Sounds to me like Abbott can still race but RAR no longer have the license and therefore couldn't replace Abbott if for any reason he was to sit out the rest of the season.
I still don't follow it even after this statement

Owing to the circumstances surrounding Abbott's absence, the championship has opted to suspend the second RAR TBL for the rest of the season - with the team being granted a second entry for the remaining races - rather than remove it permanently.

That makes it sound like they have lost their tbl but are being given a "guest" one?

They also suspended it due to them not finding a driver. Luke davenport was due to drive it but couldn't get the funding to hunter qualified the car. Simon belcher was then going to race it on Sunday but the stewards said no.

Edit: found out it means it's suspended till the end of the year so next year instead of 2 automatic entries they have to apply for the 2nd one against others coming in

The way I see it, they have to take action, since it can't be classed as force majeure, however they'd looked pretty terrible if they penalised a team or driver for wanting to be at the birth of their son, so they effectively taken the license back but will allow Abbott to race by their discretion. It's taking action because they had to, without it particularly having consequences, because that would make them douchebags.

Edited my post with the reason :)

A few pics from the day:

Spent race 1 between Scotsman and Butchers. Unfortunately I didn't get any shots of Aiden Moffat, who after his spin, decided to play to the crowd with armfuls of lift-off oversteer on the entry to Scotsman.

Also spent the first Ginetta juniors here, which was hilarious. It seemed like at least one person had an accident here every lap, including the lap exiting the pits to line up on the grid

Took the time to see JC out on track, too:

I might go to Silverstone on Saturday for the WSbR instead. The Rock is unique, but from my point of view, it's lousy for photography so I'm not sure I can kill two full days there.

No camping as well I think?

They've turfed a section of the car park, it's pretty crappy, but it is there.

There's also a rock concert on Saturday night. I'm tempted, but I've also got to take my 11 year old god son, since that's not for both days I probably wouldn't be camping anyway.

That's a brilliant shot. Could expect to see it in Autosport, it's that level.

Thanks man, sadly out of 1800 shots I only got maybe 20 I like, whilst catch fences get in the way :banghead:

Nick Foster replaces Priaulx for Rockingham.

I was hoping for Alexander Sims.

Ah must have missed that somewhere.
