I keep getting killed very easily, and I have a reason to suspect it's my connection speed. Every time I see an enemy, I aim, shoot about 10-12 rounds and he kills me with a quick burst. Then, watching the 'kill cam' I see how he spots me first, fires a bunch of rounds, and I never get a shot off or maybe just one. How's that frickin' possible?
Numerous times, somebody spots me, I see him, I aim, I'm dead and I see that he NEVER got a shot off! Again, watching the 'kill cam' I see he shot me a few times. What's going on? Is it my own connection speed causing this, or somebody else's?
Well you probably won't be surprised but this was a problem with CoD4 as well. There was a good amount of discussion in that thread about it and, although I can't recall all the details, I remember it being suggested that what you describe is "desync." Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, but it is essentially where the client(s) and server are kinda out of step with one another. So let's say the server is tracking you as just turning a corner, but because of desync the client you are playing on is tracking you as, let's say, a few feet short of said corner. Assuming all this is true, then any other player that is in sync with the server (since the server decides what is correct) will see you a little bit sooner than you see them. Once again I might not have that exactly right but that's the jist of it I believe. FWIW I experience it every now and then as well and it is very frustrating to be certain.
Random question: anyone else notice in the kill cams that when you're shot a bunch of paper money bursts into the air like confetti? Does this happen all the time and I'm just now noticing it or is it some sort of odd perk or playlist thing?
