Madcatz have announced a new FFB wheel for Xbox 360, now new Forza players can have a 360 FFB wheel without spending $350-500 on a Fanatec wheel.

After all the bitching about the speed wheel, I'm totally not surprised that MS is able to announce two whole wheels alongside this game.

very welcome news, i wont be making the switch from my pwts to either of these wheels. but its awesome that there are more options out there for people wanting to move over to the 360. It also shows that ms and t10 is taking the hardcore simmer thing alot more seriously than most people give them credit for

Looks like a steamy pile of crap, but I expected that when I read "Madcatz".

I've got my eyes on the Fanatec one instead.

If thrustmaster can manage something like the t500rs, im sure madcatz can manage something to compete with the dfgt

Indeed. I am surprised by how impressive this wheel looks too. I can't wait to check it out.

I'll be waiting for a trusted review before thinking of buying that.

Madcatz to me is synonymous with rubbish.

As was thrustmaster before the T500rs. Im not saying the madcatz wheel will be of that caliber, Im just saying theres no reason it cant be a decent entry level wheel, capable of trading blows with the dfgt

thrustmaster showed companies that make garbage wheels can turn out decent wheels too.

Well, a new entry-level wheel for the 360 sounds very good, even if it's not of the highest quality. I'm also expecting Fanatec's Forza wheel to be a bit cheaper than their current X360 wheels, so...

MadCatz wheel = DFGT, Fanatec Forza Wheel = G25?

It's only too bad there's no clutch, it gives developers like Codemasters an excuse to be lazy.

Well, yeah... I still think we're gonna hear the "I've already got a Logitech wheel and am not gonna shell out on a second one for Forza" line quite often as we're approaching the game's release.

Not that I'd care about that, though

Not sure why they would use that line. It's more expensive to use a logitech wheel that only works with PC and PS3. I would rather use a wheel that works with all three to save money. Unless they have money to burn!

If we're talking about people who have no wheel yet (like me), that's true. I was reeffering to all of those GT players that already bought a Logitech wheel for their PS3 and will therefore refuse to get FOrza, as the wheel they already own will not be compatible.

Ah true. I guess if GT only players only want to play GT and have the G series, I guess that is their perogative. Us GT and Forza (and PC) sim racers prefer having one excellent wheel for all of our racing needs ;)

Exactly ;) If I can finally get a wheel that enables me to use it on all platforms for a relatively low price, I'll be all over it. Hell if there was a game that I felt was good enough, I would've even shelled out for a Fanatac already...
Seems like a) I'll get to buy a cheaper wheel and b) Forza 4 would make me buy even one of the more expensive ones...

Good thing I don't need to buy a 360, too

Ah, not being loyal to any franchise feels sooooo good at times.

The Madcatz wheel might cost $230.00. :odd:

    From FM.net...

    http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/Forza4_Wheels/

Mad Catz' Wireless Force Feedback Racing Wheel announcemt, from http://www.madcatz.com/wheel
IMO it's missing 1 feature to be considered at that price. 900º of rotation... I grabed my WRW back when they were reintroduced to the market after the voltage problems were fixed. I paid $160 for it. And I felt that was an appropriate price. It's still going strong today. @ $230, this better be a rock solid wheel or else Mad Catz is just setting them selves up for failure. Truthfully, I really believe it is going to be a much better wheel than the WRW (and possibly Microsoft's Sidewinder FFB from back in the day) but is doesn't sound like it is $230.00 worth of gaming wheel. Maybe I would be presently surprised...

Maybe it's the metallic chassis that drove the cost up. It adds to the durability.

Plus... we already know what that less expensive Mad Catz option is....
    http://www.madcatz.com/productinfo.asp?page=248&GSProd=4961&GSCat=98&CategoryImg=Xbox_360_Wheels

I am going to set my sights on the Fanatec CSR with a CSR shifter and CSP pedals. I think I will be paying $600 when all is said and done, but at least I will have a wheel that is useable on more than just the 360.

So they said how many degree it is? You said 900 degree is missing, but I don't see the degree listed.

That said, I am fine without 900 degree, but it would be nice to have a clutch.

^ Nothing about the degrees as of yet, but going off of the last press release and Xbox wheel from Mad Catz, what ever isn't mentioned isn't included. (Remember, the wireless wheel did not mention rumble? The wheel was released, tested and behold... No rumble. ;) )

Now I am thinking the wheel doesn't turn what so ever. Thanks Bogie...

Turning is optional actually. The casual crowd isn't into turning a wheel, so they just turn with their minds.

For me the only game on X360 I want to race is Forza and even Fanatec Gt3 clubsport edition is $120 cheaper than Gt2 with CSP. You have to really pay to have X360 compatibility. Except for Forza I can get all other racing games on PS3 and PC. It's not Logitech that is more expensive it's X360 that's more expensive. The same with HDD.
Madcatz may have pay Mircosoft to get the chips for the wheel's ffb which drives up the cost. Fanatec GT2 is exactly like GT3 but $70-$120 more depending if you add CSP.

Just the opposite for me. I only need the PS3 for GT5, otherwise I have all my racing games on the 360 and PC. But either way, it's cheaper to have one wheel that works with all three, instead of buying 2 wheels.

Any pc wheel will work on PS3 (G27 for example) which cost nothing extra but the same it's not true with X360.

Actually, most super high end wheels like the frex and ecci's dont. ;)

Also im in the same boat as bogie. My ps3 only gets used for gt5 and 3d blu rays. Infact I could pull my 3d blu ray player out of storage, sell the ps3 and never notice it gone. Its a shame they are worth virtually nothing :(

OK. I'm surely not in your league. If you can spending that kind of money on wheels ($2600) then spending $500 for X360 wheel is nothing.

What?!? Every wheel the works on the 360 works on PC, lol. BTW, not every wheel that works on the PC works on the PS3. Not sure where you got that.
