...will be aired today on Speed Chanel at 12PM ET, this will be a sad race to me, since i was only 4 at the time and never saw it, just wanted to tell you guys

Actually it was originally shown last night at midnight EST, so I've seen it before.

They showed all 5 major accidents that weekend.

The start-line accident between J.J. Lehto and Pedro Lamy was quite an accident. Debris from the accident (I believe it was a wheel) injured a few spectators, as it flew over the catch-fencing. I can't remember the last time a spectator was injured in F1, but it certainly had to be long ago.

A few Minardi mechanics were hurt by Alboreto's loose wheel in the pit-lane during a stop. Despite all the chos, it's rare that anybody gets hurt in pitlane, save what happened at Zolder, in 1981 (Osella mechanic killed in pit lane).

Everything that could go wrong that weekend, went horrible. So it was a race meeting that made me wonder, "Why the hell do I watch this sport again?"

definately f1 darkest weekend ever...............i couldnt watch ayrtons final race. too overcome with emotion. id like to see the race before imola that year, ayrtons final complete race

I was watching the race on that tragic weekend, when Senna crashed like that I couldn´t believe my eyes....

It was a long and sad Sunday

I saw it too, and was crushed. All the crap that went wrong, but if you look back at it, it was because of all those things we now have safer, albeit still dangerous F1 racing, but Senna......:( He was even gonna fly an Austrian flag when he won for Ratzenberger:( (and he would've won too)

Remember a couple years ago when Micheal Schumacher ran over one of his tyre changers? I think his name was Nigel Stephanie or something

Actually I believe it originally aired in May of 1994. It first reaired whenever it is you seem to claim (:

I noticed that as well. Simple mistake. I didn't see this first time around but I'm pretty sure it was the fateful day. It has original broadcast text on the screen.

And OH MY LORD that man lost a lot of blood. Where did they declair him dead? If he lived past vehicle extraction I would be amazed.

Experts belive all vital brain functions where stopped instantly. Is heart and lungs continued to operate with the help of a life support machine for around 6 hours. They then decided he was not going to recover and turned it off. :(

Whoa, that's alot of blood and in such a short time. :scared:

It's sad man,really sad.

does anyone have a video of the crash? i just want to have a look at it. i'm not some sick person who finds this sort of thing amusing. Ayrton was one of, or not THE, greatest drivers of our time. i actually have the 1994 F1 Season Review on Duke VHS and it shows an onboard camera which ride with Senna on his "last lap", and cuts when the Williams just begins to go straight on. I can acutally get quotes from Micheal Schumacher after he won both at Imola and the World Championship in Australia. I'll post them later :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

check my other thread about senna.

I remember that day very good. In those years I was watching everything about formula one. I remember saturdaynight when we were talking about Ratzenbergers fatal crash saying imagine that happening to Ayrton. It's very strange but it was only Ayrton I thought about, not Berger, not Schumacher, nobody else. When the crash occured I thought oh my god there you have it, I was almost certain he was gone. I have seen similar accidents of Piquet and Berger at Tamburello and although they also looked bad it never crossed my mind at the time that they could have been fatal. I can't explain this.

I don't think anyone does. It was not even shown at the investigation. Some people believe that it was destroyed so as to save Frankie Williams from blame. Who knows?

Well the case came to an end a week or so ago, no-one was blamed :indiff:

Nah, you wouldn't. He was punted out of the Pacific Grand Prix at Turn 1.

Previous to that, he spun off while leading the Brazilian Grand Prix on Lap 55 (of 71).

So, he never got a Williams to the finish. Won his final two races for McLaren though (Japan, Australia, 1993).
