650PP Circuito de Madrid 5 Laps Help

Found this one pretty tricky! I always run the same tyres as the opposition (RH) and did it on my 12th attempt with the McLaren GTR race car with fastest lap just under 1:20. On pole was the Ford GT and overtook him on last lap. Had already tried the Oreca Viper (love that car), Zonda race car, Nissan GTR TC etc but could not get regular lap times under 1:21. Now doubt with RS I could have won easily but where's the challenge in that?

Since the F1 is my favorite car looks wise, I have several and have already taken my cr800k with the F1, but as I said, I find it fun to rerun such events with many cars. So far the 2J, GT40, Camaro SS, R10, Adventador, Epson NSX
and others have been filling up the coffers
Since others have won with the Enzo, I was merely relating my experience, I didn't expect it to do so well in my hands even though I like the car and drive it well- as far as my skill goes

Just buy a Mclaren F1 GTR.
It wins every time so easily pays for itself

Finally beat it this weekend , determined to use the new DLC awarded Jaguar LM '88 racecar. 2 great things happened:
1) I learned the Madrid racetrack, it was neglected for so very long
2) I used Racing Hard tires, and played with Ride height (raised rear a bit, to minimise power oversteer),
toe settings (gave front big toe-out), and gear ratios for the win.(made 1st and second tall, for easier hairpin coasting)

The car was Engine limited down a great deal due to 650pp (Torque line was flat as deflated party balloon) , but it was fun. Almost an expert challenge, it doesn't allow for much driving error.

Pretty big gap between an easy configuration and a hard one. If something like the Zonda LM is out front, I think you'll need to run 1:20's or better (not easy on R/H!) With a slow car in front, you can get by with 1:23's.

This. After trying 4 or 5 different cars, I finally won the race with the GT-R R34 TC (DLC Red car) tuned to exactly 650PP on RH tires. I just happened to get a grid with the 350Z LM Concept (I think) as the top dog.

I tried using the R34 TC for other races that had the McLaren F1 GTR and the Zonda on the pole, and did not win.

Hard grid is hard; easy grid is easy.

As many times I've run this race, I have a hard time getting lap times below 1:19, regardless of what car I use. I'll admit I'm not the awesomest driver, ever, but I bounce off barriers or bobble very often. The cars I've used have been tuned and handy well for me, but even when driving the McLaren F1 GTR or the R35 GT-R TC, I can only manage the first place loser spot when a Zonda or McLaren F1 GTR are on the pole.

Depends I use F1 GTR on RS at 650PP for grinding and I was getting 1.14's consistently with my best lap at mid 1.13 so its possible for low lap times with the right tires and car, it all depends how hard you want to make the race for yourself.

I too can reach times of 1:13-1:15 with my Zonda R and my ZR1-RM.I still can't find a car that will come close to my 2J though.I have gone sub 6 mins(barely!) and fastest lap ever of 1:09.805.That car is truly alien..👍

Haha really want a chaparral they sound awesome, I misread the price tho, I thought it was 1.4M then I realised it was 14M looks like I'll be waiting a while before I lay my hands on one :L

Furai handles awesome in the corners and comes out of and into bends like a missile, which is really good on this track. Makes it a pretty easy win. If you still have problems make sure you don't have a grid with the mclaren racecar or the ford racecar starting in pole. Keep going into and exiting the event until you get the chevrolet racecar in pole, it's a slug in the corners and easy to beat.

Thanks, I tried 5 or 6 times with the Gran Turismo Ford GT. I could only do 2nd or 3rd.

With your Mazda & setup, I got 1st on my 1st try

I detuned my Mazda Furai last night, and got stuck with a grid headed by the McLaren F1 GTR. I could not close the gap to the McLaren.

After that initial bomb, I selected my GT-R R35 TC, fitted it with the stock turbo, detuned it to meet the requirement, and tried the race again. This time, the grid was headed by the Ford GT LM Spec II. In the first race I was able to pass the Ford midway through the last lap for the win. Since I knew I had a winning combo (car + grid), I decided to grind a few more races. In the other races, I was able to pass the Ford during lap 3; with the earliest pass happening in the second straight right before it narrows down. With full aero, RS tires, and stock turbo, I was still unable to break 1:18 on my best laps.

I had a chance to acquire the 2J once, and chose to pass on it. I figured I'd rather spend the money on a bunch of other neato cars instead of just one I probably won't need.


So yeah... I guess my experience can be best summed up with famous quotes from the moives Rain Man(1988) and Forrest Gump(1994):

"I'm an excellent driver. Dad lets me drive slow on the driveway."

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Adjusted the horsepower down of the Panoz Esperante GTR-1, equipped with Race:Soft, piece of cake. The Team Oreca Vipers work exceedingly well too.

Another car that is surprisingly fun to drive on this track and can win this race is the Corvette ZR1 RM '09. It corners very well and can turn laps of 1.18-1.19 which should win.

As others have noted sometimes the F1 runs out ahead of the field and is hard to catch. I almost caught him with the ZR1 and I think I would have if I would have run a little cleaner of a race.

The 'GT4' Ford GT RM #4 does it no problem with Tuned suspension and drivetrain. This race is about being smooth and consistent.
I can have 1st place in the 2nd lap with this car.

Just go in the race and back out until the BOSS car is the ford gt spec, with the mclaren f1 gtr IT'S IMPOSSIBLE LOL!

Struggled with this for a but until I:
a) used one of my 2js
b) quit out until there was no Mclaren or Ford GT on the grid

Won by about 9 seconds...

It's pretty easy with the 2J running constantly 1:14 and 1:15. Got 1st against the McLaren in the middle of lap 3. Same for the Ford Gt.

The 2J is just insane. Been grinding with all different cars. Ford GT, 458 Italia, Zonda are just a few I took 1st with. But 1 try with the 2J got me 2 laps in the very high 1:13's.
Crazy Fast car. I gotta try the Furia now.

Ran the 2J a 2nd time, but with softs. Just wanted to see what it would do. 1:11.619 on the sticks.
And I would bet there are guys killing that out there.

Furia was the 2nd best lap time car I drove. I dont have the F1 GT-R to try.

Lexus Petronas Tom's SC430 '08 stage 2 turbo 609PP on racing softs. Able to catch the Ford GT on the final lap. Not much room for error during this race.

The MB SLS AMG Stealth Model was a killer in this race. I upgraded to 650pp and used racing soft tyres. No tuning just upgrades

I gave the Nomad several runs. Dont recall the Furia times, but I would say Nomad on par with the Furia here. First bye lap one, what kinda laps are you turning?

2J all day for people having problems or wanting easy cash.

it's the same as every event: pick a troll car (2J, suzuki gsx and so on) and fit the best allowed tires.

did it with a 650pp furai since it was the first thing that showed on the garage. Beat it at second try with racing hards (plenty of spots to crash) and then realized RS are allowed.

the key with madrid is that the driving line is way off the racing line you can use in the game.

Use either the Peugeot 905 or 908 with the full aero and the engine turned down to get within the PP limit. They are still damn fast able to pass the first couple of cars before the first corner and out-brake anything else on the course. ! I've been making money for the day a 2J turns up on the UCD all week.

Also ignore the Driving line in the last chicane and stay right, I stay in the right hand traffic lane the Line is the left lane. You can brake late and flip/flop the rumble strips of the barriers. Much faster than the driving line which takes you head-on into the barrier on the left unless you almost stop.

I like to think that the new seasonals around DLC release tend to match up quite nice so I've been using the new Jag XJR-9 with BHP tuned to 650pp and gear box set to a low top speed. Nice easy win for grinding if that is what you are after.

Also using the DLC cars in the new seasonals a good way to use the cars that cold money has bought.
