Via Jayski, 2018 rules will allow Cup drivers 7 Xfinity starts and 5 Truck starts, with none allowed in Dash 4 Cash events, the Xfinity regular season finale and the entire playoffs, or the Truck regular season finale and the entire playoffs.
It's getting there.
In other words, the Kyle Busch Rule because Lets be honest: People have a problem with mostly
Kyle Busch doing this because I notice this complaint happens FAR more then it does when Brad, Joey, Denny, Kevin, Kyle (Larson) does). I would like to point 2 issues:
- You know who brings those big sponsors to those lower series (apart from Sons using their dad's money)? Cup Drivers. You know who leans on those big successes to make sure their own teams stay afloat because of those overly demanding sponsors? Cup Drivers. You know who managed to help William Byron, Eric Jones, Tyler Reddick and some others up the later? Cup Drivers. NASCAR has been so crappy at actually encouraging new talent, its taken Keselowski and Busch (and Earnhardt Jr let it be said) to actually try and bring drivers up and only now has NASCAR decided to make these limitations all because "waaaa, darn Cuppies" in a series that only now has drivers actually coming up like they are supposed to (as opposed to that time where Cup teams just picked up whoever got a win with little to no preparation, although JGR's was more of a forced hand due to a situation they didn't anticipate, which has once again happened again this year and has given use Daniel Suarez). Yes I get people want the series regulars to get more attention but apart from literally every driver that is in a Cup team in the series (with a few exceptions), who even has a shot to win anyway ( assuming they aren't another Danica Patrick, who can't do scratch no matter what ride they get). Also (and believe me, I hate this a lot myself as proven by my disdain for Reed), this is sadly a money driven sport and I guarantee the less Cup drivers you have, the least amount of money that series will have (because frankly, Corporate America does not want to spend on a young driver) and more annoyingly, as I've already witnessed with Darrell Wallace Jr, less good seats for upcoming drivers. . Its even more affecting in the truck Series because those very same drivers hopping in most of the time OWN those teams and their appearance more or less finances their teams because guess who sponsors want more so then some unknown kid? Cup drivers. Its worth repeating the finance part because even though he hasn't made anywhere near as many starts, Even Dale Jr (A multiple time most popular driver and son of you know who) has had to that just for Taxslayer or any of his sponsors to have any reason in staying on his Xfinity team.
And that ends this Great Wall of Text (which won't have nearly as much recognition as that wall in China

)
- Its worth bringing up once again that Cup teams tend to be multi-car efforts so guess what? Its time to be Oprah and give everyone a Xfinity race. For example:
JGR:
Kyle Busch - 7 races (18)
Denny Hamlin - 7 races (20)
Daniel Suarez - 22 races (18)
Eric Jones - 22 races (20)
Team Penske:
Brad Keseloski - 7 races (22)
Joey Logano - 7 races (4 in the 22, 3 in the 12)
Ryan Blaney - 22 races ( 11 in the 22, 11 in the 12)
RCR:
Austin Dillon - 20 races (2)
Ty Dillon - 19 races (10 in the 2, 9 in the 33)
and just for fun
CGR:
Kyle Larson - 22 races
Jamie Mcmurray - 7 races
I think you basically can see where I'm going with this. Just looking at the example for JGR, that rule is useless because JGR could effectively cover over half the schedule with Jones and Suarez since neither are affected for another 4 years. Likewise, Penske could easily cover almost the whole season with its three drivers. Even a two car effort like Chip can pull this off since Larson still isn't affected for another year.
