Just take your time and be careful, never pressure yourself to drive faster than comfortable otherwise you'll end up making mistakes and spend twice as long redoing the license.
Patience is key, be smooth and take it easy in the lower gears.

Another random write-up from me.
Here's a lesson for you all... just because a certain photo requires you have a certain car doesn't mean that car is going to be great to use for races. Examples:
• Hummer H3 - did pretty well in pack racing in the B4 Championship, failed badly in the Time races.
• Chevrolet Corvette C1 - needed for a Photographer viewpoint, TERRIBLE handling and slow compared to the Ferrari 308 (a much better car).
• Mercedes-Benz ML63(?) - nimble and fairly good, but not powerful and capable enough.
One picture in Ibiza requires the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. So I'm sure I'd bomb races with the Ferrari F430 Scuderia if I had tried. I'm actually trying to get enough money to buy another house. What I might start doing is re-do championships I already cleared just to win more money. My usual mindset is that I shouldn't have to do something in the game again unless there are some more secrets to uncover or any extra objectives to clear. When you're done with a championship race, why do it again if you got what you wanted- a championship win? And if you're not required to race a championship again and again, why go back? However, I kind of have a Gran Turismo mentality here in which I feel I may have to run and re-run championships just to boost money.
I know I wanted to save money to get another house. Unfortunately, I bought another car by selling one of my others. I traded my ML63 for the Audi Q7. I'll now have to basically win a championship or two to rebuild my finances. My skills at applying stickers is getting better. So with my Q7, I got it in a silver color and put on some red stickers.
I had fun last night with a few players in TDU2. We were all part of this little clique driving around Ibiza. We were also exchanging voice chats. I met this one guy at the Spyker/Koenigsegg/Bugatti showroom in Ibiza, and I kind of intercepted his conversation with someone. After that, we all got along and started enjoying a little drive around Ibiza. It was SO cool!

I began the Ibiza Cup last night. As a result, I felt sad that I had to have certain cars again. You HAVE to win every race to advance to the next set event. I had the pink Miami Mustang before I decided to reunite with the Lancia Delta I had previously. Best decision of my life in the game since trading my Hummer H3 for the Range Rover. Then sadly, I had to reunite with the Alfa Romeo Brera Independent. There was a reason why I parted ways with that damned car- SLOW! It was the most capable A7 car, but (and by the way- I upgraded the heck out of that car taking it to the Italian Tuner in Ibiza) I hate that I had to have this car just to compete and complete the Ibiza Cup.
Now, I have a new dilemma. I traded my Range Rover for the Volkswagen Touareg. I am trying to upgrade the Touareg to be more competitive with that one Time Trial. I always seem to screw up in the later portions of the event to where I would be ahead by four seconds, then trail by at least one second of the best time. You can't be too close to the stone ruin walls because you may catch a part of the wall that will take out your truck and ruin your lap time substantially. The best news of all- win the Ibiza Area 1 cup, and you get one million dollars. But again, you have to win EVERY race to advance to the next.
I needed a new house, so I bought that two-car house in Ibiza Area 2 in that rocky, desert setting. That's now five houses and 10 cars at present for me. I may exchange my four-car house around the Ibiza airport for that Eivissa House when I do eventually win the Ibiza Cup. I'm not going to blow all of my money on a car when I do hit seven figures in TDU2. I may just try to get two houses in Hawaii Area 2 and Hawaii Area 3. And if I have enough leftover money, I may look for a few more cars.
One last update, I found all ten wrecks in Hawaii Area 3. That's enough to get my Jaguar D-Type. I painted it up to be classic. Only thing modern about my design is the Sapphire Blue metallic color I painted it. Also put on some circles and put in my traditional racing number (25) on the sides of the car and towards the front. This is basically a race car, so I won't be doing any Co-Driving invites with this car.

I went for another ride in another Bugatti Veyron. Not sure if the guy actually wanted to offer me a ride, but I took the bait. I guess I've noticed that more Veyron drivers tend to go with the 16.4 model rather than the Grand Sport. The only way I can tell is that the 16.4 is the two-tone Veyron. While a two-tone car is more interesting than a plain one-color car, I'm surprised not as many Veyron folks have the Grand Sport.
Needless to say, I'm thinking about more cars I want to add to my collection. My history with American cars is not very good in TDU2. My Hummer H3 was a piece of crap in the B4 championship. I had the A6-class Camaro until I sold it to have my Subaru Impreza as my A6 car. There is one American car I'm considering for the A5 class- the Dodge Charger SRT-8. I am actually torn between this and an A5-class Audi whose name fails me at this moment. I am now thinking of cars to fill my A5 through A2 needs. I am also wondering if a Koenigsegg CCXR could be my true flagship car of my collection. The CCXR is more expensive than the Veyron Grand Sport. Then again, it would be better than seeing the same old Veyron "fanboys" and "fangirls" who would even wreck a real Veyron considering their bone-headed driving ways.

I've set up my first-ever Challenge in TDU2! I made a Time challenge called "Privilege to Pacha." It's reserved for the A1 class since it's a long (under four-mile challenge) one. And, I did this to challenge the A1 drivers. As the name of the challenge goes, I've set up a course to take you from Ibiza's Privilege nightclub to Pacha Ibiza. Along the way, you must battle traffic. Time penalties are added for going off-course or hitting other cars. This is a handling course rather than an all-out speed battle. Also to tick off the big name drivers, the fee is $10K, and the winner gets $20K. So if you're on... try it out! ^_^

Actually, I don't think you can re-do championships, per se. Any championships you've completed can have certain rounds re-done. That's what I've been able to think of at least.
I have also realized that you don't have to get any prize cars right away if you find all the wrecks or beat a duel opponent. I'm still saving up money to get some more houses. For now, I'm sticking to two-car houses until I can save up for decent four-car houses. I still want the Eivissa House in Ibiza Area 2 to be my first six-car house after I win the Ibiza Cup. Speaking of which... I traded in my Touareg for the Range Rover. Despite the fact it has a slower top speed than the Touareg, and despite the fact the Touareg is a bit more agile, the Range Rover Sport HSE is a solid off-roader. I dominated the B4 championships with the Range Rover. If a car served you well in one championship, why try something different for when you do Cup racing in TDU2? And I only need this for one race. I'll still hold onto it just to get that "One of Each" trophy (or whatever it's called) for having one car from every class (A7 through A1, B4, B3, C4, and C3).

I did it! I won the Ibiza Cup! I wanted to do the final event all in one play-through. My time around that massive 70+ mile course around Ibiza was 46:39.620, and the good thing is that there are no time penalties despite the fact there is traffic on the road. As long as you have a competitive car and don't drive like an idiot, this should be fairly easy to win despite its gargantuan length. This was the first-ever time I led by anything north of a minute at any time in any race. The event could have been much tougher, but thankfully, it isn't!
For my efforts, I won my first-ever prize car: the Lotus Evora Solar Crown. I also got me the Eivissa House as I had always wanted. I learned that there are some furniture items you have to unlock. There's this beautiful sofa and chair that I tried to get at my new six-car house, but you have to unlock them. Part of me says that I have to complete that "own 35 pieces of furniture" task to get those extra pieces of furniture for my new home in TDU2. The Eivissa House is in a GREAT location to me. Any time you can live not far away from a Ferrari dealership and if you love cars, you're in Heaven. I exchanged one of my 2-car houses in Ibiza for a 4-car house in Hawaii. I had the house at Keola(?) Hills before I ambitiously exchanged that house for a 4-car beach stilt house in Hawaii Area 3.

The moment I had a chance to enjoy my new F430 Scuderia, two more F430s hit the road around me. One of them was a jackass in a white/blue F430 that wanted to keep ramming into me, and another was a black F430 who was... a little more civilized. Basically, this is like when I mention something on Twitter, and people all of a sudden want to tweet to me about something like spamming sons of (you know whats). Live by the sword, die by the sword; I guess.
I can really get back to buying cars since I've increased the overall capacity currently to 20 cars. Still kind of looking around for a good A4 (considering an Aston Martin) and a good A3 (considering the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti). Now if you remember, I HAD an A3 vehicle- the Caterham CSR 250, but I sold it off to have a little more money on hand.

Yeh, sometimes when I'm just fed up of GT5 though I stick TDU2 in, lately I've not been on it. However I do enjoy the game when playing but have that little reoccurring thought in my head; I wish the physics were as good as GT5 and the graphics too - speedometers are impossible to read in interior view (which also is annoying as leather looks like alcantara)
That's what sometimes puts me off - just these little things - but I still think it's a very good game.

The thing that i like over gt5 is that your always driving, you do have to stop at the homescreen. A im also a big fan of the fact that you can own a house , escape the cops and explore the two islands. And i also enjoy actually entering the dealership and opening doors and stuff. That amuses me

I really think TDU2 should allow you to go home rather than randomly save your game in some part of Ibiza or Oahu. That's the thing I loved about playing TDU1 on the PS2. You can go straight home after enjoying your time out on the road. Also speaking of home, I wish you could modify more parts of your home and even your garage. Also wish you could actually USE certain things in your house (like the chairs and stuff) rather than just have everything basically for decoration.
For some cars that don't allow you to paint cars (like any Ferrari), some people have found creative ways around them. One person who I hung out with in TDU2 put on some big stickers to paint a car a certain color. Only disadvantage is that you don't get to colorize cars with a certain finish. Like you don't get to enjoy the different paint styles and even the bi-color deal.

Same for me. I picked the game up in March or April, played it for a couple weeks, didn't touch it again until last week. Finally did enough to get to Hawaii, but then got bored again. I really want to "complete" the main events. I know I'll never do everything though. But in the end, if I want to race, I'll just play GT5, Dirt 3 or F1 2010 instead.
Amazon will give you $11 for it (gotta mail it in and wait though), Gamestop 6 or 7, Best Buy will give you 6 for it (40% bonus with pre-order right now, but a pre-order is $5, bonus would be $2.40, so not worth it unless you have others.)
I don't think the value will go up though, at least as far as trade-ins go.

I guess what gets to me is just how much people think of this game as absolutely poor. I mean, I've played much worse racing games including certain low-priced titles that are unspeakably bad. TDU2 is not as bad as most people make it out to be in my view. Is it flawed? Sure. However, some tend to talk about it like "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing" is better than TDU2. I see this game more like a great title that needs mostly here-and-there tweaks to be completely solid. I would DEFINITELY modify the physics and perhaps add some extra appeal to the socializing and such.
I can honestly say that the racing/driving genre is perhaps one of the only genres in which doing things BESIDES racing/driving . Even I admit- sometimes, as much as I love racing, I want to try to do some other things in addition. I think what the Test Drive Unlimited series is doing is trying to establish not only a proper environment for racing and car collecting, but also incorporating a host of features to do away from racing. Sometimes, I think of (especially as a PS3 owner) Test Drive Unlimited 2 as PlayStation Home for car fans, only this is MUCH more fun than PS Home. You're also around other people who enjoy the same things- cars and racing. So I don't fully understand the hate for TDU2 that some people have.
I try to enjoy every game I play. Even for someone fairly new to the PS3, to online gaming, to voice chatting, and other things like that; I still enjoy the TDU2 experience. Maybe not everyone sees it the same way, but this is how I've seen the game.

I now have one car of each purchaseable class of car: A7 through A1, B4 and B3, and C4 and C3. The two latest editions to my car collection are the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe (A4) and the Ferrari California (A3). I actually took a chance on the California because I was eyeing the 612 Scaglietti all along after I had won the B3 High Championship.
Another thing, I felt dumb trading my Mercedes-Benz ML63 for the Audi Q7. After fully tuning my ML63, I nearly won every race of both the B3 and B3 High championships. I then won the duel against Chris Wilder. The thing I had feared about the Audi Q7 was why I traded for the Q7- top speed and acceleration. The Mercedes-Benz ML63 is more agile with a good amount of horsepower. Also, it's surreal to do off-road racing with the Spyker D8 Peking-to-Paris. I actually wanted to trade my Q7 for that! Unfortunately, I was about $10K short in my trade.
One last thing before I move on... I realize that there are both a sofa and a chair that have to be unlocked. I learned you have to win those items playing in the TDU2 Casino. I am going to go strictly towards racing rather than dabble around at the Casino. So I'll pass on getting those two stylish furniture pieces. Last night, I came across one guy who was Level 67- had about 60-something houses, 100+ cars, basically did and explored EVERYTHING in the game. I'm still just a Level 32 guy as of this post!
So what's up with me lately? Two things: I may consider joining a bigger club or even staring my own, and I eventually want to start raising at least two million dollars to get either a Veyron or the CCXR.
• On the club front, I am not really concerned because I don't really take part in Club activities. On another end, though, I do want to eventually get those PSN trophies for driving a club car and then all the other exclusive cars.
• I REALLY need a true flagship car in my collection. My McLaren MP4-12C was bought because I needed a competent A1 car to avoid being lunch to the Bugattis. There's the old saying- "if you can't beat them, join them." I can either be one of another bunch of people who have any Bugatti Veyron, or for about $200K more, get myself the Koenigsegg. The Veyron and CCXR are both the premier flagship cars in TDU2. More people have the Veyron because of its crazy top speed and maybe its 4WD drivetrain as well. I am often times someone who tries to be different. I know if I had the Koenigsegg CCXR going up against some Veyrons, I'd surely be different if everybody else was just in love with the Veyron. And of course, I'd paint mine up in the beautiful color of blue.

Another thing, I felt dumb trading my Mercedes-Benz ML63 for the Audi Q7. After fully tuning my ML63, I nearly won every race of both the B3 and B3 High championships. I then won the duel against Chris Wilder. The thing I had feared about the Audi Q7 was why I traded for the Q7- top speed and acceleration. The Mercedes-Benz ML63 is more agile with a good amount of horsepower. Also, it's surreal to do off-road racing with the Spyker D8 Peking-to-Paris. I actually wanted to trade my Q7 for that! Unfortunately, I was about $10K short in my trade.
One last thing before I move on... I realize that there are both a sofa and a chair that have to be unlocked. I learned you have to win those items playing in the TDU2 Casino. I am going to go strictly towards racing rather than dabble around at the Casino. So I'll pass on getting those two stylish furniture pieces. Last night, I came across one guy who was Level 67- had about 60-something houses, 100+ cars, basically did and explored EVERYTHING in the game. I'm still just a Level 32 guy as of this post!
So what's up with me lately? Two things: I may consider joining a bigger club or even staring my own, and I eventually want to start raising at least two million dollars to get either a Veyron or the CCXR.
• On the club front, I am not really concerned because I don't really take part in Club activities. On another end, though, I do want to eventually get those PSN trophies for driving a club car and then all the other exclusive cars.
• I REALLY need a true flagship car in my collection. My McLaren MP4-12C was bought because I needed a competent A1 car to avoid being lunch to the Bugattis. There's the old saying- "if you can't beat them, join them." I can either be one of another bunch of people who have any Bugatti Veyron, or for about $200K more, get myself the Koenigsegg. The Veyron and CCXR are both the premier flagship cars in TDU2. More people have the Veyron because of its crazy top speed and maybe its 4WD drivetrain as well. I am often times someone who tries to be different. I know if I had the Koenigsegg CCXR going up against some Veyrons, I'd surely be different if everybody else was just in love with the Veyron. And of course, I'd paint mine up in the beautiful color of blue.

Bought the veyron grand sport in Graphite M and light red/brown interior, Looks amazing, already 2 thousand miles on it of just cruising, such an amazing GT car.

With recent server issues, I had a chance to test drive a number of cars in the game. What really surprises me is how many of the A2 and A1 cars that top out at about 204 mph. Even the Enzo, which is capable of about 253 mph in real life, tops out about 204 mph. And of course, Ferraris can't be tuned in TDU2. So it would be pointless to trade for a car you can't tune that has the same top speed as a car you're already using. Scratch the Enzo off the list unless you're trying to get that PSN Trophy for having all purchaseable cars. I find it disappointing some cars don't go super-fast unless you get a very good A1 car. Almost as if you want to go into the well-over-225 (MPH) club, almost as if you need a Veyron or a CCXR. If you think it's foreign to have so little money and simply get a car based on cars you already have, look at it this way- when I got my McLaren F1 GT or McLaren F1 LM in TDU1, I traded a bunch of cars to eventually get that McLaren F1. Having enough money while also trading away cars can help towards getting more expensive cars. Too bad the McLaren F1 is not in TDU2...
Other cars I've tested out... The 599 GTO and 458 Italia sounds great. I think the 458 Italia is slightly faster or quicker than the F430 Scuderia. Another nice-sounding car is the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. I almost wanted to trade my F430 Scuderia for the Ruf RTurbo. Either that, or trade my McLaren MP4-12C for the Ruf RT... that A1-class Ruf.
The Ferrari California is one of only two roadsters or convertibles I have. The California is my only convertible so far. It has a great engine sound! It also has some very good handling. It helps to be a potent front-engine/RWD car like the California.
