To all you people who whine about why GT5 never fully supported leaderboards -- perhaps this is the reality check that hits home.

I guess it's no surprise someone actually thinks it's OK to cheat in online games.

Sad, but some people just don't understand what would make an online competition fun. People want to enjoy a fair fight. Cheaters destroy the fun.

If you don't get it, that's pretty sad.

This is bs what's the point of doing the time trial if cheaters own the leader board. Pd needs to something because they're ruining good events

How does this guy getting a faster time than you, affect you? Is it stopping you from getting gold? Is there some prize for placing 1st on the leader board? Do you all cry about everything that anyone does of which you disapprove? Who ****ing cares? You know his time isn't legit, why isn't that enough?

Are you one of them?

Let's say outa there are some guys which have fun to battle each other with a better time.
Hard tuning and racing for a deserved place in the leaderboard, or "only" to be #1 in the friends leaderboard.

One of the top 256, worldwide! Something to be proud of. :dopey:👍

And the cheaters destroying the battle & the fun for the honest players. 👎:irked:

You've got the point?

If it indeed doesn't matter how it's done, why create these online time trials in the first place then?
The leaderboard should only include legit times, if not, the whole concept of a leaderboard is pointless if the leaders are cheaters.
You might not care about leaderboards (don't care much about them myself) but if they're included they should be showing the best drivers on top, not the best cheaters.
Some aim to get at the top of the leaderboard simply because they want to be the best or fastest driver, that's their 'prize' if you will.

I guess the morons that have to glitch online must have a very small penis or they are just to skillless to get the job done without cheating. :sly:

Or maybe he set his time, turned his PS3 off and found something else to do in the world knowing full well it'd make people like you get your knickers in a twist and rant and rave about him and attack on a forum to make you feel good about yourself!

Pick your car, set a time, take the money and gifts, exit seasonals, go play GT online and prove just how good you are ther......its not hard

But, it's completely obvious who is using the exploit. Still, no one has explained how this detracts from their own experience in the least.

How is being ranked 256 in the world any different from being ranked 257 with an obvious cheat at the top? Until someone can give a legitimate answer to that, you're all just crying about something that has absolutely no bearing on you whatsoever.

You apparently don't understand the fun of an online competition. The fun is seeing your name at #1 or #10 or #50 or whatever. Not #53 but the first 3 guys cheated so I'm really 50.

Just because YOU don't care about it and YOU don't enjoy it, doesn't mean other people can't. Heck the leaderboard was all old arcade games had, it was exciting to put your 3 digit initials into the Space Invaders arcade machine in the top 10.

You still haven't explained what difference it makes. Anyone who cares about the rankings can easily see who's legit, and who's not, while the ones who don't care about the rankings, don't fahking care about it.

Also, I support the above post.

Instead of fixing all the 'holes' in each track (which ofcourse is, ideally, the best solution, don't get me wrong), couldn't they just implement a minimum time?
Not sure what the best proper time is on this time trial (think I only managed a low 0:52) but something like, say 10 seconds in this case, below what's humanly possible?
This minimum time should be secret ofcourse, otherwise they'll just wait a few seconds before crossing the line.......
Not sure this is a good suggestion though but it at least makes cheating a bit harder.

The problem with this solution is people could still cheat and get a top 50 time ... only the top 10 have replays. So while you could eliminate extreme times, you still don't know who cheated and beat you.

The cheaters are just pathetic people, but after the Nurb 24 hour fiasco, I'm leaning towards blaming PD for this ... how hard could it be to patch the tracks?

I was going to spend time on this particular time trial to try and get top 100, but now I'm finished as there is no point. I'll beat my friends list and call it a day.

Time trials are not about the Gold, they are about comparing your legit times to everyone else's and seeing where you stack up as a driver. Cheating scum ruins that. If you want to cheat the track go do it in practice or arcade mode, doing it in the time trial just ruins it for everyone else because PD is just going to remove it like they did the Nurb 24 hour.

The problem is, from my point of view, is that everyone is trying to be number 1. Any cheater with an ounce of sense who wants to be number 1 will wait until someone sets a 48s lap, for example, then will cheat to set a 47.5s lap.

PD should sell DLC to hire some online referees.
Once a TT comes up, check the top of the leaderboard replays.
If exploiting the track is witnessed. Then the PSN user should be warned, and if they do it again, banning should be considered.
Sure its just a game, but it gets serious when competitions are in order.

Before we crucify or accuse people of cheating has anyone watched the replay to confirm that the person glitched? I hate cheats but let's be sure before we accuse.

This made me laugh.

Was just happy to get the gold with a sluggish 53 second lap.

 - Well, that`a good point of view. Can anybody in this forum change the "cheater problem"? No. So why spend time and nerves on that?

I think, PD recognizes well what happened. I leave it there.

I`m happy to get easy credits, so what?

Weird how GT5 Prologue still has leadearboards for tracks like Suzuka then. Don't you think? Something tells me that PD wanted to have full attention to their Seasonal Events or they just cannot figure out how they will implement permanent leaderboards in GT5.

What I did. :)👍

Not worth spending more "competition" time at the seasonals now, with the glitchers.

Again, GT5 has no cheaters, "only" glitchers. PD have to fix their game, they are to blame.

In the meanwhile, PD, you could release seasonals without leaderboards (now Wall of Shame). :dunce:👍

I´m sure PD knows how to implement the leaderboard but I´m also sure they don´t know how to fix the holes in the tracks.

If they don´t fix the holes in the track , you´ll have the exploiters permanently on the leaderboard.

I cannot believe and understand why PD has not fixed that yet, it is so easy to notice. This should be very frustrating for those who can do the best legal times. For this I think PD should be blamed even more than the cheaters/glitchers.

Really happy for the heads up there are new seasonal TTs. really bummed its possible yet again to glitch the track. I dont care if I cant get top ten just that I cant see awesome drivers in action at their ultimate best and learn from them. I assume maybe theirs still a clean driver in top ten but soon it will be all glitchers no doubt.👎

All I hope is that PD leave this one up. When they took the nurb one down last time, didn't they also wipe the 1,000,000cr winnings from everyone (providing they hadn't spent it) ?

In every system which has people in it you'll always find a certain percentage of them [people] who will try to beat it [the system].
No exceptions.
You can't prevent people from doing it but you can control them.

I hope you now realise why GT5 doesn't have leaderboards.
No leaderboard > this.

I'm in favor of banning glitchers from the time trials, as opposed to cancelling the tt altogether. Not sure what the logistics involved would be, but it seems like they're punishing the entire community over a couple of douchebags.

On a personal note, i'll shortcut a chicane on seasonals or glitch for credits, but not on a leaderboard competiton. If that means I get banned, you won't hear me complain.

I'm also sure they know how to but I'm not sure that they know how they will implement permanent leaderboards, if even at all. True that the holes needs to be fixed and it's amazing they even were there to begin with.

Parabulla
Good for you. Some nights going home I travel about 10mph over the speed limit. I'm not breaking the law....until I get caught. Then I too can't complain....

I'm sure PD will remove this time event, just like the nurb one.

So quick guyz, grab the prize, and use it otherwise the prize money will be taken back (that's what happened to me last time) :D
