Thanks for racing again tonight. Yuck on my part. I really like this track, but was struggling even more than usual tonight. Hoping for some great racing tomorrow night. The grip did feel great in practice. Felt it wasn't the same in race trim though. I felt like I was losing front end grip more in racing than practice (not in the draft and with warm tires). It could very well just be me...pretty sure it is me.

The high light tonight was finishing in front of carracer and sag. They both had an incident when that happened, but hey, I will take it ;)

Curious how you guys determine firesuit/helmet colors and car colors? Do you tend to stick with a certain color scheme for a car, or does it depend on the car? What about the suit stuff, by color, design, number??? Just curious.

I typically stick with a red or blue car, not sure why. Will play with other combos though. For suit, I really like the white alpine, it is neutral and I like the clean look of the white (especially the gloves with the cockpit view). Been running the newer Warp 7 helmet. The serial number 7 is a big one with my OCD :). I think I am going to change helmets each week with the Alfas. Color scheme based on the country we are racing in.

Never put much thought into my suit/helmet combination. I should try and find a Purple/Gold combo to go with my car 💡

Guys, I can't make my (primary) Fri night race, and am about 50/50 for making the Sat race. Not too happy about it, I had a great time last week. 👍

I got some bad news in my inbox this morning. :(

I've been quite unhappy with the "ship to store" deal, it's been over 2 weeks since I ordered and not only have the monitors not arrived but they are going to be arriving later than promised with no estimated delivery date. My order still says "no tracking info available", so basically I've given them over 400 bucks and have no idea if/when I'll ever receive my products. I'm seriously considering canceling the order and just paying a bit extra to buy some off the shelf somewhere. Very disappointed. 👎

I'd stick it out if I were you Brandon, if they ****ed up the easy bit imagine the BS they could create trying to get it canceled and your money back. Stick it out, lesson learned, never use them again. I feel disappointed for you, that is just how obvious your excitement was.

After last nights terrible driving I decided to get a more fitting rig!

Actually, I'm thinking of getting it for my daughter.

^ It's actually very easy to cancel it and they provided me the info in the email on how to do it. I'm checking out shops near my work and finding some for about the same price, probably going to go shopping at lunch today. :)

Does the screen on that steering wheel work on GT5?? Like the 125 Kart?? :dunce:

That is very disappointing for you Brandon. Ask them to ship you one of these instead:

As it turns out, because the item has already shipped I cannot cancel the order. I can return them for a full refund though, so I might take delivery of them and then walk right to the customer service center to return them.

Just frustrating, I have everything ready to go but have no idea when I'll be able to set it up because my monitors are in limbo somewhere. I've waited patiently but my patience is running out.

Tell the boss at work you're taking a few monitors home for degaussing/pantone tuning this weekend!

Most of the one's we have that don't have the computer guts built into them are old CRT monitors. I'd rather just race with one screen than 3 of those!

Brandon, next time use newegg.com or amazon.com. Five stars and you won't have to pay sales tax. I've built computers from the ground up component by component and newegg is just awesome for any technology part including monitors. I pay sales tax for newegg since I'm in California and I don't for Amazon so that is the tie breaker if the price is equivalent.

Question for you Brandon: What did you look for in the monitor? Bezel, edge size, response rate, refresh rate, screen technology (LCD vs LED, TN vs IPS), frequency, features, input options, mounting options, contrast ratio, viewing angle, etc.

I'm going to start researching for a triple setup that will mount on my obutto. I think 100mm VESA mounting holes is a requirement. All monitors are not created equal or manufactured for the same application. The most expensive are great for resolution and color accuracy. But those tend to not be the best for gaming where response rate and refresh rate are more important. Some actually do pre-processing which is bad for gaming, but may have a gaming mode which will bi pass all pre-processing.

That's how my current monitor works. Out of the box it looked horrible and I just about sent it back. But after doing some research I found some tricks. Each input had a name you could give it. Well if you changed the "name" of the HDMI input to "PC" it completely changed the way it processed the image. Weird, but it worked.

tigerdirect.com is nice as well if you can catch a sale. I have ordered from them before, computer monitors, 5 stars from me.

^^^👍👍👍

When I built my computer and whenever I upgrade anything on it, I pretty much shop exclusively at newegg and tigerdirect. Both are great.

Looking at Asus VS248H-P's myself. Amazon under two bills each. Great reviews out on it. Newegg has 5star rating with several ratings too.

Will be ordering in about two weeks here. Maybe before if I can swing some magic. ;)

I looked on those sites, too but walmart.com was about $30 cheaper per monitor. But screw 'em.

I mainly went for price, 1080p and response rate. My current 32" is a kinda crappy Sanyo 720p lcd that has about a 10 minute response/refresh rate so pretty much anything is gonna be an upgrade.

So, on my lunch break I went to Fry's Electronics and picked up these beauties. 23", 1080p, 5ms response rate. :) $150 each, in the back of my car right now.

 There are reasons there are still brick and mortar stores. When you want it and need it now! 👍

^ Yep! I was tired of waiting. I have a race tonight and tomorrow, plus it's below 20 degrees and disgusting here so I'll be inside all weekend. Needed some triple-screen goodness to keep me entertained! 👍

EDIT: Is it quitting time yet?!?

Thank God I'm already broke. Between the triple monitor and Fantec wheel talks, I'd end up broke and divorced. I would have a pretty sweet driving setup though.

I'm with Diabolical on this one. Might have to unsubscribe from this thread until all this triple monitor excitement dies down. Otherwise it could be divorce for me too!

I wonder if GTPlanet has ever been cited in a divorce case? :sly:

That means it could work for the Obutto monitor mounts. What's the exact Acer model number?

I've decided the triple monitor setup isn't enough for me, I'm going with this. Not sure it would work with GT5, so I might have to switch over to iRacing.

Your "boss" isn't happy with your contraption of a simulator now. Pretty sure she is not going to go for one of those. On the upside, if she leaves you, there is more room that set up :sly: . There is a silver lining in everything 💡.
