Are you sick of seasonal events

Personally I am sick of the race setups in seasonal events. How you start the race half a kilometer behind the leader and its a rolling start. How is that similar to any race in the world

I just wish they had more drift seasonals.

But, yeah, the current set up is a bit... redundant.

It doesn't though....bar one make events, because of the lack of restrictions on tyres and because you can set your HP/PP higher, the races can often be won on pure power, it just takes a lap or two more than, say, A-Spec normal...

I am sure there would be more complaints if you're all at standing start only to wizz pass the whole field with a dive bomb on the first corner, then have the rest of the race driving a lone.

Sure it is up to the driver to have a setup similar to the AI and to drive in a professional manner but hardly anyone would but they will still get bored and complain. In the way seasonals are now you have a goal, catch up and win which depending on setup can be easy or hard.

Seasonals I find a bit stale if i'm totally frank, bar the expert events. I think most of us would agree they lack any variety whatsoever, however if A-Spec was more worthwhile and had numerous more events it wouldn't be as bad. I mainly grind the same ones for helmets and other gears, or to refresh the UCD.

As has already been mentioned you can simply out power every other car, bump your way to victory, cut chicanes (yes you la sarthe) and the like. The imposed rules need to be much more concise because if your even remotely decent at the game you can complete most events first time the aforementioned way. This isn't a whinge, it would simply be nice to see some flair in the events and a greater mix up of challenges, such as rally events, that are at the moment fundamentally downplayed.

I like the seasonal events, but I would hope they could do something a little more exciting to change it up a bit.

Starting far behind and then having to just catch a field of stupidly slow drivers on a bunch of tracks gets quite boring, its not racing its more like driving around mobile chicanes.

I have enjoyed them, but I would much prefer something along the lines of the games Special Events, which are the games only truly challenging events.

This, the first 2-3 of expert seasonals were more challenging than anything in the game minus the redbull x1 challenge and golding the "special events"

I think the seasonals are as close as we are going to get to new A-Spec events, at least in the forseeable future. While I have enjoyed the seasonal events, I would rather see those resources applied to getting new cars, such as the SLR McLaren 722 GT and FXX, and new tracks, such as Brands Hatch and an updated Midfield.

Who are you to represent the whole GT5 community? Not everyone wants to come home from a long day at work/school to find out that in order to make decent money, they must drive like a "pRo GaMeR".

As for seasonals: I wish they put up some more Ferrari F1 races and LMP races, but I'm fine as-is. The setup, though, is a bit on the "WTF" side.

It's not the easy money. It's the racing and the feel of seasonals. The driving is to stale and mundane and boring. Start from the back and drive even moderately fast to get to the front. I want to battle with the AI not drive around them. If you want to test how fast we can drive add some more time trials with harder goals.
The seasonals themselves feel like a checklist, theres no progression, no real goal for completing them. They should have longer races, in championship mode, with tight tinkering options and that would add all the fun.
I love the driving, but I also love racing.

I agree that there could be more variety. Seasonals do feel very same-same

Personally I'd like some longer races, 15-20mins. If PD did it (right) so that players are limited to a select few cars to chose from, tyre and PP limits so that the resulting race is a good challenge. It could be really good.

Seasonal events take a snail and put it half a lap ahead and say "ok go catch the snail". It would be more fun to have a bunch of fast cars around you to actually race against, rather than chasing down slow cars who just get put way infront of you.

In the recent FGT seasonal races I was lapping the AI cars. Where is the challenge in that?

Yes because they make no sense. Why are Sarthe, Indianapolis, and Eiger in a DTM scenario? Honestly make it something like: Nurb Full circuit, Nurb D, circuito de Madrid, trial mountain, deep forest etc...

Yeah well have you ever watched a real race were they start on grid. Every seasonal event is the same, you start for the back and there's no competition (which is good thing for you I quessing).

I believe that the seasonals are set up the way they are now so that a wide variety of people will be at the very least satisfied with it. The people that want to skid around like a jerk and ram the AI can do that and the people who want to have a very close race from start to finish can do that too. It's all in how you choose to prepare for the event.

Race too hard? Change to softer tires, add power, raise aero...

Race too easy? Change to harder tires, use the power limiter, lower aero, add ballast...

You have options folks. Personally, I like to look at the competition and then choose a car that I think *might* be able to get in the top 5 if I drive phenomenally well. I use whatever tires the competition is using. I start racing with this baseline car and incrementally tune the quirks out of the car and slowly add power until I can get first place while requiring excellent, consistent driving to do it. You get more value out of each seasonal event this way instead of blowing through the whole thing in an hour and then going online to complain about it.

Totally agree with Slowman, you make these events as hard or easy as you want, only issue is PD now seem to have fixed lineups putting the fastest cars at the front, so it quickly becomes three clumps of cars. I prefer the chaos of a mixed up starting lineup

You still don't get it. Even if you run a slower car, you're still chasing down much slower cars, you're just catching them slower. If you want real racing you need to have AI cars that are atleast lapping within 1-2 seconds of your pace, that means that if you started the race 20 seconds behind (the rough average) you would still be 15 seconds behind after 5 laps while lapping 1 second faster than the AI.

It still isnt racing because the slower car would have won, only because the start car had a 20 second lead in a 5 lap race. So in order to win this race you need to have a car that can go 4 seconds a lap faster than the AI, meaning in order to win you have to be much faster than the AI. If you started lined up on a grid at the back, vs cars that are similar pace, then you have a race.

The seasonals so far have just been chasing down slow cars that start with a massive lead, and that is what gets boring.

The racing you want is found online. The payouts aren't as good, but the racing is much better than the AI once you find a fun group to race with.

I race stock cars with one higher tire than the rest of the field. If i win its usually on the last turn or well into the fith lap. It is what you make it.
