I also noticed there were no cars in the support series with KX backing either. Maybe KX are finalising who they are sponsoring or maybe the programme was only on while Plato was at MG.

Good point, I forgot about the KX Academy thing. Just looked at the website and it's not been updated since the start of last season it seems :odd:
If they updated now it would probably give it away

True, I think it was Whorton-Earles who was a KX boy? Perhaps now MG have stepped back from 888 as Malcolm said they're not going to bother supporting any other drivers

Well if we're on the right track then that's a bit :grumpy: They didn't even update it during last season, it's all talking about looking forward to the 2014 season so there's at least a year of inactivity. This is making me a bit worried tbh and has conjured up two questions in my head;

Is the BTCC facing a sponsorship epidemic like F1?

Have big mainstream brands cottoned on to the fact that motorsport sponsorship is pointless, or at least not financially viable?

What annoyed me was the MG's

I mean, yeah AJ has his usual Pirtek Sponsors and Goff, like every other driver has his own. But being factory teams and running different liveries? That just doesn't seem right to me personally. Independent teams you can understand but not for a factory defending team champion

Could say same about WSR.

Really praying to god that someone is uploading the full races to Youtube this season or I won't be able to watch today back :scared:....

ITV have it on their ITV Player 👍
Looks like they've got the whole 8 hour program up! If you don't want to faff about working out where in the program each race started then I expect they'll have a highlights package up later in the week.

After successfully visiting all 9 tracks in 1 day, here's where @GTP_Ingram and I watched all the racing:

Also who is "Richard Roberts" - pseudonym of a Ginetta Supercup racer yesterday who showed up to race...

Unsure. There's some discussion on facebook - he apparently wasn't even on some of the entry lists.

The way that the circuit announcers were not so discreetly referring to it being a pseudonym at every opportunity did make me curious. If anonymity was the intention, the announcers really didn't help.

Thanks mate, glad they're putting the whole show up now (pretty sure they never did it before?) :)

I've found a wordpress by the guy who uploaded the races last year, he's now uploading them as private via Google Videos I think so you can't find them through a Youtube search. I'm a bit apprehensive to post the link publicly but anyone is welcome to pm me and I'll give you the link 👍

Heard it was a guy from the bmw cup that may have came into some money.

Wasn't bothered enough to head down to the paddock at paddock to find out (too busy stalking Andy Priaulx  ). I was kinda surprised to learn James Hunt's son was driving a Clio though.

Won a 9-figure sum on the Euromillions last year, if I remember rightly. There was a small filler article in Autosport at the time.

Re: Priaulx on soft tyres - it was mentioned on the radio at the circuit that with the cold conditions, it wasn't possible to warm the soft tyres up enough and that's why they disintigrated. No-one appeared to have the same problem in race 3.

All white car?

In the Ginetta Supercup? That narrows it down to about half the field.

I was kinda surprised to learn James Hunt's son was driving a Clio though.

Me and my bro were flicking through the programme, saw his picture and said 'looks like an ugly James Hunt' lol. Then we were walking around the paddock and there was huge commotion at at one of the Clio spaces, it was about 10-15 photographers taking pics of him with a few grid girls. I saw the name Hunt on the car and it clicked  I told him to get a haircut later on but he probably ignored me :D

Was it by any chance the BMW Cup driver who won the Euromillions, and said he was aiming for BTCC?

He doesn't say anything of the fact that he was untouchable until his puncture in race 2 at Brands.

Roo
You're in this one, of the Race 1 start, too.

I believe one of the pixels within the red circle are myself and/or Famine:

Also, here's an Infiniti parked beside another Infiniti at Mallory Park:
