My times are rather consistent on/offline. Give or take 2 or so seconds. Guess we'll see how it goes after our first race.

Anyone else having the problem of getting a car to 502hp, then racing it...oil gets dirty...hp goes down to 487, then go an oil change. Next thing you know it is 513hp, 4 hours of racing later and it's up to 523hp. Kinda the boat I'm in at the minute. Not thrilled about having to possibly buy another car just for tonight.

Exactly what I am doing tonight. My GT-R ended up with about 520. I didnt really add that many parts so I couldnt really mod it back down. So I sold it, won this weeks seasonal challenge with the rally car and am buying a car for tonight. haha. should be fun.
 
how much time do we get to setup our cars between the qualifier and the main?

If you can't get the hp down, I can loan you a 430 Scuderia, pretty much set up for this race. I ended up going with a different car.

Its too bad that the "after break in" HP isn't listed next to the initial HP in the dealership page where you buy the car. I have been breaking in a few cars for this event that are in the 460-475 range when you buy them and most shoot over the 502 HP limit! Hahaha oh well, I think I have a good one for today.
 
Here is what I did. I got an R34 (276 HP) then tuned it up. You should be able to get it to around 470ish quite easily. Then I changed the oil, bang 495HP. Another thing I found that helps, start by getting all the transmission and drive train stuff first. It bumps the HP, so then you dont go overboard with the engine stuff. Had an 09 GT-R I did the opposite to and it ended up wayyyyyy to high.

BTW, anyone else getting the crazy idea to use softs and attempt a pit stop half way through?

Not sure I'd want to attempt a pit stop in an 11 lap race.

When I first logged in I thought we were just running some practice laps, I had no idea that was qualifying. Then on about lap 9 I was in 4th or 5th and a message popped up on my screen saying there was 2 min left of qualifying, when that counted down to 0, I left the track thinking the race was about to start???

I guess I'm just not familiar with how it all works, I didn't know if we were practicing, qualifying, or racing. I kinda expected some kind of message or something letting me know what was expected. Oh well....... live and learn.:)

When the countdown for the race starts, you just have to wait until it reaches zero, then there's a black screen for a few seconds and the race starts.

Sorry you didn't know about the qualifying. It was a change made to the rules about a week ago on the first post. Maybe I should of PM'd everyone to let them know? :confused: Sorry for the confusion. But basically the free run up until the race starts is qualifying.

Im pretty sure it did work I was running around in free practice in 3rd place when I set my time of 2:40.xxx I jumped to pole position and started on pole
 
I placed a 2:37 on qualifying, two times. Is there anything I don't get about the qualif ? Do we have to do more laps or something ?

Good job to you, mate. Good bump ahead for the Constructor Championship, let's hope we'll keep it.

Did you exit the track after you set that time?
 
Haha yeah once. But I set it again afterwards and didn't exit the track. I waited for the countdown on the side of the track, honking.

Maybe my honking was too awesome for the game to handle. Damn you, communist scum.

I took some good shots of the replay, a few of me almost clearing francone over the jump. Hahaha I didn't even see you there until I spun out. I was wondering what I hit in midair!

Unfortunately I do not know how to get them off of the PS3. I will try and figure it out and load them up here as soon as I can.

LOL yea that was a nice jump there. For exporting from your ps3 go to the pictures and hit triangle then save to xmb. Then go to your photos on your xmb and save them to a usb stick. I will make a photo album thread in the AAGP social group. Dont forget everyone to join that. Well I figured that was the way it was..... I'd have been ok if that message saying 2min to go in qualifying hadn't come on my screen, when it counted down to 0, I just left the track. I was in 4th or 5th place at the time.

I kinda figured the format would work differently between qualifying and the start of the race. I think the problem a lot of people had with soft tires was due to them being almost wore out in the qualifying, it seems like we should be able to start on fresh tires.

You actually do get new set of tires at the beginning of the race. It's done automatically.
 
Race start is at 6:15 I think I hit race start at 6:16 so to be on the safe side everyone should make sure they stay on track after 6:10

No worries. I am sure I whacked a couple people too. As a matter of fact i know I cause some sort of ruckus in the beginning, its all good.

Excellent race over all. Cant wait for the next one.
 
It's super tough watching your surroundings while trying hard to race your line and get in front without knocking people, sorry if bumped anyone, none was done on purpose...yet lol jk. Fun race, horrible choice of tires but I'm really liking my car. didn't expect more skylines then GTRs but overall great mix of cars

That was the time showing as best lap when I logged in, I remember thinking that when qualifying started I knew I could run those times.... then before I knew what happend..... qualifying was over and we were racing, lol.

I'm sure I didn't start on fresh tires, that was my first concern when I realized the race was starting, I looked at my tires and they were already white and the wear bar had started moving down. I whish I'd tried running some races before this.... it is a lot more haphazard than I expected. I was kind of expecting a casual get together with qualifying, then when everyone was ready we would line up for the race and then get serious. :)

I did enjoy the racing, I apologize for letting my teamate down..... I would never have dropped out of the race if that message hadn't come on my screen that qualifying was about to end. I'll be more prepared next time.. I promise. 👍

I think what you saw was a previous message. The whole conversation shows up when people chat and I remember someone logging in and saying hello and the message b4 that was 2 min remaining to qualifying

Oh man...... I'm sure you are right, that makes perfect sense now. When you get to be my age, things tend to throw you off LOL.

I'm looking forward to next week.... the racing was a blast 👍

Did anyone notice that both left side tires on the F40 are flat?
 
This is the leauge I belong in for sure, I'm average to below average.I sent some of you guys a friend request. Hope to join up soon! What views do you guys use while online? I like the roof cam veiw but, it doesn't have a mirror so it's hard to know where the cars around you are causing a little unwanted contact from time to time. I tried the bumper cam , while I like the mirror, it throws my driving off. I will try to avoid contact with anyone though.
