Aviano was my first experimental job, and I've always wanted to be a florist, so it's fine. I'll fix it and update it, no worries. I'm starting to get tired of all those flowers, too... 😅

As for the flags, I haven't touched them, 🙄 so could it be a problem with the original track? Are you using the ClimaxF1 skin?

Unfortunately, I'd like to hear from more experienced users if it's possible to replace a texture in the kn5 file with one of my own using a single line of code in ext_config, which I'll place in a track folder.
Unfortunately, the color of the grass FX is generated based on the texture of the underlying terrain, and often takes on that jarring "brownish" tone. So, I have terrain textures that are perfect for creating beautiful green lawns, but I don't know how to replace them. :(
Sounds like you want to use the Shader Replacement feature in ext_config. Instructions here. Slightly more than one line (but not much), and you place the texture in the same extension folder as the ext_config.ini

Jokes aside, unfortunately, there's a terrain mesh that passes under that area. I can't place spectators wherever I want, but since it's a random respawn, it can happen.
This should be resolved (I hope) by decreasing this specific Elements value in the layout's data folder, opening the camera facing file for this mesh:

decrease value to 800 and try

For future updates I will follow the advice, I find those textures much better aesthetically than the standard ones (by the way they also have different names), but what you say is right. 😉👍
Instead of using the terrain or spectator seat mesh directly, you should create a separate mesh for the spectators.
Open Track in Blender (or any 3D software),
and use the Knife tool, Loop Cut, and Vertex Slide to edit and separate the mesh.
Make sure that it does not overlap with walls or other objects.

In the case of spectator seats, reduce the mesh slightly so that the spectators do not protrude from their seats.

Simply reducing the ELEMENTS value will not solve the problem fundamentally.

I remember that floating grass and @slider666 having fixed that a whole while ago...
I noticed that several files in my track folder are newer than the download from Legion, so I'll post the corrected version (including a config) that should take care of the issue:

Well, you can piont it to any folder. In the case of using skins/default if it cant find the texture.dds it simply wont be applied

Hi Manuel, I downloaded and checked the track in question, I have to say that it was already very well made and also had Rain Fx, Spectators etc, so there was really little that could be done to improve it, however I modified the grass textures and desaturated the vegetation a bit. ;)

Please don't take into account the colors, brightness, etc. These are quick photos, with hardly any adjustments to the settings in the photo app...

That's the "original" (Aviano by Patrickpat, V1.0, with "16k Terrain" and "Aviano re-texture" skins enabled). The flags are in place and constantly waving.

As I said, the asphalt and the vegetation (apart from the crowded wildflowers in first view) looks in general much better and more natural with the addition of the extension. However, the flags appear out of place, although by deleting this part of the code...

... the flags return to their correct location.

I would dare to suggest that removing the code on the flags and matching the original grass texture (which is not bad at all and blends well with the edge of the asphalt) so that the tones match the more distant vegetation (which already looks incredible with the extension) would be enough... or at least, to my taste. Some times, less is more.

Have tried, at best i can find an great video showcasing the interior for their '98 car (here) that i'm also planning on commissioning after the 97' car. But from the various images i have seen on racingsportscars.com it looks different, Mainly that they have an firewall inside of the car behind the driver to protect them from what i can only assume is the moved fuel tank.

So far i have only found images of their World Challenge car, Which i also want to do :lol: but no images of the GT2 car so far.

Hi Everyone. Got something that i need to ask for help.

I'm planning on commissioning an 3D artist to make this car for Assetto Corsa available at an actually decent quality. Just an large issue i have ran into is the fact that finding interior pictures that isn't from the road car seems to be completely impossible. At least for me uneducated google search brain. Though i'd ask in here if someone happens to have literally any images be it low, medium or high quality images. Feel like asking in here regarding this is fine as it's still AC related :lol:

Actually an big update to this found an facebook collection of images of said car thanks to an guy on twitter and as such, The car will begin work!

But as usual, if anyone happens to have any more images of the GT2 car please send DM's. Hell if you happen to know the current owner that is supposedly residing in the US of A lmk, We'd love to get in touch with him and potentially get even more high quality images of said car etc.

One of my all-time favorite racetracks, "Horsma Raceway," with its smooth flow and great curves, deserves some polish. It's truly great to drive and never boring in any of its layouts.
I just played it today for the first time because I love a track that flows well and with your description I put some 90's BTCCs on it and had an absolute blast. I agree that this track deserves some love and updates. I know there are endless tracks out there that I don't know about that I'd love to put the BTCCs on. I just need to find them

With the hot summer i was away from AC. What's changed in the GrassFX settings lately? With an old CSP preview i use for development the grass looks like this

With the new one the 0.2.11 which is available for free is like this (under the sun is even worse, it looks like contamined by plutonium).

Thanks Shi, much appreciated from a master like you, I know little about Blender but I know it's quite difficult, I'll try when I have time to delve deeper and make attempts. ;)
 
It's a shame that RSS have such a hard-on for these modern formula cars when there are so many older analogue touring cars to pull from, cars that are always far more involving and rewarding to drive than these soulless digital rocketships.
if people would actually support those releases, more would come. all of their vintage stuff is their lowest sellers.

Why shouldn't we use pure black?

Some folks say there's no perfect all-light absorbing black in nature and that's 0,0,0.
I must have read it somewhere million years ago but I saw few skinners mentioning this on OT in the past years.
My idea is that the body materials might have a role in this too, but I really want to be slapped hard in the face by someone with more knowledge.
 
I don't find the previous message to replay about thee issues with car previews not updating after pressing "Update previews".
You have the option enabled

You have 3 options to fix the issue:
- disable the first option (red arrow)
or
- select in file name: preview.png
or
- goto the skin folder and delete the preview.png file

Quick question:

Does the 964 RSR project is really dead? I'm expecting for months any news about it but nothing....

Yes and no really. The car and over 100 race event specific skins are ready. Sadly we do not find the needed time to give the car physics the needed finishing touches. It is a real shame but I understand, that we all have our everyday life which can leave us next to zero space for such a project. For me it is certainly the case at the moment and I know that the other team members have very little time as well. I personally keep my fingers crossed, that we can finish the car.
 
Is anyone aware of a track mod for Bedford Autodrome?
Making plans for a full day event at PalmerSport and it'd be good to get some virtual laps in beforehand.
Only ever seen it in rFactor 1 many moons ago. Nice track though. Its possibly in rF2 but not sure.

Agreed! Horsma is a fantastic track, it has superb AI for offline racing with TCR type cars, big fields are handled well and the different layouts add more unique experiences. Big fun.

It's a fun little track that absolutely looks like **** with modern CSP iterations + the tarmac is so wobbly
