I would rather tell everyone I know that this game is not coming until next year and be wrong then to say it was coming this year and get your hopes up only to dissapoint you by not delivering. Sony's flagship title has only one commercial We Love Cars which doesn't even air except in Japan.

Great Marketing Sony:tdown:

Nevaaaaaaaaaaaah !!

I agree, I will get the game whenever it comes out - I have been waiting what - 4 years now? I cant even remember, I do remember I sold my xbox to get the PS3 when it was rumored GT5 would be out soon, I think it was mid 2007.

However, if it gets bumped to next year I will be selling the ps3 and purchasing an xbox and Forza 3 as a stop gap.

you are a gt5 fan. you might as well keep the ps3 and get an xbox w/forza. when gt does release you will get another ps3 anyways. me, i am too loyal to playstation (unfortunately). i will never switch over nor go both platforms. i don't care much for the xbox controller. for me sony has a comfortable fit and has kept it consistent with all their ps models. irrelevant to topic though. just my two cents.

If it's any consolation, the lack of information isn't down to a lack of interest!

The PS EU Blog getting hammered, with such wide-spread dissatisifaction that a GT5 comment had already been posted in a totally unrelated Singstar blog, less than half an hour after being published. Other blogs have tried to get on with business, but the comments are all GT5; http://twitter.com/PlayStationEU

Poor old Rey Gutierrez, the "Social Media Specialist" (a cooler-sounding job-title, than what actually appears to be, "SONY blogger"), is taking a HUGE battering from a swarm of 'GT5 fury'. I'm talking 90% GT5 rage response, here; http://blog.us.playstation.com/author/rgutierrez/

James Gallagher, the "Blog Manager", responded to one comment at the end of his "Blog Re-Cap" with the unsurprising "soon" word being tossed-in, before locking himself in the basement. He also tried to get a FIFA Q&A going, but last time I checked, that was being overrun by GT5 as well; (in fairness, I suspect that these guys are just a face, and not actually much more clued-in than we are); http://blog.eu.playstation.com/ - This is more or less what's going-on in the first link, as well...

Who knows, with all this anger flowing into cyber-space, the powers-that-be might well sit-up, take notice and DO SOMETHING other than stonewalling, of course!

EDIT: I can't say I'm 100% behind these guys, but this situation is unacceptable; I just wish so many of them wouldn't be so rude (although, one has to enquire on how polite it is to mess people about for, what is approaching, two-years now)!

If it does'nt get released this christmas, it will probably be next christmas. And we'll have 1000 premiums.

you bring up something interesting. what if they're delaying the game because of all of us that whined out standard cars to make us no longer care about it for the time being? If so, it's working. At one point I wanted them to take more time to finish the standards but now I don't care, I just want to play the game

The only reason I would accept for GT5 to arrive in 2011 would be for all cars to be Premium, and Bikes to be implemented.

That won't happen, therefore the game will release later this month.

Im not sure if this is worth mentioning but I was having a chat with a Game employee who said the reason for the delay is nothing to do with production issues or the fact that the PS3 has been hacked. Allegedly he was told by a Sony rep last week that the delay is due to a problem with the 3D aspect of GT5. Now personally I don't trust this Game employee because to be honest he is a total muppet and I cannot stand the bloke.

I must admit though if the delay of GT5 is because of the reasons stated on this website then surely a date would of been announced by now. The more I think about the more nervous I become because what if the real reason for the delay is because of a serious development problem with GT5. Do you think Sony would admit to this because it could seriously harm sales. I do fear that we might of been told a few porkies by Sony!

I will add this is all based on my own theory and have no proof whatsoever to back this up. However as each day passes I become more alarmed about the real reason why GT5 has been delayed!

I wish I was as positive as you.

Now Iam more realistic and sees that they won't release the game until next christmass. Maybe.

Spring 2011. After seeing some of the videos with the bugs/glitches I kinda hope it doesn't launch this year because if it does and it has some bad bugs then there will be some big fights on here w/ people blaming the complainers for making PD release the game before they were ready!

Before they were ready? I believe Kaz said. "GT5 is basically done"

I think the worrying thing is we really don't know the reason for the delay. There's been plenty of rumours and conjecture, but there hasn't been an official statement from either Sony or PD, and we don't know for sure if the game even went "gold".

It's looking more likely that the game isn't finished and Sony execs have spent the last couple of weeks working out a way to break the bad news to everyone and set a realistic releaes date for sometime in 2011.

Hahaha if they don't release a date by tomorrow, the last nail will be in the coffin for me with Sony. No joke, ever since the Vaio  . But seriously.

They need to get something to shelves for Christmas. This will be a priority for Sony even if the game contains errors.

For people who don't know, from around early November til mid to late January more consoles and games are sold then for the entire rest of the year. Sony will not miss having GT5 out in some form or another for this period.

Does anyone find it strange there have been 0 leaks from Sony/PD? Usually in these sort of situations, some info always manages to seep out, but here nothing.

There's no information to be leaked because GT5 is a lie.

Its going to be next year for me anyway now, I have just cancelled my pre-order to get a couple of other games in.

Will still get GT5 but it will have to wait until jans/febs pay cheque.

I don't think you'll be getting it any later than the rest of us mate.
What did you order if you don't mind me asking.

dear kaz, i doubt you will be seeing this letter as you must be too busy pulling yet another release date out of your hat. i am at a point now where i dont believe anything you say and i am considering canceling my pre-order for the signature edition.
i am wondering just how you think you can justify screwing your fans over time and time again, just how little respect do you have for us, and just how stupid do you think we are, every time there is an interview with you you say the same thing, the game is done and can be released anytime, so release it already!!!!
yours and sony's credibility is by now virtually non-existend, you guys even delay the anouncement for the new date.
so quite frankly dear kaz, shove it !!!!!

Hello, kitchenboy, and welcome to GTPlanet. Please take the few extra seconds to use proper punctuation and capitalization. It really goes a long way towards keeping our forums readable. Thanks.

I might also suggest that maybe you relax a little bit. Is it truly critical to your wellbeing that this game be released by a particular date?

When it comes out, buy it (or don't) and enjoy it (or don't). But is it worth getting so angry about?

Yup relax guys.

All of you who are getting this ticked of with Kaz IMO aren't being very respectable or fair. Kaz is clearly a great and fair and honest guy doing his best to deliver a very high quality racing game, probably the highest we've seen yet.

You're going to run into complications that are just beyond your control sometimes. I'm sure they're doing their best. I actually think Kaz is very humble and has bigger headaches and troubles than he lets show.

Sure its fun to poke a stick at how long its taking and have a bit of a laugh at how ridiculous its gotten, sure everyone wants to just play it, but to have genuine aggression and anger towards the dev team and kaz is just dumb and barbaric.

Japanese culture is usually very serious about commitment and respect and KAZ knows the entire world is waiting on this.
That said sometimes you have to step back and realize its a ps3 game. I don't think you can take a ps game any more seriously than KAZ has and you guys are still whinging. If you want a less serious game look around get another one, there's tons that are out like that already.

In short I don't think hes stalling on purpose, no one is doing anything shifty, they are genuinely running into problems and working on the game.

I'm not sure what you're so worked up about. Assuming your age based on the maturity level of your post, you weren't even born when GT5 was announced.

@Snake how do you know they ran into problems and are working on the game?

mmm Well.Other devs do tend to keep their fans up to date on whats happening.but I do hope Kaz isnt thinking this right now 'my puppets,my little puppets.dance.dance.muhahahaahaa.Do you see that Sony? They suffer as they wait.Their pain quenches my thirst for pain and suffering hahahahaaa'
