Yea, just reading that on BF3blog :D

I think I need to ditch Engineer and experiment with some other classes tomorrow. I didn't have much fun tonight.

What gametype are you playing? (Rush, Conquest, TDM) Some of the city maps are good with Engineer and Assault, while Recon is pretty good for the open part of Operation Metro. Try and experiment with different Kits and Maps until you find a combo that you like.

I started with Engineer, but I could only play well with the M4A1, so I went to assault. Worked out well.

Im not alone in disliking the soviet weapons!

So played a bunch last night with the M40A5 no optics, straight pull bolt, and tac light. Contrary to what i thought was going to happen I did well. Granted on large maps I opted to use armor but I grabbed an A10 and jumped out to land ontop of the building that has no roof access but has windows so people on the roof can look inside. I forgot the map name but its the defenders last base. Lot of people refer to the beginning kind of like d-day. Anyways was picking people off left and right with it, it was great.

That's one of my most hated things, don't waste a valuable asset like that just because you want to snipe from some place. This is a team game, so wasting a jet for a camping spot is no no.

Exactly. I love using jets, but it bugs the crap out of me when someone snags a jet and flys around the map for 20 minutes not engaging in any enemy or team related objective.

I haven't even touched any other class besides Support. I've just stuck with it for some reason. I just checked the Battlelog and i didn't even realize I had certain guns and attachments.....I really need to read the in-game manual and stop just jumping into online multiplayer, hahaha!

I really, really need to learn the maps too. I roam around very cautiously, peaking around everything, staying low, etc. and it seems like everyone else are just running around carefree, but still doing much better overall. I do notice that I don't die much, but as of yet I've yet to get into the double digits. Oh well practice, practice, practice.👍

I usually only play Rush. I think I will try Assault next, as they double as a Medic.

My first reaction to to go Recon, as that's my linus blanket, but I want to try leave that for second last (Engi will be last now :grumpy:)

I wish they would go back to the stats and weapon unlocks screen that was in Bad Company 2. This one is far too confusing in my opinion

I cant wait to get this for christmas. It was such a shame the rental did not let me play the mp because of the stupid online pass. But the beta was fun. My mother in law let me pick any game I wanted and BF3 was on of the first that came to mind. I am already buying just about everything else I want. I loved BF2 Modern Combat and expect this to be similar in mp judging off the beta.

The flashlight is rediculous. Sorry, the "tactical light". There is absolutely no use for it online except to blind me.

Patch coming shortly for it. It was confirmed on twitter.

I think I just played the best game to date.

It was pretty disappointing that I got disconnected at the end of the game but I believe I single handedly took the team to victory.

It was a typical Operation Metro CQ match, where one team gets hopelessly pinned down in one spawn, unable to do anything about it. Seems like the outside spawn is the worst when it comes to this.. Anyway, we were pinned down and I was able to use smoke, which I have done before and it works actually really well.. It took a few tries and I was able to snake my way along the left side of the B base.. It's either sprint through the long hallway or run on the right side and jump down the escalators.. both methods work well if done right with good smoke coverage.

So after I snaked through, I made it to the furthest base, as the rest of my squad spawned on me (this is critical) and took the base I got killed.. but I luckily capped the base before I died. Ended up getting behind the enemy at B and taking B, leaving them with just our home base capped. Which later switched to us taking our home base, and they taking theirs, we were able to keep Bravo the entire time and held them down just as we did to them. We kept them at bay and killed them off as well as bled their tickets (I think at one point it was them 43 vs us 33) and we ended up winning 18 to 0

Certainly not the most impressive stats, nor the most heroic story, but I put the weight of my hopeless team on my back and I turned the game around for the ultimate W

I just got this on PS3 and surprised on how the graphics look. The textures are terrible. Sometimes I'll see a decent wall, but even Blacks Ops looks a tad more polished...I'm thinking my texture HD pack didn't install..anyone feel the same?

Something is wormhole there because it looks beautiful in my PS3. How good is your TV?

A: the past 6 respawns before that it was still available.

B: everyone and their grandma had AA fixed on me and i was in the process of going down with another missle on its way, so i ejected

C: Why am i explaining myself to you?

Im usually the one in a server that does but an aircraft to good use, even the huey! God forbid I decide to hit the ground for a change.

BF3 looks amazing on the PS3 from what I've seen, looked so good I had a hard time believing it, still not as good as the PC by a long way but damn good for that old fax machine. I can't deal with playing it on a PS3 though, must use mouse and keyboard, no yucky gamepad.

Well I'm back to Battlefield 3 after trying Modern Warfare 3. Didn't even make it a week. I'd sell it if not for Survival.

I've been having horrible luck these past couple days trying to find decent matches.

A question for you guys of all skill levels.
Would you prefer to play with others of the same skill level roughly or a total mix?
As a newb at BF I have mixed feelings about it, some matches I do ok, others I get slaughtered. Now I understand playing with the good guys will improve my skills but sometimes I would prefer to have a chance.

As for you good guys would you prefer to rack up easy kills or be challenged by guys of your level?

I'm not complaining about the game and will continue to play and enjoy it, just wondering what you all think.

Cheers Shaun.

How do you define skill level?

I like to play with EVERYONE. Always feels good to grab the dogtags of a high ranking player, or high level.

I mean if we're going by rank, then it doesn't matter at all. I could start a new account, be rank 1, and still be better than most players. Or I could play like **** all day every day, be top rank, and get dominated by lower ranked players.

I realise that but surely within battlelog stat tracking a way of evenly matching people once a rank of say ten is reached would be possible.

Cheers Shaun

I think for the most part is does put you in games of like skilled players, but so early in the game it's hard to do it.

The ranks are mostly a way of knowing their way around the game, high ranks know what is what, and how to flank and kill easily, lower ranks usually are lost and confused.

In my personal opinion, I HATE steamrolling other teams, or being steamrolled. When one team dominates the other.. It's really annoying and usually one team isn't as organized or just has the lack of skill compared to the other team, and it's not fun trying to win games by yourself

What I hate is defending rush. They should call it Camp or Border Patrol. Make Rush have MCOMS for both teams.

^ also to add to the above post.

When it really comes down to it, it really doesn't matter about rank. As long as a team work together they will almost always win.
