Francone - I sent you a psn friend invite - hoping you can let me join - thanks!

That's a big list of car s... If i can enter the series. I'm still clueless on the car

It's really hard to find a non-race car that can get down to 1000kg. Just try to find one that can get as close as possible to that weight. IMO, light weight is more important than max HP, I'd rather have a 1000kg car with 450hp than a 1200kg car with 500hp.

Sorry were not all professionals like you. We are all new to this including myself and if I did cut you off it was not intentional and I do apologize. Just like the many times I got knocked off the track I know it wasn't intentional and im not out here complaining to all the people that pushed me off the track. Were all new/amateurs and the first corner showed it. These things are gonna happen at this level of racing so if you cant deal with it im going to politely ask you to find a more professional series that matches your needs. Has for your claims of me doing this to "win" and saying this is the only way I can "win" well then maybe you should check the standings. I came 5th and far from 1st place. I was just out there doing laps trying to have a good time and improving my skills just like everyone else is. If your going to be in this series you need to accept the fact that everyone on here is new/amateur and things like this are going to happen so accept it, don't whine about it and give each other tips on how to improve, but most of all have fun. We are all about being a chilled out series not taking everything so seriously but yet have some fun with some competition. So once again if I did cut off, ram or make any amateur mistakes like everyone else did I apologize to you guys. As for you skip good luck to you on your future races hope you find a series that suites your needs has this one isn't for you.

After I had some time to think about it I realized that I did take the race too seriously and should have not bashed you for your driving. Its your room and your series of races to run any way you llike. I too am very new at the online racing side of things and have only run with a few people. I guess I expected it to be structured a certain way and there would be some unspoken rules. After going through the pictures from the first race yall had and reading the comments I now realize that you guys didnt take it all too seriuosly and I shouldnt have either. You all are just out there running together and having a good time . I waited all week on your race and got upset when my race fell apart so early. I retract my remarks about you and your driving and apologize for being an ***hole.

It takes a true man to write that umm or woman?!? Anyways right on ya dude, hope you stay. I admire your courage and competitiveness, makes things interesting!

Hey Bicmedic you still in the series? I need my partner!!! or a partner if your done.

peace Homey

Sorry about missing out, I kept getting kicked from the room, this is the only time that it has happened, I went another 90 mins online racing after the race so i don't think it was my connection :grumpy:

I dont think anyone went into the race not caring about hitting someone or running them off the track. I feel its more that we have an understanding that we are just average drivers and these things are going to happen some times. I know I tried to not do anything that would change anyone's race other then trying to put a clean pass on them, well that went out the window on the first corner. I also put myself in the wall to keep from hitting someone. It still was a close and fun race for me till my tires turned to ice and thats what I wanted out of it.

Later in the night I got in a race that was limited to 450hp street cars on the same track. I detuned the NSX and thought I would have a really good chance at doing well. WRONG, so guy in a NSX just like mine smoked me by 13 second in five laps. So there is no doubt I am and average driver.

As far as what car is best? I tried a few and all of then where very close in lap times (1.53-1.50) but the NSX was the most controllable for me on that track. Find a car and tune that you like and work on learning the track. I am dreading the ring, I can not keep a fast car on that track at all.

please try driver standings now it might work

Drivers standing link works for me now, thanks man!

I'm glad that I am still close in points with you guys even after missing a race. I cant wait till next week to play "catch-up"

Sent a PM to francone13, this looks like an absolute blast especially after reading about the first couple of races. I wish I would have noticed this thread sooner, before all the slots filled up, but I'd love to even run practice laps with you guys and stay on as a reserve driver. I love what you've all done here, to create a place for all of us average drivers to flourish, really great stuff. :D

Yes I do want to run with you guys. Thanks francone13 for being so easy going about it. Dont anyone worry about getting in to me cause I realize its all for fun. Ill add you guys when I get home from work today. Thanks again guys.

Great to have everyone on board. I might be a bit slow with updates this week im on a business trip. I know what the problem is regarding people not being able to view the photo album but ill fix that has soon as i get a chance!

I really want to be in on this. Sent francone a PM. If anyone's partner has dropped out, let me know!

Alright gents, (ladies as well if there are any :P)

We should really begin a discussion on how to resolve the 1st corner issue. It would be nice to avoid the pig pile of cars on that first corner, especially at Daytona Road Course, that corner an odd one and with 8 or more cars going at it hard, it will lead to some "fun". Honestly I think we should just stick to the normal GTP rules they have stickied in this forum. Essentially our goal should not be to overtake into the 1st corner, but to get from the side by side formation into a line. Obviously us all being new at this, it is going to be difficult to pull off the first few times. I fell as though as long as we are all making an honest effort at it, it should at least go a bit smoother. Thoughts?

Scuudz, I am on standby at no.17 if you want to add me we can practice and hopefully get a slot if anyone drops out. I am on 2145 est onwards most nights 👍

I agree with what I highlighted in red. Its just good "race-craft" also I purpose we run a "Parade Lap" in order to warm up the tires and space everyone out. All we would need to do for this is run the first lap at a predetermined speed, holding our qualifying positions and each driver leave 3-5 car lengths (Honor system here 👍)

Once you cross the start/finish line your race begins. If it is done correctly then passing on turn one wont be much of an issue, because each car should be spaced out pretty well. I have raced a few times this way and it works really well. I also is a great way to assure nobody gets caught on the starting grid with a "Black-screen"

I know its just more rules, but there is nothing wrong with a little structure in a race program. What are your thoughts?

On the first page of this thread, it looks like waboo is in 16, and Stalliono is on the waiting list at 17?!

I'm not a part of this....yet, so I'm not sure if my input is warranted, but oh well.

I agree that this is a problem if the same thing has happened in the first two races. However, I do not think a parade lap is the solution. In my opinion, it would totally take away from the excitement at the start of the race. If we could say:

1. No over taking at the first corner. (Unless the person in front of you is quite obviously MUCH slower due to maybe having a bad start, taking absolutely the wrong line etc. etc.)

2. Making every effort to not make ANY contact with the driver in front of you. (I'm sure this can be achieved by 'curbing your enthusiasm' :-)) I think all it would take is for drivers to be less aggressive through the first corner.

I think this should work.

Hey Scuudz,
Thanks for the input, I would say any is welcome. I see what you are saying but I going to have to say I’m liking the parade lap idea better. Let’s be honest, as soon as that thing ticks to Go, everyone is going to mash the gas pedal (or X button for you people with the DS3) and head for the turn. At least when I do that I get sorta jumpy and I tend to forget that the people around me are not AI. I think its that adrenaline rush mixed with inexperience that is messing everyone up. The parade lap takes care of that by in a way by letting one car go at a time in a rolling start. This should avoid the huge pile up and let the field spread evenly instead of who ever made it out of turn one wins. It makes the next 30 mins sorta boring. I know I started cutting corners at Monza to improve my lap times vs myself. I stopped racing everyone else.
Consider this my vote for a parade lap.
On a side note, when and if you go off the track. For the love of god try and come to a complete stop off track then proceed back on once people have gone by. I got whacked by someone flying across one of the corners who had spun around. I know its not always possible, but just something to be aware of.

It's a touchy one, I'm thinking ex nay on the parade lap because my car is fantastic at starts so that's where I gain my positions but obviously something must be changed because I went from 7th to 2nd and first turn I was smacked in the barriers. The parade lap changes that whole start. (obviously this is biased since I would be losing an advantage, plus the starts are so special and exciting to racing)

I also love that stop starts often create nice little dog fights after the first turn which more often then not the real fun and real racing begins. I wanna chase a car not an arrow and I think it gives to much of an advantage to the pole position.

What about putting penalties on low? Anyone know what works and what doesn't when penalties are on low or high?

The parade lap would benefit all. Warm tires, Black screen lag issue resolved and race jitters somewhat soothed. The start of a race is only a very short period of time, and in my opinion it does not make your race it can only break it.

The reason I believe that is because making up the few seconds you lost at the start due to car performance at a certain speed can EASILY be made up in length of time our races are. On the flip-side the the 10 - possible 20 seconds or more lost at turn 1 due to a massive car pile up because we were bumper to bumper is going to destroy anyones chances of catching the leaders who escaped train wreck.

Think about it this way; on the starting grid we are separated by close to one car length and we are stopped. With a rolling start and parade lap we are separated by 3-5 car lengths and moving at 60-80 MPH with warm tires. The separation is almost the same as it relates to time. The only downside I see to this type of start is the excitement at the starting grid. Which is fun and good but I don't do it for the first 30 seconds of the race, especially in a race that last for 30 minutes or more. Its all about outlasting your opponent (not crashing)

Just go into any GOOD Super-GT or Le Mans race room and this is how most of them start their race program. Give it a try in what ever lobby you find yourselves in this week before our race and see how good it works.

I know we are all average but, a great way to become better at our racing is to copy what the pro/elite drivers do. Who knows maybe at the end of Season 1 francone will be forced to add an extra "A" the the league acronym ("A" for Above) What ever is decided I am good with, just making suggestions.

after many years of racing atv motox. which all racing is racing. "pull your balls up and cut her tight". what i always done in turn one. most of the time it works. other times well......not so much

I am good going ether way with the starts. The rush of racing into the first turn is great but I also dont want to be the one 20 seconds behind after the first turn.

Also the picture on page one show the Daytona oval. Are we running the oval or road course?

Uh.... the next race isn't on the, Daytona road course (I wish it was), it's on the regular oval.

Ah, I just assumed it was the road because francone and I had practiced on it previously. In which case on a Daytona oval, yea we probably dont need a parade start. I would say parade start for any non oval track.

You really don't see a big pile-up on the first turn at Monaco do you? LOL
