teccboxx:
what wheel you ordered and where do you live??
You know that some wheels will not be in stock at fanatecs till mid august?

I ordered the gt3, before I ordered I checked to see if they were instock and when it will ship. They said yes and it will ship within 48 hours. Well it is way past 48 hours. I have had better communication with a guy building stuff out of his garage than I have had with fanatec. Heck I saw Thomas was online earlier and never even responded. I am already regretting forking over the $380 for the wheel and shifter.

ok, i thought maybe it would be the turbo UE which is out of stock.
Yeah they have a little problem with support and really need to work on that to be really competetive but it's a very little company for the moment with worldwide activity, so they are surly really busy and not trying to enrage you.
And Thomas is CEO and no support guy, so you can bet that he's really busy too, and being online and being in front of the screen is 2 different things.
If you read about fanatec before purchase, you knew about this problems with fanatec.
a bit of patience and understandement, and don't enrage yourself,... ;) when you get it, all will be forgotten

I understand your frustrations but they had Network Issues last week hence the delay. I have found the sales / order team generally respond within 24 hours, but the technical support team tend to respond within 5 days :yuck:

Thanks guys, yeah I am frustrated. If they had issues last week then why couldn't tell me that in the email responses other than yes we see you have paid and will ship sometime this week. This is just totally different than what they said before I purchased.

As far as Thomas being on screen or online, if he was able to post in a different thread in this forum last night and in this thread as well. It doesn't take that long to reply to a post.

Honestly being in a manufacturing setting, and getting orders daily I just cannot understand the slow shipping. I am at the point if it doesn't ship I will just cancel payment and go with the G27.

Having a problem that's getting worse by the day. While playing iracing my wheel will lock quite often, only for s split second. For example if I am turning into a corner the wheel will freeze momenterily (but not actually switch off as the buttons stay lit), the wheel will stay at the same angle but the pedals don't respond to any inputs during it.

These only happen for a split second at a time but yesterday it was happening almost every 10 seconds. I've tried checking all the power cables are plugged in, re-calibrating the wheel both in iracing and the PW Property page and I've tried adjusting dead-zone, FF and steering angle etc.

Any ideas on what is causing this and/or how to solve it?

Well what a mess, I am finally getting some feedback. Thomas is saying that they have issues with logistics. At least he is polite about it.

Then Claudia who was the one who said it will ship in 48 hours said she told me that two weeks ago and things will change. On monday she replied back that it was paid and it will ship this week. NOW I just got a email stating it won't ship till next week. What the heck NEXT WEEK.

WHAT A MESS.

Well just talked to Thomas he is pretty cool, and I trust him. I don't mind having to wait for an item as long as the company is honest and I believe Thomas is. So fingers crossed that it will ship next week. LOL

Anyway can't wait to get and thanks to Thomas who cleared everything up.

Well I had a similar situation the first Fanatec wheel I ordered. It's a combination of being super excited and a bit of doubt about Fanatec as a company. I had similar feelings and I <3 Fanatec now that I have my wheel(s)...

They do a great job for their size and product line.

Glad to hear it, as a very happy Turbo S owner for the last 8 months it can get disheartening seeing negative experiences here and on other forums, not for myself as such but because I want as many folks as possible to come over to Fanatec products and see how great they are, but can understand how poor experiences can put off those swaying between differing manufacturers.

Any Canadians here who can shed light on how much CBSA & UPS are gonna tack on to my Fanatec order ? Thanks - much appreciated.

I bought a Fanatec wheelstand. I don't remember exact numbers but the UPS fees were really expensive. It was a large percentage of the total price, maybe 25%?

Thanks - yeah its been a while since I ordered a "big ticket" item from the states and had UPS ship it.

Got my first delivery today from fanatec.
Need to phone them to look if there are things missing or not.
But recieved my colour plates for the pedals (orange), carbon paddles and the shifter set.
Very fast delivery : Moday dispatch. recieved today. Good to know for the wheel. Now i can´t wait

One question: How do you hardmount or mount the shifters at all??? There are no holes on the bottom....

You should of waited out for the clubsport shifter dude. I dont know from experience, but the only way to hard mount based on videos ive seen, is to drill them! Yeah

You can use the chopsticks that slot into the wheel, but they're a bit rubbish apparently. Get a refund before you void the warrenty installing them, I think thomas said something about having the clubsport out for GT5. .... Or was that the carrera wheel? Cant remember

i know about the CS shifter. But it's out end of the year, if i remember correctly. And it's still not sure (no fix release date). And it grinds my gears not having gears. they don't cost that much.

the chopsticks are not for me as i don't want the shifter on the same height as the wheel.
Then i have to drill them. I still have some time. I've ordered the turbo which is only out on the 15th...
Need to search for the vids now.

i saw now stega had them cuffed to the shifter holder. Maybe that's also an alternative

IIRC Carrera is the main focus right now and that will be out before GT5. Clubsport shifter and handbrake won't be seriously worked on until after the Carrera releases. CSS and CSH will be out after GT5.

Before you drill it out try a few alternatives, I saw one where the person used two cables ties to secure it, might not be super strong but at least worth the try to see if it works for you since it is cheap, easy and you can get rid of it easy if you don't like it.

Other alternative would be to attach a vertical wooden plate to whatever you want to hold your shifter. Then drill two holes in it where you want the shifter to go and drill them the size of the rods or the holes in the shifter (maybe a little smaller). You can keep the rods long if you want or you can cut them with a dremel and then insert the shifter all the way until it is sitting up against the wooden plate. This will save your warranty and it will be strong and stiff.

If you don't want to cut the metal rods then you can probably get those long wooden rods that people use to make dowels and cut them to size, my local store only has imperial though and none that they have fit except for one that needs a hammer/mallet to go in and I don't even know if it goes in all the way. I think that was 1/2" but I'm not certain.

If you're really set on drilling, I recommend opening the shifter up first to see where everything is and to make sure you're not drilling into anything important.

thanks,crazedmodder... Stega has this cables ties,...
i will try that at first , and if it isn't as sturdy as i want i will built a enclosure to put the shifters in. I also thought about the holes for the chopsticks to fix it with rods like you told. Maybe combining rods and enclosure...

drilling will be only optionized if the rest doesn't work.

i began my holidays today so i should have time to create someting proper.

I hope they will think of a hardmount for the CSShifter

Guys. No need to mod anything to hard mount your shifter.

For $20 you can buy the "Rennsport WheelStand Shifter Adapter"

It can be mounted to anything (with the enclosed hardware), and is solid as a rock. No drilling, no zip-ties. Just a solid mounting point.

See here for an example:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=116737

BTW, I have inverted my CSP's, and I will provide a detailed (it's incredibly easy) description on how you can do it too.

I'll look forward to this 👍 I had a look for a guide showing how to do it, but it seems the only one that was around has disappeared 👎

Ordered the GT3 RS v2 Clubsport edition today, roll on delivery! :D

I'll probably look at making my own cockpit before GT5 is released, until then the coffee table will have to do :p

Jesus dude must be nice I am not expected to get my stuff until next week now. I am about ready to give up on my order. I am tired of waiting.

When did you place your order???

Well when you actually get the wheel, trust me you will not be saying that. You will be very satisfied/pleased; you are just very excited about the wheel and frustrated with the shipping right now.

@Delphic Reason: thanks for the info. it's real easy to miss that shifterclamp on their site because you need to look at the wheelstand accessory.
Can you give me a close up of that clamp please?
I still don't know if i gonna buy it though because of the CSShifter. Don't want to invest more in the shifters if a better comes out in a few months.

looking forward to your reverse pedal mod ;D

teccbox. i live in the neighbour country to germany so delivery is really not far and usally it takes 1-2 days from germany to me.

Oh, and I wouldn't worry about the CS Shifter. It's still a ways off, and whatever you mount the shifter adapter to, should easily be able to double as the CS Shifter mount.

looking forward to your reverse pedal mod ;D

I'm looking forward to releasing it. As you said, the guide by Mr. Latte (Wheel Nut) is gone, due to the site going down, so I figured others might like to know how easy it is to invert your pedals. Some of the credit goes to Mr. Latte for giving me the info I needed to make it happen.

I am sure I will enjoy it and that is why I didn't cancel my order. I am just tired of the run around I am getting. However it seems that it is finally moving well I least I think. Monday I finally recieved my invoice. Tuesday I got a tracking number. As of right now they havn't dropped off the package to UPS or UPS has picked it up yet. Once I know UPS has it I can rest with ease. I wish I was overseas because the US branch of Endor is slower than a snail. Thomas is a cool cat though

Ok. The carrera wheel review please. ;)

The PWC will be released soon, so as soon as production starts you will get your review.

I received an email from Thomas stating just that, so stay tuned. you don't have much longer to wait.

;)
