I'm with Mike here. Every year my interest and excitement in the Premiership wanes. I still like Fulham and United to do well, but the dynamics of the football on offer is changing for the worse. Diving, injury simulation, costs and so on.

You say that about BTCC, Top Gear and F1. :lol: The problems aren't exclusive to the Premier League and happen regularly in international and domestic football competitions around the globe.
 
Clattenberg WONT officiate a match this weekend..good decision taken there as it takes him out of the firing line whilst all this is going on..its a no brainer!

..also, i was very surprised to see Hernandez celebrate in front of the home fans like that!, he is normally a down-to-earth, likable guy and he was stupid to do that which provoked that kind of reaction which most likely caused the steward to be injured!..

Well, diving and simulation are things which are actively encouraged in leagues like Spain, which means that players brought up in that footballing culture, and signed from those leagues are too used to falling over instead of staying on their feet. Culture is important; Spanish domestic football doesn't see as many crosses as us either, which might explain why de Gea is a good shot stopper but flaps at crosses.

I don't want to derail too much, but if the EPL finds racist remarks by players such an issue than why don't they just do a monetary penalty system for each time they get caught saying it and have it increase each time?

Losing money is something most athletes don't like from their gameday pay.

With the fines they get at the moment I don't think it matters though. They get like 10,000 fines. Yet get paid 100,000 a week, take of their taxes maybe they get 60,000 a week. That's still only about 15% of their wages. One week. They have another 51 of them a year.
 
Well, at least we have some sort of revenge for Sunday's match. It was an absolutely fantastic match, would have been a real shame if we lost it, because we played better than United straight from kickoff, and lost out due to mistakes initially.

Not going to lie, was a great match. Even though we lost. What was Wootten thinking?? That game should have finished 3-2.

Just looked into my Crystal ball. Arsenal 27-26 Man Utd. This weekends score. Oopsy, spoiler alert. :lol: :sly:

So its been an extraordinary week, both on and off the pitch! But there are some great looking games on this weekend..top of the bill is Man United-Arsenal, then Liverpool-Newcastle..also a big game at the bottom between QPR and Reading!...

The fact that my team was denied a 94th minute winner by an offside when he was more than a yard onside is something that annoyed me a lot. To then watch Chelsea-United and see not only a forward get a 2nd yellow for being tackled but then to see United clinch the game with a goal 1 yard OFFside is something else. The official's decision making in this league is more than inept. Interesting to note that it was Clatternburg's first time reffing a United game since they lost 1-6 to City last year. He seemed keen to get back in SAF's good books. Am I implying that ref's consciously try to avoid SAF's wrath and buckle under pressure and in turn make decisions that benefit United? You bet I am. Come at me.

Yup, too bad Ferguson couldn't use his royal powers over the FA to decree the replacement of Martin Atkinson whenever he refereed at Stamford Bridge against Man Utd.

The King ... oops that title belongs to Kenny ... too bad the Emperor couldn't make the Privy Council replace Mike Dean for THAT game at Old Trafford.

BTW, I always wondered why Roberto Martinez did not get the Liverpool job. He parrots Benitez's stance about all the ills of football flowing from Old Trafford and HRH Ferguson. Kenny would be proud of him.

But Rodgers is doing pretty good learning the ropes at Anfield by blaming the referees and the media for ignoring the fortune Man Utd enjoy. I think Martinez should sign on as his number two. They'd make the ultimate tag team.

That's twice that Arsenal have got a goal after the shown added minutes now. Nevertheless, a good game for us. Lets hope Swansea can do us a favour against Chelsea now.

Glad Utd won. Shame we conceded last second (after the allocated minutes :sly:) and D'Gea lost his clean sheet for the match.
