Good evening.
Could anyone tell me how to "open" car files from the NR2003 game to try to adapt the Nascar "skins" (1964/1969/1970).

I was able to download some (already opened)...others come with the "complete carset" but I don't know the procedure to try to open them.
I'm not 100% sure if you're looking for the 3D models or the skins themselves... but for the skins you have to go to the NR2003 Opponent Manager and for each car you want the skins click the 'Export' button and it will save a *.tga file in the x:/Papyrus/NR2003/Exports folder.

For the 3D models, I can't remember because I haven't messed with the 3D models in almost 20 years but IIRC you need an editor like 3DSimEd.
 
Hi guys need a little help with pit crew visibility. They're not appearing in any mode. I looked at the track adjustment options. I have hide crew in track day mode unticked but they don't show up in trackdayys and also don't show up in any other modes either. Whether I have this option ticked or not, there's no difference except the team logo at pit lane also doesn't load if I have the option ON. In CM Showroom they appear fine.
Can someone figure out what is going on?Are

Could it be your Assetto Corsa video settings? World quality settings needs to be set on maximum.

(yes, the PPFs I tried included PureHDR).

Power of the Sun I believe is a feature of the PPF I am using (C13 AEGIS) that boosts sunlight-based contrast.




I tried one more combo tonight (Guerilla GT4s at shin's Tokachi) and while the issue is present in this Tokachi mod, it's about 15% as noticeable. So it must indeed be some short of shader mismanagement.

I'd say it has something to do with the age of the track mod, as Piezello's tracks are from COVID and Toscana is from the stone age, but Frosty's Black Rock Motor Resort update released literally hours ago - and it might be the worst out of the three.
there is your first problem, using c13 filter lol. dont waste your money on ppfs that are inferior to Pure and free ones around.

It absolutely wasn't the problem - clearly you didn't read the discussion past this point. The very post you quoted literally says two sentences down that changing PPFs and disabling extensions did not fix the issue.



C13 is, in my opinion, the best filter out there - and is considerably closer to real life onboards in terms of color grading and clarity than PureHDR. With some tweaks, it is my filter of choice. But the core concept of post processing is, by nature, a subjective assessment. In the grand scheme of things, C13 is functionally near-identical to the stock Pure PPFs - yet I value that slight change in the final image output.


And the last time I paid into the Patreon for a new version was 1.89 - which was years ago at this point, so no idea what you're going on about with regards to wasting money.



I never understand people making such declarative statements over personal preferences that have nothing to do with objective quality whatsoever. It gives off a poor impression, sorry to say. If you don't like it, great - your input added absolutely nothing to this conversation.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with this guy "JLCJB" and his mods?





I remember trying a few years ago to figure out the deal with his Discord - and ended up just giving up, as I couldn't post or download anything once I got in.

His Val de Vienne has shown up on Breathe's list again recently, but now I can't even get into his Discord at all. All links around the internet are dead - and his Patreon has zero pictures, video or any information outside of prices (lol).

What is his deal? His tracks seem to be in a Schrodinger's state of "are/are not commercially available" - and there's no information on his tracks that I can find anywhere. I can't test any of the tracks myself either (either legitimately or "illegitimately") - there's frankly no way I'm paying $10 up front for something with literally zero information and zero indication of quality outside of a grainy 30 FPS YouTube video.

I've heard (very, very seldomly, as pretty much no one either in this thread or elsewhere has useful information) that his scratch-made esoteric French tracks are pretty good. Obviously, that's interesting to me, but past that, I have nothing.


Anyone hip, let me know if this pursuit is worth furthering, or if I should just drop it again like I did in 2022. Cheers.

I'm part of their community on discord, unfortunately i don't have time to engage with the community, so i don't have access to all their tracks. I would have love to be more active (like i try to be here) but i really don't have time (like i don't have here too).
I remember that i've helped a GTP member join their Discord few months ago (maybe a year). They are nice people btw.

I have a little request. I'm not good at making mods (and I don't know if it's the right place to talk about it), but I really dream of driving on the Springfield racetrack of the old Total Immersion Racing game (check the video). I don't konw if it could be possible to convert the TIR's one or to mod it. Thanks guys !

Go to the car skin folder and open skin.ini with notepad.
Make a backup of skin.ini (just in case).
Delete all the section named [CREW].
Go on track and check

so the crews suit is ok , but headset and sign are not (from Meccanico_Gadgets.png in the skin folder) ?
"Crew_HELMET_Color.dds" is for crew helmets and "Meccanico_Gadgets.png" for lollipops.
[CREW] section statements inside skin.ini often overrides the textures inside the skin folder.

That's way I've suggested to try deleting it

Nothing you've done, it's probably down to various CSP/Pure updates since we did the original track, but trees now look super pale and washed-out (with Pure LCS and Natural Mod PPF, anyway) so if you have the same, try adding this to the end of the config:

I use this for:
  • Shutdown all the not needed processes like all those Steam extras, unexpected virus scanning activity, windows store, web browser, win update and the not needed Svchost.exe.
  • Give priority to the game itself and lower or even idle other not important ones.
  • Make selected cores exclusively for AC only (affinity)
you have to test it if it is useful in your rig, could be it’s not effective like in Win11 there seems to be a affinity ruler been introduced. :confused: Or complete unnecessary if running a topdog like a AMD 7800X3D
My 2019 i9-9900KS 5,2Ghz OC, 50% of the total 8cores+8HT are now exclusive for AC and I do see a lowering of max load per core.
Also the CPU Frame times on my PC shows not that impressive improving, but it’s more consistent and personally i think in VR, lowering fluctuations is more important than a high FPS. In other words I prefer 60fps straight more then 90fps but also fluctuating. Now on the other hand if you see one or two cores is sometimes reaching 90% (be aware you can not detect the quick100% peaks) think this is the solution to reduce.
Note: Later I will publish here some other free software so you have a choice.

"Old Boomer" eh?. Well I'm 57 myself, so we're both in the same boat I guess.

To answer your question; This app/soft has the ability in changing affinity to programs (like AC for instance).
(Windows can do the same in fact in taskmanager, but....will not retain your settings after a reboot...)

I'm playing with the settings myself (Adding a rule to acs.exe; affinity above normal, high, assigning PC cores, etc.).
Increasing affinity should not be the best to do, so I read somewhere, but assigning PC cores (and eliminating HT (Hyper-Treading) might well be.

I'm on 4K (2160p) with addition of 2x SGSSAA (Yeah, I know, has some (slight) impact on VRAM performance, but...jaggies now all REALLY gone!) and I need as much resources I can lay my hands on with say ~+25 car AI.

Still to find out my "best" settings. Maybe there will be none in the end that will be better than the default, however playing around in order to (hopefully) achieve (even better) results might be something worthwile and to explore. One never knows, eh.

Tried Process Lasso earlier. More complicated to my liking (Old Boomer here too as I mentioned).
(And for what it matters, I drive with a....joystick.... :-). I too have flight simulators taking care of you must know.

May I kindly ask you how you set the Antialiasing parameters in nvidia profile inspector? I still haven't managed to solve those annoying effects (I don't know how to explain them, I only know that they bother the eyes) on the guardrails and the shadows in the distance, as if they were the shadow lines in many tiny pieces then little by little I get closer and closer until they become a single shadow.

There is a new version of Tokachi on Breathe's list - by the main 3D model author of shin's version, BLUED_WORKS (his Twitter and GDrive are in Japanese).

The pulled version formerly linked above was by @shi - and this new version looks to be from the same base. I assume these circumstances are related.


Wondering if the old delisted one is worth holding onto. Hopefully this gets cleared up in due time.

Looks very promising. Looking forward to the next updates, especially since CHQ never really finished his version, afaik at least.

Apparently so. The previous version had push to pass but I didn't know how to do it either. I had a P2P indicator in my HUD showing 10 but didn't know how to use it. This one is called an Overtake system on the new car.
