I WANT this channel !!!

Tell me if you want to see more.

  Whoa, show me more!

This is incredible!  Do they have their own commentators with that or do you just get to hear the engines?

I think you can get both. The channel is aired by different national tv companies so you will get commentators that speak you language.

Anyway, here are some more shots

I will also check to see if there are any year 2000 pictures worth posting.

Even the pit crew have cameras on them!!!!????  I need this channel right now.  It looks like you could really see some awesome footage of crashes from these views!

I like the cameras on the pit crew but I prefer Driver-Cam

I would also love this channel. I heard that it only costs $18 which I think is cheap.

I got all of these pics from members.tripod.de/feheni

New pics are put up after every race.

Oh, man, this is just not right.  That has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen.    I'm going to look for every way possible to get this channel, do you know what it's official name is?

I love the front view which shows the track zipping by you. It even shows an RPM meter and speed meter! I want this channel so bad. But no cash!!! :(

When I have my own house I'll get this channel. And that  will be a long time. :(

OK, that would be great Phil.  I did some searching for it, but I was suprised almost nothing could be found.  :frown:

The service consists of six channels, the first four having their own individual directors, and the other two providing, respectively, timing and scoring information, and a split screen which shows what is at that moment available on the first four channels. The line up:

Channel One: Basic race coverage, called the Supersignal, which is similar to, but definitely not the same as what you see on analog, free TV.
Channel Two: Verfolgerfeld, or mid field action.
Channel Three: Cockpit, in car camera footage.
Channel Four: Pit Lane, plus replays of race highlights.
Channel Five: Live Timing and Scoring, exactly like what the teams get on their monitors in the pits.
Channel Six: Overview, a four way split screen showing what is being broadcast on channels one through four, with audio from the Supersignal.

A list of countries that have access to this channel can be found here http://www.planet-f1.com/gp/2001_season/information/tv_coverage.html/f1/ENG. They are the digital channels.

I will look for some more info later.

There, the link should be working now.  Which one is the digital channel?  I can't find any way to tell from that list.

Oh, wait, I see it there in the notes.  They call it Canal+, and it's definitely not in the U.S.  :shakehead:

Canal+ is the name of the broadcaster. I don't think it has an actual name, I think that any broadcaster who want to take it under its wing can do. I can't believe Poland gets it but we, the home of F1, don't even get a sniff

That sucks.  I don't think there's any possible way to get it here in the U.S. either.

No not until Bernie gives the go ahead. He is trying to run a global empire around a world championship and something like this is available in only a few countries. You think that being the shrewd business man he is he would want growth on the digital tv side.

Canal+ is a TV Station, the name is just Canal+....
You can get it in some countries in europe. You pay big, but it's worth it. I've got a canal+ decoder for several years now, the fee is NLG 65 (guilders) about 30US$ per month.

Whoa, you actually get it?!  You lucky thing!  Where do you live?

BTW: HI PHIL... and everybody else in this forum, Im the new kid in town...... uhm.... kid..... i'm allmost 26......
Just found this forum, and will be here more often now. I'm allready a moderator on the adsl forum in the netherlands, so my free time is on forums and formula 1.... geez... I need to get a life  :odd:

Yes, welcome Webvizor.  :D  What's the best view on that F1 channel?

Too bad... I dont have my own choices here, the commentator decides on the view you get, but the driver view with the revs on screen is the best, specially when that driver has his nose just about in de diffuser of the 1 in front of him.
Allso the pitradio is cool, you can hear what the raceengineer and the driver say while racing... IF they speak of course.
You allso get the email on screen what the teams and racecontrol are mailing 2 eachother.
The only thing missing is that I can choose the camara angles myself. But then... Canal+ has live football, live NBA, premiere movies and a lot more. So... it's worth it.  Allso the oscars are live on canal+... so... they do their best with creating a wide variety of programming.

Hi guys,

This is my first post, but I thought I'd give you a bit more info about the TV pictures (and Phil, you can get them, but not easily).

You can watch the pictures live (in Europe) with a satellite dish and correct receiver and card. They are broadcast by Premiere World (GER) on the Astra 1 (19.2 degrees East) satellite [http://www.lyngsat.com/dig/pw.shtml]. Other stations (Canal+) will show live pictures, but AFAIK only Premiere World let you choose which cammera you use (I'll gladly be corrected though).

A system to watch the above would probably cost you about £800 Phil, but you can also see the latest movies in digital quality etc <g> Bye for now,

mac

Have got no sat.dish here macca, Canal+ is a digital station, but delivers a scrambled signal throug cable. And with my Kenwood 5.1 digital receiver and a set of good speakers with a active subwoofer..... just can say these 2 words.... yum yum

Hi macca, welcome to the forums. Thanks for the information, you have given me some hope -  I will have to look into it. Is that what you have done to get the coverage ?

Arrgghh! I'm jealous LOL ;) I presumed you were watching Canal Digitaal via a satellite, sorry vizor :)

Thanks :) Yes, that's the setup I have Phil. TBH, I mostly use it for movies and Premiership football (Sat, Sun and Mon, hehe). I bought mine from Hisat in Bristol. You'll find it hard to get an official card, since you can't legally subscribe here in the UK, but a pirate card is legal due to EU loopholes :)

All the best guys,

mac

I'm sure you'll be able to find a lot of plenty of those cards on eBay, Phil.  ;)

Watching Premiership football on a Saturday - I need to sort out a system to do this.

Do you live in the South-West macca ?

Jordan: Welcome to the forums, macca.
Cheers, Jordan :)

You can watch practically every match shown, Phil, including the PPV games Sky will be showing on Sundays ;) Plus movies, and the all-important F-1 :)

I'm actually based in London, sorry. I'd be more than happy to provide you with info about cards and receivers etc, so feel free to e-mail me. I can post the details here if you wish.

Regards,

macca
