Any stores planning a midnight launch?

I just spoke to them,they will open at 10pm as stated. They want you to line up to the counter and pay up front and as midnight nears you will have line up again and show your reciept and they will hand you the game after midnight. You might as well track down a local store that`s just doing a regular midnight launch and turn up 10 mins early. Saves the trip down to Miranda!
 
A local Wally world is going to bring out the boxes at 12:00am on the release date, and they said there won't be any issues with product, not sure if I believe them, but I do have a back-up plan....

Did anyone figure out if there will be a problem with having multiple discs on one system, i will buy a 2nd as a back-up.. this game is way to precious to be stuck without one if something happens...

maybe I am just a crazy person... :crazy:

Down here in Florida I pre-ordered at a gamestop but I think they are yanking my chain because they cannot and will not give me an answer about a midnight launch. They just keep going "Yeah! Probably! Maybe! Not sure though! We'll call you!"
The guys didn't even know the release date had been updated.

If there is no Midnight launch, I'm going to be waiting outside with a machete 9am Wednesday morning.

Down here in Florida I pre-ordered at a gamestop but I think they are yanking my chain because they cannot and will not give me an answer about a midnight launch. They just keep going "Yeah! Probably! Maybe! Not sure though! We'll call you!"
The guys didn't even know the release date had been updated.

If there is no Midnight launch, I'm going to be waiting outside with a machete 9am Wednesday morning.

I guarantee that they won't be. It's obvious that they don't care about the game. Your best bet is cancelling your pre-order and picking it up from Wal-Mart on Tuesday night.
 
I just noticed in the new GT5 commercial that came out today that there is a kid standing outside of a game store and he is in line for a GT5 midnight launch! So...I deduce that all Gamestops will be doing a midnight launch for GT5.

Sony cannot show a commercial of a kid standing in a midnight launch line for GT5 and then....not have a midnight launch.

What do the rest of you think of this?
 
^ I also noticed in that commercial there were two R8s drifting. R8 is an AWD car wth is it doing drifting.

Anybody know if any stores in Los Angeles (burbank/pasadena) area are doing a midnight launch?

I called 6 stores within 10 miles of me. All of them gave me a simple no.

:lol: thx Doc, I feel better already... like AA, just knowing you have the disorder is sometimes enough... but not enough to get me GT5 ASAP!!!!

I didn't check my gamestop, I will ask them tomorrow......

Silly question.. anyone else have questions on the U.S. packaging, as I can look at it up close again tomorrow if I stop by work.... its still very very irritating that its there and I can go look at it, but can't play it until Wednesday...@@ :banghead:
 
Emo Kid walked into a GameStop today and snagged a CE. I'll be calling my store around lunch to see if they got it :)

Midnight launches are based solely on the sales of the individual stores. It is even possible to have two gamestops in a mall and only one have a midnight launch 'cause it had enough pre-orders and the other one didn't.

Just because he walked out with a copy doesn't mean you can. The way he says it, it almost sounds like he stole it.
 
Just checked with Game and the shop I can actually park my car outside near me is on for a midnight launch.

Its so on :)
 
Hmm well....

The gamestop here is actually in a Walmart parking lot (no joke) but the few times I've tried to get a midnight game at Walmart is this tiny town I'm currently working in, people have even checked in the back for me and found nothing.

But if gamestop doesn't do their midnight thing I might seriously go into Walmart and get my game, then go back later and cancel my pre-order...

Can you cancel even after the release date?
 
I always thought stores that sold products (games, movies) before release date were subject to a fine. Is this not the case in France (or Europe)? I'm very surprised that a gamestop in the states sold a copy early too (if Emo Kid's account is true).
 
if there any Portugueses out there , there will be midnight launch at "game "shop in " norte shoping ". just call them , they wont sell it before midnight , ill go with my wife 9 month pregnant , maybe she could get a copie earlier :P
 
GAME in Sheffield is open at midnight! YAY! I'll be sure to take a few beers with me, to keep me warm! XD

The R8 has a rear bias, despite it's all wheel drive can have a fair amount of over steer. Much of the over steer is due to "lift off" due to being mid-engine. However, the rear wheels have more torque which would allow the car to "drift" once sideways. GT physics don't lie. ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_jbCB4MPAA

Staying on topic, I'm going to Meijer and getting my copy at midnight, if I don't get it from Amazon before that. Then I will return one copy, hopefully. I'd rather end up with 2 than 1. :)
 
Just Rang ASDA (UK Version Of Wallmart) They maybe doing a Midnight Launch but won't know till Monday

They did however say if they don't do a Lauch they maybe leaving Copies of the Game at the Customer Services Desk after Midnight as there Open 24 hours :D

Store was in Gloucester / England / UK

I'm going to Call them Back on Monday so i'll Update this as soon as I know :)
 
Don't know if this is already posted but just come back from Touchwood in Solihull who have a sign in their shop window stating that there is going to be a midnight launch and the doors will be open at 11pm Tuesday night...HAPPY DAYS
 
I went into my local HMV today, the guy behind the counter wasn't expecting to have a midnight launch & didn't know anything about the alleged F1 2010 trade in offer - They hadn't received the game yet & he wasn't even that confident the game would be out on Wed :scared:

I rang my local 24 hour Tesco Uber-Market afterwards & the guy there said I would be able to buy a copy of the game at 0000 on Wednesday, no problem at all. 👍
 
Called my local gamestop in Ohio and the guy was very positive about the chance of a midnight opening or at minimum an early opening on the 24th depending on how many reserve copies they actually get. Since I paid in cash maybe I can somehow bribe them to finish the preorder later and hand me the game early.
 
I'm going to call my local Game Stop today and see if I can get them to give me a copy today. Although I'm not sure which angle I should take... :D
