I was joking ffs hence the winky wink and the smiley.

I know, but it still brings the subject up (yet again)... and it just isn't funny any more. It's dull.

For me, all the arguing and fighting that has been taking place here recently is getting so off-putting that I barely even bother to comment on anything any more. I just skip more and more of the forum posts and then log off because the vibe has gone downhill so badly.

P.S. To be clear, I'm not pointing the finger at you with my comments, but there are some 'serial offenders' here that seem to get off on being pedantic and grumpy about every little thing that I certainly can live without having in my brain.

What I want to know is, why do humans seem to have so much trouble getting along these days, even when 'sharing' a common interest that's meant to be fun?

Some more exciting mod news this week, not everyone might have seen as all posted on Facebook.

Pessio is making excellent progress with his Capri RS and its already an amazing level of quality.

its is not working cause you have different tracknames,.. one is with capitals and the other is not,... so be aware of that when people wanna download and are not getting it to work!!

cheers!

Thanks for the feedback... in my own way of upkeeping with effective game-maintenance (naming conventions and character limits), I may have decapitalised the track folder name, but it remains same... It shouldn't have any adverse effect, regardless... But if you do, do the same for your track-folder name or the other way around... Enjoy.

was this issue with the shaded out head and tail lights solved by any chance? I seem to recall it being mentioned previously..

I must need glasses because I stared at that picture for so long and couldn't see any problem, but I think what you are showing is the issue with having 'Use shading multisampling' ticked in Reflections FX. Disable that if so.

Woops! Sorry I uploaded the wrong image. I did place arrows to point out the problem areas. The right side tail and head lights have missing proper textures and effects. Are just shaded out with plain textures.

So you reckon disable that setting should fix that yes?

I had same issue previously and that fixed it for me :)

I'm not being an arse (cause I love Pessio's work), but another Capri RS ? it's what, the third now ? We're still missing some banging cars (911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1, Alfetta GTV Turbo Gr5, Opel Commodore Gr5 wink wink ) and we're gonna get another Capri. Ah. Doesn't matter anyway.

Still looks like an absolute monster job this one.

For me 0.99c behaves better and more accurate. It is more predictable and responsive. 0.99d does not respond immediate to braking and turning commands.

Sadly I do not know how to record a video. Just try this:

Load Feldbergring. Car should have default setup. Try to turn through turn 1 and next section through the buildings.

You will notice the difference immediately.

Personally I am using 0.99c again.

ok I had a look...

99d is only "off" in its default config.
The 99c default can be reached easily within the setting ranges.
99d default has a slightly lower ride height (by 1cm) and softer dampers. The actual suspension, handling and feel are the same when 99d is adjusted to achieve the 99c default.

I can agree that it feels different, the rake affects handling alot, as does the wing setting at moderate speeds...
You can do a file "diff" and see if I am wrong in this assessment please. (a setup config for 99c should create the same setup for 99d)

note: most of this fiddling was to prevent people using excessively low (unrealistic) ride heights, however I could set that limit in car.ini

the brakes were lowered in torque slightly (1600 vs 1700) due to me thinking it locks up way too easy at 1700nm

I get what your saying but I always welcome a fresh from scratch job, kind of like what he did with the Mini's. There was a few floating about the time, then I think his last release is just about as perfect a model you can get in Assetto. With Pessio he works that fast it won't be that long and we will have something different anyway lol

To be fair though the Capri in ACL pack for a old convert was a very good revamp of that old model, there was a huge improvement in the latest update compared to the original release and them physics are spot on amazing. My main excitement for the Capri is that Pessio usually works with a sound guy and hearing a proper V6 with his level quality of model is me itching to get it in my game :)

At end of the day I guess there is a lot of time put in building from scratch, whatever is motivating them at that moment to finish gets done. Saying that I would welcome a GTV or Opel any day of the week.

Talking of which, I hope DRM team still motivated to make more cars for their pack, would love more for the smaller division and that Alfa you suggested would fit right in with the Escort and BMW's.

I can tell you zolder and Paul Ricard are in the works... Still a ways off... I will personally tackle hungaroring at some point... Though for a week or 2...im actually just gonna do some driving... If that's OK with you guys I have a crap ton of cars to catch up on from here

News?

I think I'd always prefer modders to work on personal passion projects rather than just to fill a gap in the roster.

Don't use MIN_HEIGHT= it buggers the physics.

Use as little range as possible with ride height and spring rates to avoid having a setup going too low.
Perhaps have the collider tend to hit the ground when using full soft springs with minimum ride height.

I'm guessing high downforce cars, which this is not, have a minimum allowable ride height lest the team installs one tonne springs and runs the car at the ideal height for the diffusor.
With setup.ini we restrict the highest spring that could be used anyway so no need for the rule.

That did the trick thanks!

This new Imola track is awesome! It brings back GP4 vibes... I thought I'd do some laps around here and try to beat the real pole lap with the F2002 ;)

I knew I should have kept the grass slightly darker, but it was quite light in photos and vids.
Nice lap and video, thanks!

That's exactly what I meant,I was thinking and waiting to see what kind of car it is. a lot of people were looking for him, he needs physical and visual rescue, but we have a nice base.
Well I did ask Chiroda's permission on Discord yesterday, the one who worked on it, and he did agree that we could perhaps improve a bunch of his other cars he lately released on Facebook and make separate fully stock variants out of them, kinda like some modders here did a long time ago I remember.
