BAR do have one, it gives a quick burst of extra power, Ted Kravitz actually asked the BAR engineer about it and it basically is an overtake button but the engineer said we dont really want to call it an overtake button.

Thats where I remember it from.
It just changes the settings for a few seconds.

BAR knows nothing about this cheating thing you speak of... all they know is how to try and get around some rules every now and then... which is only racing! lol.

For the McMerc it wouldn't be a "push to pass button" it would be either "push to end your race" or "push for smoke" button

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Why doesn't this suprise me?

And I agree kensei, I voted "Not Important" on that survey too. If there is going to be passing it should be because of the car/drivers superiority, not because of a button.

Blake

the push to pass is very silly. no one would use it during the race and everyone would use it right at the end of the race probably causing large wrecks and then we would have more races end on caution.

Yeah, use it when there's no one around to pass....and then crash into....the guy that is no where near you!

Blake

not everyone is 30 seconds clear of the guy behind. 3-12 cna be close. if 5th wrecks into 4th and 7th doesnt see it and runs them over with 2 laps left...

there is no point in using it at least very much during the race. right before a pit stop being the only time really. givin the aero limitations you wouldnt be close enough for a bit of extra power to help you pass the guy so you;d just end up plowing into him. it'd look like ms and hill out there racin again.

OMG, you come out with such crap sometimes.

Why on earth does 5th 'wreck into' 4th? Are you saying he can't come up behind with the extra power, then move off the racing line to pass? Are you saying that he's just going to run into the back of him because his car has more power?

Have you ever watched championships where they use push-to-pass systems? have you ever watched any form of racing? Do you realise racing drivers are skilled enough not to run into the back of the guy in front 99% of the time?

!

lets say one of the cars is someone like webber and the other is someone like sato, or there is traffic or anything like that. one blocks and the other goes off or he runs over the other guys tire or he runs into another car. look at jag this time last year. they ran eachother over without the help of a button.

i'm not saying it would happen every time but it would happen. other then that push to pass is just fake racing and i dont like it.

It's in about 5 and a half hours I think.

And pSI, it's called a racing incident, push to pass wouldn't make it any more likely to happen.

I this pSI has been watching too much Driven, with Sly Stallone

Don't flame me! It's just good, clean fun

if it rains I we could see some crashes(Not wishing it but its fact) , and allot of things could change which year was when only like 9 cars finished or something?
