Meanwhile in Venezuela unbiased press will be presenting their national hero and again show how the entire world plots against them and tries to put them down...

Hmm... Do you know this to be a fact?

What a bummer of race!! First Vettel grinds to a halt then Grosjean does with the same issue 5 laps later!! I wanted to see one of those guys win. I am no Alonso fan..

Raikkonen ought to figure out those steering issues before he gets a call from Trulli...

He was underwhelming despite getting 2nd and scintillating start. He shoud atleast be able to keep up with Grosjean!

To be fair, it appeared that the curb hindered his steering when he re-entered the track, but he should have taken the run off in the first place rather than coming back on like he did.
He shouldn't be accelerating harder than Hamilton to go back on track knowing a car is in front of him and if he continues to accelerate he will go into him. He was probably hoping for a brush without any damage to him but broke his front wing in the end which cost him a lot of points.

Me neither, but you can't deny the guy's talent. He wrestled that dog of a car to the sharp end of the places at the start of the season and, presumably with his input, developed it to the point of being an actual race winner - rather than just because of Alonso's ability. He's scored in every race this season and been the first repeat winner for a reason...

He deserves it, it has to be said.

Yes. Also, his rear wheel would have left the ground momentarily, which explains the moment from the audio where Maldonado to said to 'floor it'.

Like I mentioned before, Maldonado deserved a penalty, but it doesn't bring Hamilton's points back. As Famine points out, we shouldn't be surprised because it's Maldonado. Lewis of all people should know this before he puts Maldonado in such a position.

I can't help but think Hamilton is driving as Ayrton Senna would i.e. 'Putting other drivers in a situation where they choose to yield or crash'. If you put Maldonado in such a position, you're gonna have a bad time.

You, and other agrressive, butt hurt English/British Hamilton supportes fail to see the big picture. Psychology. You realize Maldo feared of "cutting" the track? Yes, after that he could leave Ham through, but he misjudged a situation and at that time he was already riding on the curb, with no real control of the car.

Seems pretty in control to me. It wasn't as if he was on super old tires, airborne, or correcting a slide.

Maldonado had EIGHTY FEET of run off to go to and that's exactly where he should have gone

See my post above yours. But yes, no doubt he is dangerous.

Seems pretty in control to me. It wasn't as if he was on super old tires, airborne, or correcting a slide.

In that case, more guilt should be moved towards him.

I say that is not true. Becaue I am no Vettel fanboy, sorry to disappoint you.

Shocked at the very least.

There isn't a facepalm worthy of this. You sir, are pathetic.

What about when the car is actually on the kerb and his wheel is pointing left?

It was because he dabbed the brake and his wheel locked causing him to go straight into hamilton despite turning.

Official F1 info:

"Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi and Toro Rosso’s Jean-Eric Vergne have both been handed grid penalties for the forthcoming British round after causing collisions in Valencia on Sunday.

Kobayashi will be demoted five places on the grid, following his collision with the Ferrari of Felipe Massa. Vergne, meanwhile, received a 10-place grid drop and a €25,000 fine after colliding with Heikki Kovalainen's Caterham on Lap 27."

What has possessed car number 3 and Jenson button?
What has possessed the Mclaren pitcrew?
Did Lotus and Red Bull have the identical alternator issue?
If so is it a renault supplier issue?

Indeed, he only lost control when the floor was on the kerb, losing both drive and steering when his tyres weren't in contact with the ground. I'm not entirely sure he dabbed the brakes, but if he did it only goes to show that he didn't intend to plow the car into Hamilton as some users have suggested. Both of the images from the post I quoted were before Maldonado lost full control of the car.

Too much hate in here.

Yes, because once again you're only interested in discussing the people making the points and not the points they're making.

Try discussing things without pretending (and stating that) everyone else has bias or is a fanboy of something because of their nationality. If you can't, don't discuss things. You should know better.

Yeah, in this case I think it's true.

Ok. I find it funny though that I never see you interfering when someone assumes I would think different of the situation when Vettel is involved. But good, I will follow your advice.

Also, I made absolutely legit points. Try not to downplay that, that is unfair.

I didn't manage to catch the last half of this race but having seen the footage I'm wondering what everyone is making a big deal about. Silly from both drivers but neither was going to give an inch, because thats the kind of driver they are.

Maldonaldo has received the correct penalty and life moves on. Not sure why everyone is up in arms about this one - it doesn't appear to be intentional, just very optimistic and very stupid trying to fight a position when you are off the track.

No different to a lot of Hamilton's contact last year. Just dumb moves. As always it seems though, particular drivers seem to get certain people's tempers up. Thankfully F1 is nothing like GP2...
