" Section 12-4.9: Behavioral penalty -- involved in a post-race incident
"These penalties are about maintaining a safe environment following the race," said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR senior vice president, competition and racing development. "We knew that the new Chase format was likely going to raise the intensity level and we want our drivers to continue to be themselves. However, the safety of our drivers, crew members, officials, and workers is paramount and we will react when that safety could be compromised."

I'd say causing a massive brawl compromises the safety of everyone in the vicinity of it, whether they've jumped in to try to break it up or are merely bystanders. Agree that the cars shouldn't be used as weapons though.. no matter how fast they're going at the time.

Brad seems to be the center of a lot of these conflicts over the last few years.

I'm surprised Brad was not able to spin Hamlin considering his experience level in that field. I knew Brad was a punk when he came into NASCAR and he continues to reinforce my opinion of him. If it's not him blabbering about everyone else's teams it's the whining on the track. Huge ego. I know that everyone out there has massive egos, but Brad's seems to be developing more as the years pass.

Brad has been an ass over the past few years. Since he won that 2012 championship, he thinks the sport should revolve around him.

To be honest with you, I was fine with BK until last year. Didn't notice much arrogance in his early years but his championship makes him feel entitled to act like a brat, and it's only gotten worse since the 2013 season began.

Most of the big name drivers (Jr., Gordon, JJ, for some examples) usually don't act as if the sport revolves around them (though in some ways, it does revolve around Jr.). Keselowski needs do start showing some more respect or I'll be getting rid of the #2 hat that I own.

It's pretty clear that the fines are about using the car as a weapon.
Then Hamlin also deserves a fine, since he started everything by brake checking, as he even admitted himself.

I get it, everyone hates Brad now. It's only been pointed out for the last several posts in a row. But you're just wrong here.

I get your point, but a brake check on a race course is different then actually going down on pit road and slamming a different car than the one that brake checked Brad and also hitting another that wasn't even involved. There are people are on pit road, not where the 11 brake checked him. For the record, I've hated Keselowski since he was a Nationwide only driver. Again, it's real clear that the reason for the fines was using a car as a weapon in a populated area. It's NASCAR's call and I would even go as far to say that if that Ward kid never died, nobody would have received any penalties. NASCAR obviously implemented the fines to save face with a safety issue that has been in the news a lot lately. I have no problem with NASCAR fining anyone involved. Fine them all. I'm not Robin Pemberton, Mike Helton or Brian France. I'm just a random internet dude.

I'm not certain that he isn't still here....

I'm assuming you're talking about me since that Jacob kid likes to call me Iceyou or whatever and not a day goes by where someone accuses me of being some former member I have never heard of then a bunch of people like their message because you are all on the inside. You guys are so hardcore.

You jumped up way too quickly to defend yourself when you weren't named.

You even defended the accusation of being the exact member we were talking about, even though we didn't name him in this thread.

What are the odds of that?

A guilty dog barks the loudest. Just saying...

I've seen the Iceyou thing in other threads too since I joined. Report me to admin and they can run an IP trace. I don't know who Iceyou is but if you feel that way start an investigation about it.

It's only a joke, don't take it too seriously.

In this very thread.

Not even going to dig up the others.
What's funny is that not one person quoted you, or named you, in those posts. Why would those posts bother you unless you were already feeling overly defensive about it?

That's one example. There have been more in other threads. Nobody quotes anyone around here directly so when they get called on it they can back pedal and say it was about someone else.

As if NASCAR cares that a few people think that

You have a very skewed idea of "a few" people. Are you aware that fans have been leaving NASCAR?

Can we get back to NASCAR, without all the drama?

Next person who post a animated gif or an off-topic image gets a holiday.
