A great race for production cars and 2 purpose built racing cars (there, I've had my whinge)

Personally I'm rooting for the nation's cup lamborghini (assuming it enters)
Predictions?

They wouldn't be the Monaros you're referring to there, eh Glut? If so, I totally agree - how on earth they got into the Nation's Cup with the mods they're running (flared guards and the Corvette Le Mans motor?!?) is beyond me. Those cars should be running in GT Production.

The website is here.

That said - it should be a really good event. The Europeans seem to be taking it a lot more seriously this year. I'd be inclined to tip one of the fleet of GT3 Porsches, although the Monaros should certainly run well with 12 months of racing development under their belts.

Good stuff - hopefully they can keep it going.

is the mosler ccar coming back this year because i love that car.

but for a predition you cant go past the monaro. that thing is a beast.

my heart says the ferrari 360 will win but my head says the monaro. go the ferari

Yup millencolin the Mosler MT900 will be returning this year.

For all-round performance you can't go past the Monaro, eh? Although the Porsche cars might give them a run for their money.

Should be a good do. Wish I was going. Let's just hope for a good result... Unlike the Bathurst 1000... hopeless stewards...

awesome go the mosler

Heh, one of those won the British GT cup this year. Nice car that.

You know Sandarse just makes me hate GM even more than I already do with his suckyness.

Screw the purpose built race car

Read in a Motor magazine a few months ago, on registration all cars had to show the displacment of their cars, plus a host of other rules, funnily enough the Monaro didnt have to, where as the RX7's where persecuted to the point of having an official in thier pit all race

Recently on a Ch7 broadcast of the nations cup racing he said "gotta love the 6 speed sequential gearbox", also I know a production run of these cars was supposed to go ahead but never did so why is it out there at all? Every other car is (almost) how it left the factory

That car being allowed in was nothing more than a publicity stunt to get more punters to go to the event

I'll barrack for anything other than those 2 things

you gotta love the mosler
it came second to that farce of a monaro last year.

how is that thing a production car, its built by garry rogers motorsport.

that monaro should be racing in the v8supercars rather than the nations cup. i just cant wait for the brutes race before the 24hour. imangie those crazy ute drivers haulin arse around bathurst.

Yeah, the Monaro should definitely be in the GTS class at Le Mans or the ALMS...not a GT class race. You know I'll be going for the Vipers...it was a good stand to withdraw last year because of the Monaro, it's just stupid that they've included it.

The monaro cant go in V8 supercars because its a 2 door and for some reason the V8 supercars hav eto be 4 door.

There's lots of reasons it can't enter the v8 supercars, cars in that series have to conform to very strict specifications and the monaro doesn't.
