I'm just curious to see what percentage of people have broken something on account of a video game?

Edit: And yes I have.

Plenty of controllers have been chucked toward the nearest wall.

Sometimes you just get too involved with what you're playing.

Broke my laptop because a game was lagging...

I punched the screen, smashed it, and screwed up my hand! :scared:

Broke three PS3 controllers, one ashtray and a cellphone while playing COD4... :ouch:

Anger management, anyone?

Anyway, it was all lag's fault. 👍

Midnight Club 3 on the Xbox maybe me bang a controller into the floor. It cracked it but didn't break it. Past that I just turn the game off when I get frustrated with it.

When I got annoyed with something once and throwing the controller just wasn't enough I got one of the 360's launch games out and snapped the disc up repeatedly (it was kameo I never played it apart from once).

Punched a controller, the couch (resulting in me breaking the wood inside the arm, and then blaming the dog), the pillow and my own hand...I don't know why my girlfriend calls me psycho when I'm playing the PS3.

No but I once broke a sandwedge after five failed attempts to get out of a bunker.

Nothing whilst gaming but I did smash up a tennis racket in a fit of rage...
Since then I have not let my racket out of my hand deliberately. I learnt my lesson.
:guilty:

I did "break ;) " my little brother when bob lost a race on the last lap, I blamed it on his distraction. ;)

I've mellowed quite a bit with age, but yes, 10 years ago I would've chucked a controller at the wall after my 50th unsuccessful attempt at a GT2 license test.

I have broken quite a few controllers in my lifetime.

Some things just piss me off so much. Especially unfairness, like in the "overtake all cars" license test. Overtake opponent->get rammed->get disqualified->rinse and repeat->HATE !

But since DS3 are like 50€ now, I just turn off the PS3 before I get too angry.

Haven't actually broken anything over a videogame... but I've caused upturned chairs and slammed doors at Counterstrike LAN parties.

Some people really hate getting shot in the back. Especially after they've splashed ten thousand dollars on weapons and armor, only to get drilled because they're facing the wrong way.

I think my record is several rage quits after just three rounds. They all just got fed up and walked out.

Good thing I'm a big guy. The worst anyone has ever done in direct retaliation is unplug my monitor and run away.

I honestly don't think I've ever broken something because of a game. I've broken many other things for many other reasons, most of them laughable. For instance, recently I put a giant dent in my new desk because my ex-girlfriend refused to give me a free haircut.

The only two I remember are when I broke a Sixaxis playing Winning Eleven 9. I put it back together though. Only the little shoulder button cap popped off when I tossed the controller at my sofa but missed and hit the wall.

My personal best rage-quit was with NFS Hot Pursuit II. I don't even remember what made me rage quit, because I think I blacked out afterwards. Anyway, I just remember ctrl+alt+del quitting the game and I took the CD out of the drive and flinged it like a frizbee across the room. But, it hit the edge of my razor scooter and shattered into a million pieces. I basically flipped out and I just remember running across the house and when I came to I was on my mom's bed with blood all over my shirt and my face from my nose.

That's about when I calmed down from video games.

I've definitely come close, but i've never actually broken any controllers in frustration. I have dropped them plenty of times though.

Threw a PS2 DVD against the wall after realizing it didn't work. Except the wall was two inches to the left, so the DVD hit a screen directly in its way. No harm done, but it was 🤬 scary.

I've never broken anything because of a video game however I did snap the head clean off my seatpost on my old bike when I threw it at a tree after I came up short a few times on some jumps because the tyres couldn't keep the speed up.

Some interesting stories. I've broken many controllers over the years. My most recent stint a couple of weeks ago, I completely tore a G27 to pieces with my bare hands. Was day 2 of quitting smoking and I can't remember for the life of me what set it off. After that I realized there was no going back to smoking, needed the money to buy a new wheel. I'm still smoke free, best 300 bucks I've ever destroyed. 👍

In an attempt to gold the Junior License in Tourist Trophy, I failed several times and those several times are very, very close to being Gold. It was all over my anger, I smack my hand on the controller's analog and switch off the PS2 immediately. The next time I touch the controller, I felt somthing weird and realising I may have broken the mechanism of the analog resulting the stick can be twisted like opening a bottle cap... I have two controllers, one for GT4 and another one for TT because each one of them have some bits different :p

Not much harm, still it can be used 👍

I havnt broken anything I dont think.

But i have thrown a few controllers, though I mainly throw them up in the air and then catch them again, sorta like a flick, they jump and rotate very fast . I dont actually peg them at something.

Once hit a flip phone with the handle part of a PS2 controller, smashing the screen on the front. I've always had anger issues with the Tekken series though ever since I was 6 or 7, apparently a 4-5 year break from it did no good and resulted in that, so Tekken is avoided at all costs. Other than that, any anger rising and I'll just quit.

Never broke any controllers/disks from a game. But then, if I get frustrated at a game I just turn it off and try again later. I tend to not let games get to me :p

I've never broken anything while playing video games. If I get mad, I'll either a) walk away or b) punch a pillow or something else soft.

I do have a bad habit of throwing tools when I work on my car though...
