talk ;)

lol clearly...but a DINNER TABLE???? oh well hopefully technology has advanced a little since the pic was taken...tho i do like the large wing it looks imposing.

8400RPM
Ferrari Enzo can keep ~650hp down without spoilers.

it has a mini wing in the back...fyi lol i've sat in one and kissed the nose emblem at a rich people auto show in Cincinnati this summer...god it was amazing!

You know what's funny? My parents recentely came back from Las Vegas this past weekend, but SEMA was the big attraction last weekend or so. Of course, they wouldn't be invited unless they were automotive insiderers or bigtime racers or bigtime auto fans. So you get a chance to get into SEMA, enjoy the sights. And as I said, all the cars are rather unique and otherwise pretty cool. So we know we get to ride in that Buick GNX Special (my God... what a sweet classic ride!), and maybe even that Oldsmobile Toronado. And as I said in the past:

(not exact quote) "The only way I'm going to race ANYTHING from Oldsmobile, it would have to be that Alero race car from the 1980s or 1990s, or maybe an Oldsmobile-powered Indy car." -0?/??/2004

So as I said, it would be interesting to see what Team GT can take from this year's SEMA show.

hehehe Buick....just hearing the name makes me giggle... but i do respect Aleros....my g/f from a while back used to drive one and the thing was nice, comfy, and had some serious pickup too...great car to screw around in the back 👍 :sly:

The Oldsmobile Alero only started production in 1999...

Oldsmobile used to use Auroras in Trans Am, or maybe you were thinking of the Aerotech concept cars.

Yeah, 359. I confuse them sometimes. Thanks for setting me straight, The359.

:) That photo of the Speed 12 is a really old one. That looks like only a mock up of one. I think it was at the 2000 Birmingham motorshow when there was a version which you could sit in. Since then it developed into the Cerbera Speed 12 which was at the 2002 motorshow, and this looks completely different apart from the colour!! I thought it kicked out 880bhp in road trim as well, limited to 660 for racing!! Crazy car, shame they never really got selling them properly.

That's because the enzo has a full active underbody.

I'm sure Dev Zero knows this but they weren't put into production because they were too crazy. There is a top gear about it.

lets compare, there seems to be 3 versions, the second being similar to the last but with side scoop, heres a better picture of the first, found this in a calendar i had
