Me personally, I'd rather the schedule stay just the way it is. Monaco is a tough race in any car on GT5 with a good sized grid and I was looking forward to the challenge even though I'm convinced I'm not going to do well...lol. Also, at the bigger tracks a double win is easily possible whereas at Monaco it would be a real accomplishment. It also gives a real chance for some of the fellas that are a little or even a lot off the polesitter's pace to get a victory in the reverse grid race and that's something I'd really like to see:tup:

I vote to leave it on the schedule as is. We knew the race was there at the beginning of the season and we all know what it's like to run at Monaco. Running an enduro will almost ensure a victory by the polesitter and won't be a lot of fun racing all in a line for 45 minutes.

I'd like to keep Monaco... I like the track, especially with this car; makes for some tough racing, and with the race distance, it should still give the fast guys enough time to move up after the reverse grid. I think if everyone uses their heads like we did getting through the first chicane at Monza last week, we won't have any problems.

I was in a 7 lap race, couldn't pass 1 car in that time. I would think even a Great-Monaco-master driver could only do 1 car a lap (without help).

I would still like Monaco and Spa to be on the calender.

Vote we keep with the current schedule.

So are you and Brandon gonna have a double date with your triplets next Tuesday?

I not sure how quickly I will have my set up complete. Gotta build a rig to hold the monitors. Build mounts for shakers. Really need to weld on the Rig again. Uggggh bring in 110 welder and lay down tarp weld in living room. LoL carry outside and to shop. Prob safest to do second.

Monitor rig will be stand alone. This way my tactile shakers will not be vibrating the monitors.

We'll race at Monaco as planned then, just thought I'd mention it.

Still waiting on you to sell me one of your rigs so I can step up to a big boy wheel... 💡

You should have me make you a customs one. Heck we can copy with some tweaks that Rhino seat. Simple effective. Or go more elaborate. You let me know when.

Brandon, appreciate the looking out and giving the chance to change tracks if people were dreading the tightness of Monaco.

Haha, picturing that cracked me up, maybe you guys could monitor swap

Thanks B for the suggestion about changing the track too, but I also think it's too short of notice. Monaco is tight, but it effects everyone equally, and if I recall correctly the cap race here was quite enjoyable, at least for myself.

I'd be ok with a custom or a copy, I really liked the looks of your T500 rig. I'm still hung on what wheel to go with though... I'm leaning to the T500RS, but the price and load cell mod-ability of the G27 pedals is a nice perk for future upgrades, though it's probably safe to say that there will be a load cell mod for the T500 pedals in the future... Don't know enough about the fanatec/club sport stuff to have an opinion. I've played with a DFGT before, and I did like it, despite it feeling pretty generic and detached, the pedals seem the be the big let down there.

I died when I read that... My coworkers are all looking at me funny.

Wait, do people actually practice before race day?? Maybe I'll have to try that. :dunce:

I like to practice for about 45 minutes to an hour 6 days before the race, then not get on again until 20-30 minutes before qualifying. As you can see by looking at the standings, it's a foolproof strategy.

......maybe you guys could monitor swap

Owens better keep his hands (and eyes) off my monitors, if he knows what's good for him! :ouch:

I'd heard that the one on the right had been seen out with an X-Box.

I'm glad we're keeping Monaco. Sure it's gonna be tough and things might get hairy, but I think it will be fun nonetheless.

Oh, and who's got bigger monitors? ;) 7" vs ?"
Or the size doesn't matter? ;)

In other news - I drove a few laps around Monaco yesterday after the update, and I think the FF has changed noticeably. It doesn't make the car go faster, but the feedback feels smoother. Or maybe they just altered the correspondence of GT5 feedback settings to motor output.

I say keep things as is. It is sort of like when a series goes to a short track. Everyone needs to put on their big boy pants and deal with a little touching here and there. I am not a fan of the track and struggled big time last night, but it was part of the schedule and I think it will be interesting if nothing else.

Looks like she'll be spending some time in The Dungeon.

It puts the lotion on its skin? :nervous:

Dc?! :yuck:

Meh is right Brandon. Racing at Monaco sucks.
My screen was tearing a little bit, always in the same corners. Race 2 saw a massive loss of grip on laps 2 and 3.
Qualifying was grand, but the grid line up was awful. After qualifying we all exited to the lounge and then went back to the pits. I qualified 7th but it put me on pole. After a manual lineup we got under way.
Apart from a brief flirtation with 6th place courtesy of a spin by Yuri, normal service was resumed and I didn't see much of anything after my own chat with the barrier after Lowes.
Race 2, I was on pole and really really didn't want to be. Everyone was at least two seconds faster than me and I really felt under pressure to not wreck anyone's race. Yuri and WRP go me in the first corner and by the end of lap two the field had passed me. Not sure how much passing, if any, took place.

One thing that was questioned was the number of laps. 10 seemed rather short, especially after Monza which had a longer lap time and we ran 12 laps. Mind you, I'd have been happier with 5 lap races!

Qualifying:

Pole: dsgerbc Time: 1:46.821

Wondering what qualifies as "improved online physics" within the 2.04 patch, so I emailed PD to find out and this is what they said:

1. After the 2.04 patch, 16 players can now line up randomly on the grid after qualifying within a "fastest first" grid set up, instead of the previous 12. Luckily, reverse grid will continue to work.

2. Before the patch some of you may have lost your tire sound during a race or warm up. Now instead of 2/12 losing it, it will be 2/16.

3. Random levels of grip throughout a race will be maintained to enhance the fun factor and unpredictability of the GT5 gaming experience.

Sincerely,

Kaz

EDIT: on a side note, my new BP is a 1:46.2 in practice mode.
1:45 is doable!

Not really that fun track to race on, the Q session was great, Dsg just got me on the last lap.
Sorry all about the seconds race lap 1, I missed my brake point and tried to put it in the wall. On lap 9 when I was chasing yuri I cut the chicane, sorry.

Most importantly, you won't be running 26s in the race because you'll be dealing with traffic, will have a draft, etc. Hot laps don't mean much when it comes to racing with other cars. :sly:

Ran a 46.7 in race 2 ;)

I really wish the race were longer, 10 laps was WAY to short.

That's why this site has so many IRacing ads on it....

I think I must have been lucky with the physics up until now. At Monza I felt in total control of the car, able to do pretty much what I wanted to do with it. At Monaco I can't seem to tell from lap to lap what is going to happen:nervous: Not having tire sounds probably has a lot to do with it as I run my sound pretty loud and it's a big part of the "feel" of the car for me, although I was still erratic with the tire sounds in warm up:grumpy:. In the first race I lit up the rear end and didn't realize it until it was too late. Normally I can hear the tire squeal and back off a bit. Damn you PD!!

Three cars had no trouble getting by me in the second race...passing doesn't seem to be a huge problem when it's me in front of you at Monaco:crazy:

Monza, race 1, my brakes were shot, couldn't control the car, just felt wrong.

it's unlike you to be off pace, that tire noise seems to go more often, and others said the grip left.
I was using a DS3 and didn't feel anything.

Sounds like we have an interesting night ahead of us. Great. I'll be extra sure to record the qualifying results for when we have to manually stage the grid.

I sure hope there's tire noise tonight. I apparently need it for consistency in quite a few corners here. Didn't seem to be a problem @Fuji though, so maybe I just suck.

Knock on wood I have never had the problem of no tire noise. Hope I dont start now.
