At What point will you concede?

To be completely honest who's to say they can't announce it on the Monday before release? You know the whole "available tomorrow" thing.

The constant anticipation for this game over the last 2 years has been difficult to say the least!

Devoted fans will certainly buy it, but Sony will miss out on large sales since the larger buying public will have made there purchase decisions that late in the game.

They would never keep it quiet anyway, it would need to be at retailers a couple of days ahead, especialy for online ones who normaly ship on the Wedensday for a Friday launch so the game should drop through your door on day 1. (Not that they managed with Fabel 3 unfortunatly, so I'm stuck in New Vegas this weekend)

if you're implying they'll do that for this tuesday, if it really were happening we would have found some leaks as Sony really suck at keeping secrets.

End of November for me. But I think we will get the release date soon, in the next week.

Given the fact that Sony promised us we would know the release date by the end of the month and today is the end of the month, I would not be surprised if they did not get it out before Christmas. If that is the case i wonder if Jack Tretton will resign (thats what he said).

Sony said, "we expect to have a release date before the end of the month"... They didn't promise anything... Anyway, Sony promises are empty... It's hard to believe in them...

Right now I care more about the principal of them giving us a release date, than I do about what the actual date is.

I have plenty of games to keep me occupied until GT5 is here, but I just don't like the way they treat us. We're the people who buy the game at the end of the day. year. Delay.

I'm going to concede the game will be announced to come out on December 22nd, 2012, the day after the world ends. In addition, it will be included in a 2-game pack with Duke Nukem Forever.

Jay
I already believe it will be a 2011 title as much as I wish it wasn't.

I believed it would release in 2009 - I was wrong
I believed it would release mid 2010 - I was wrong
I believed it would release in the first week of Nov 2010 - I was wrong
I now believe it will be released in 2011

Hopefully my predictions follow tradition and I am wrong again.

LOL! Wasn't there an occasion where Kaz 'laughed at the suggestion of a 2010 release date' and followed up by saying 'It'll be coming much sooner than you think'?! He must have thought we were expecting it after the Olypmics!

Anyway, my point is; this is why we're getting a bit pissed-off! We were quite reasonable in our assumption that Gran Turismo was going to be released, actually, early-to-mid 2009! At various stages, we have been led to believe it was an approaching date, then let down. Even 'official' release dates don't seem to be enough; forgive me for drawing comparisons between a mirage in the desert and a videogame, but I'm sure that the similarities are fairly obvious by now!

We're passionate about Gran Turismo, and now known in the rest of the gaming community as 'long-suffering fans of GT'; and for good reason! Give us a bit of respect, and actually hold to a date (even if it's the announcement of another date) for goodness' sake!

Of course, I don't intend to 'concede', as I've got other games, a job and real-world stuff to keep me occupied; but it doesn't stop this getting a bit annoying now. Come on SONY, pull it together.

i give up with gt5 after seening this

nothing about gt5 new release date

Forgive me for saying but why on earth would you expect GT5 to be released this week because that link you provided is for the new releases this week!

Im still 99.9% certain GT5 will be released before xmas. The simple reason is because it will be disastrous for Sony not to make the most of the Xmas sales.

Nice comments there, it's like every one is about GT5...

And i think i'll lose my hope for 2010 release in about 4 weeks from now. Latest date when they could relese it to get some sales for Xmas is december 14 - 17.
Minus 3 - 4 weeks before, release date must be announced, so i'll give up by novemeber 26.

There's always next Xmas... /sarcasm

So not a hundred percent then, Ivor?! :)

What makes me laugh, or I should say cry, is I bought my PS3/G25/Wheelstand Pro only for GT5. The 3yr extended warrantly on my PS3 has now expired and my G25 is still brand new and yet 18months old!

I don't think I could stand a release date being 2011 because my Forza friends will rip me to shreads!

OMG can you believe it, it would have been out in America tomorow. Im feeling sooooo angry, SEMA had better be the day we get a release date.

im gving it till i get bored with with wrc and f1. which is by the end of tonight... if no info by the end of the week then ill concede

He didn't laugh at the suggestion of a 2010 release, he laughed at the suggestion it was two years away, which would make it Oct 2010, which we flew past anyway.

Its too late for the holiday season. If and when they give a date it will be about 6 weeks before release so that the word gets out to everyone. not 2 weeks in advance. they are not going to release a week or 2 before christmas either that is too late for holiday sales most people have their holiday shopping done before then. My best bet is March 2011
