  • Fastest ever Ford RS model now available to order from £28,940 ($35,730 usd on Ford.com) featuring Ford Performance AWD and 350PS 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine
  • Innovative Focus RS also offers Drive Modes – including industry-first Drift Mode – and Launch Control; customer deliveries of high performance hatchback starting in Europe in early 2016

I'm pleasantly surprised that they put a more powerful engine in the Focus RS than the Ecoboost Mustang. Figured at best the RS would get the same engine.

The engines are the same, it's just that the RS has beefed up internals and a different turbocharger in order to gain differentiation between the 2 models.

That's what I mean, I'm pleasantly surprised that the Focus has more power.

Entry level for Mustang Vs the Top Spec for Focus.

Makes sense, what isn't branded as Extreme in one is in the other so giving it a boost is logical.

BMW did the same thing with the last Generation 130i vs the 30i engine used in the 3 and 5er, so they could brand it as a flagship 1 series.

For about £2000 you can get a civic type R.

...more, I assume.

I'd like to see a comparison between the two and I bet the Focus would come out on top.

That'd depend on what the comparison entails, I imagine. I wouldn't be surprised if the Honda wins out at most circuits, as it's undoubtedly far lighter, and probably more track-oriented. The last-gen Focus RS would beat the STI's and Evos of its day around certain tracks, so I wouldn't count the Civic out based on its drivetrain.

Be interesting what this can do around the Nordschliefe. The FK2 Civic holds an astonishing 7:50.

As many are starting to figure out...Nurb numbers mean nothing and that's even more so the case with trick ECU and turbo tunning to benefit better times over such a diverse and long track. Alfa played games with their car supposedly to get the time they did, why other manufactures times should be believed, I'm not sure.

I think the Civic is a legitimate handler though, in reviews I've seen it can beat an M3 around tighter tracks.

It'll be interesting to see how UK sales of the Focus RS compare to those of the EB Mustang since the two are priced nearly identically.

And apparently The Smoking Tire's Matt Farah has put in an order for one. This should mean nice in depth reviews and possibly/probably mods provided by COBB.

This just in: The car will "kick" the clutch when it's close to stalling during the drift mode. Said system is related to start-stop mechanism. Also, the power/torque figures have been revised to 350/350. 23.2 PSI of boost provides the car with 152bhp/l.

Now, put this tech and motor in Boostang. That would make excellent SVO revival model.

The US-Spec Focus RS in all its glory.
